Unit3阅读课教案 1、 Teaching Objectives: 1. Students will be able to understand and analyze the biographies of Langping and Michael Jordan. 2. Students will be able to compare and contrast the life stories of these two living legends. 3. Students will be able to express their opinions and insights about the lives of Langping and Michael Jordan. 2、 Teaching Key Points and Difficulties: 1. Teaching key points: Students will learn about the backgrounds, achievements, challenges, and impact of Langping and Michael Jordan. They will also learn how to analyze and compare these two figures. 2. Teaching difficulties: Students may find it challenging to understand the technical terms used in the biographies (e.g., NBA, Olympic gold medal). Also, students may have different perspectives on the lives of these two legends, which may lead to disagreements during the class discussion. 3、 Academic Background: 1. Students should have a basic understanding of basketball and have some knowledge of Michael Jordan's career as a professional basketball player. They should also have some knowledge of Langping's achievements in table tennis. 2. Students should be able to read and comprehend English texts at an intermediate level. 4、 Teaching Process: 1. Warm-up (5 minutes) a. Greet students and ask them to share their thoughts on living legends in general. b. Introduce the topic of today's lesson by asking students if they know who Langping and Michael Jordan are and what they have achieved in their respective fields. c. Write the names of Langping and Michael Jordan on the board and ask students to form groups of 4-5 students each. 2. Reading and Analysis (25 minutes) a. Divide the class into pairs or small groups and assign each group one of the biographies (Langping or Michael Jordan). Ask students to read the biography silently for 5 minutes and then discuss their impressions with their partner or group. b. After 5 minutes, ask each group to share their thoughts and observat
