Ask Ss to write down the English translation for each Chinese phrase and the verb. · In pairs, ask Ss to talk about what they did on their last vacations. Simple past tense was practiced in this activity. (Tip: T can ask Ss to use the sentence structures from PPT 6-7. T can also encourage Ss to have more different output.) · Because the Central Park and the Huangguoshu Waterfall will be mentioned in this lesson, so T can ask Ss how much they know about these two places. Invite Ss to introduce something about these two places before T shows PPT P8-9. Step 2 Presentation & Practice Pre-listening · Show PPT P10 to Ss and introduce the new words and expressions which may appear in listening for Ss.
