1.过去分词短语作定语
(1)过去分词短语作定语时,常放在被修饰词的后面;
(2)过去分词短语作定语时,通常与被修饰词之间是被动关系,有时强调此动作已完成;
(3)有些形容词化的过去分词如lost, excited, known等作定语时,和被修饰词之间不含被动关系,只强调修饰词所处的状态。

3.while 引导让步状语从句
while既可用作连词,也可用作名词:
(1)while引导让步状语从句时(常置于句首),意为“虽然;尽管”,相当于though或although;
(2)while引导时间状语从句时,意为“当……的时候”;
(3)while用作并列连词时,表示前后的对比,意为“然而;可是”;
(4)while用作名词,表示“一会儿;一段时间”。
