Teaching Procedure Teacher’s Activities / Purposes Students’ Activities / Purposes Step 1.Warming up Speech time. Invite a group of students to the front and make a speech. After their speech, other students should answer their questions based on the speech. Step 2 Pre-writing Learning about four parts in a poster 1. Show the students some posters of the clubs in our school. Ask them which poster is the best and why. 2. Brainstorm and discuss in groups about the questions “How many parts should be in a poster? What are they?” 3. Show students a poster on Page 95 and introduce four necessary parts in a poster(a headline, important information, some interesting photos, some more information). 4. While reading the poster, teach and learn new words. Step 3 While-writing Complete the poster. 1. Brainstorm and discuss in groups about “What can we do in the Insect Club?” 2. Show the students some pictures and learn about some activities. 3. Ask the students to write the past tense of the main verbs :draw/drew, take/took, listen/listened, learn/learnt, look/looked. Then put the activities in the right order. 4. Finish the poster on Page 95. After they finish their writing, they can show their writing to their group members and try to check if there are a
