Air travel is the travel going from place to place by plane.
People dreamed of air travel from the old times when they saw birds flying. They tried to take a flight (飞行) in many ways and finally made planes. Air travel is the fastest way to travel by now. Today we can think of travelling around the world in 24 hours, but it’s never possible with cars or trains. Today air travel is a usual way to travel for fun, visiting or working.

There are two different kinds of air travel: national and international (国际) flights. Flights from one point to another in the same country are called national flights. Flights from a point in one country to a point in another country are international flights.
Travel classes on an airplane are not always the same. National flights usually have two classes: economy class (经济舱) and first class. International flights may have up to three classes: economy class, business class and first class. Most air travel starts and ends at a business airport.
Some people think that today’s planes use less fuel (燃料) than cars. But others say that this may not be true because not every flight is completely booked.
