Lead-in Show the pictures and ask students to guess what club it is. Guess and say them aloud. Arouse students’ interest. 2. Brainstorm: what clubs do you know in our school? What’s your favourite club? Use mind map to help Ss review all school clubs and lead students to talk about their favourite clubs. Talk about our school clubs and their favourite ones. Inspire students to think and summarize the expressions of activities. 3. Pre-writing 1. Analyze the structure of introducing a club. 2. Summarize some sentence patterns for telling reasons and purposes. 3. Pair work: ask students to use the sentence patterns to make an interview. 1. Think about the structure. 2. Summarize other sentence patterns for telling reasons and purposes, except what the teacher mentioned. 3. Make an interview. Encourage students to use what they learnt and learn the structure of introducing a club. 4. While- writing Group work : ask every two students should write a paragraph. With the help of the basic structure, complete an article about two most popular clubs. Try using different sentence patterns to complete a passage. 5. Presentation Help students check the writings. Have a group presentation and analyze the passage. Learn judge and improve a writing with the basic structure and sentence patterns. 6. Summary Help students sum up what they learnt.
