Reading and thinking： The Night The Earth Didn’t Sleep   一、整体设计思路 1.主题语境 人与自然----描述自然灾害（1976年唐山大地震），树立防灾意识，采取应对措施 2.语篇类型   该阅读文本是一篇报告文学，所描写的是真实发生的事件即1976年发生的唐山大地震，对该事件有生动的描绘并运用多种修辞方法组织语言。 3.语篇分析    本文的标题运用拟人的修辞方法The Night The Earth Didn’t Sleep就可以引起读者思考What happened ? Why等问题。 文本按地震前、中、后的顺序向读者整体描述了唐山大地震这场灾难。文本开篇（第一段）描述了地震前乡村出现的一些异常现象，运用了排比的修辞法，语言生动、富有画面感，营造出一种重大事件发生前的紧张氛围。第二和第三两段运用大量的数据刻画了大地震发生时的惊人场景，以及灾难过后满目疮痍、让人绝望的画面。第五和第六两段描写了身处绝境但绝不放弃希望的灾区人民在国家和军队的支持和帮助下，在废墟上重建家园，唐山这座被自然灾害损毁的城市重获新生。 文本中运用了排比、比喻、拟人的修辞方法，运用了列数字、作比较等写作手法，使全文生动、充满画面感，饱含情感，体现了“灾害无情、人有情”的思想感情。 4.学情分析   教学对象是高中一年级学生。学生掌握了一定的词汇量和获取文本信息的能力，但对自然灾害以及灾后重建方面的词汇和相关知识还不够全面。   二、教学目标 本课为阅读课型，在本课学习中，学生能够： 1.掌握相关词汇(如：percent/brick /metal/shock /bury/breathe/effort/wisdom 等）以及短语（come to an end/in ruins /be trapped/suffer from）的用法。 2.通过略读、细读、上下文猜词等阅读技巧，把握语篇类型，梳理文本结构，理解文本内容，并能够运用自己的语言简要描述文本内容。 3．通过分析思考人与自然的关系，提高自我保护意识。 4.学会欣赏文本中所运用的修辞方法和写作技巧，理解作者在作品中所表达的情感和写作意图。                            三、教学重点难点 1.培养学生的阅读技巧，即把握语篇类型、结构，提高学生概括文章大意的能力。 2.通过评鉴作者的写作意图激发学生的情感，发展思维品质。 四、教学过程 Step1.Lead-in Teacher’s activity: 1.Get the Ss to raise some questions according to the title and photo below .
