数词

基数词变序数词口诀：

基变序，很容易，词尾加上-th；

一二三，特殊记，八加h，九减e，f来把ve替；

若是遇上整十数，ty变作tie；

若是遇上几十几，只变各位就可以。

 

数词的用法

1. 编号

编号可用基数词或序数词表示：

(1)       基数词位于名词之后，且名词首字母要大写

(2)       序数词位于名词之前，并加定冠词

eg：66路公交车：Bus 66、Bus No. 66或No.66 Bus

第100页：Page 100或the 100th page

332号房间：Room 332、Room No. 332或the No. 332 Room

2. 日期、年代

(1)       用基数词表示“年”,年代是四位数时,常先读读前两位数,再读后两位数。

Eg:  2023年 读作 twenty twenty-three

(2)       英语中通常为“月、日、年”

Eg: 2009年10月25日:  October 25(th)，2009

   读作 October the twenty fifth, two thousand and nine

(3)       表达“……世纪……年代”时,在表达年份的阿拉伯数字后加-s或-'s。

    Eg: 20世纪 90 年代:the 1990s或the 1990's 读作 the nineteen nineties

       18 世纪 40年代:the 1740s 或 the 1740's 读作 the seventeen forties

3. 年龄: “几十岁”in one’s +基数词复数; at the age of...

   Eg: My sister is twenty-three years old.

      When he was in his thirties, he became a very famous actor.

      She began to learn the piano at her age of five.

4. 时刻

(1)       整点：“整点时间+o’clock”；非整点：“整点数+分钟”

Eg: It’s seven o’clock.

   It's seven twenty.

(2)       时刻读法：“整点数+分钟”；（分钟数小于或等于30分钟）“分钟数+past+整点数”；

（分钟数大于30分钟）“所差分钟数+to+下一整点数”

   Eg: 6:30读作six thirty 或 half past six

      8:45 读作 a quarter to nine

注意：15分钟常用a quarter，半小时常用half

5. 分数、小数、百分数

①　分数：分子用基数词，分母用序数词，分子大于一时，分母需用序数词的复数形式

eg：1/3：one/a third

2/3：two thirds

3/4：three quarters 或three fourths

②　小数：按照基数词的读法

eg：36.22读作thirty-six point two two

③　百分数

eg：88%读作eighty-eight percent （percent没有复数形式）

6. 倍数：“两倍”用twice/double，“三倍以上”用“基数词+times”，常用句型有：

①　倍数+as...as

Eg：We have produced four times as many computers as we did last year.

②　倍数+比较级+than

Eg: His uncle is twice older than he.

   She has read three times more books than I have.

③　倍数+the+名词+of: 常见名词有size, height, length, depth, age, width, weight等

Eg: China is almost five times the size of Mexico in area.

7. “数词-可数名词单数（-形容词）”用作定语

Eg: a five-year-old child

   a three-week visit to Singapore

8. 序数词前不用the或省略the的情况

①　表示“又一，再一”时

Eg: They wanted to try a second time.

②　序数词前有物主代词或名词所有格时

Eg: It’s my 60th birthday.

   This is Lily’s twelfth book.

③　“序数词+名词”构成合成形容词时

Eg: There will be a second-hand clothes shop on this street.

④　固定搭配

Eg: at first,  first of all,  every four years
