Teaching: Step 1 Warming up /Lead- in 1. To show some pictures about the places of interest ,and ask Ss “Which place do you like best ? 2. To introduce the competition. 3. Let Ss ask and answer this structure in pairs . Step 2 Grammar 1. Use some questions to lead in if-clause. “Do you want to go there ?” “Do you have time now ?” “Do you have money to go now ?” 2. Tell the Ss “If I have time , I will go to the Great Wall.” And then ask Ss “What about you ?” 3. Give some time to Ss to think about the sentence, and speak it out in class. 4. Show some examples on the screen, and give some time to Ss to think about the rules. 5. Encourage Ss to have a conclusion about if-clause, the teacher explain the rules if necessary. 6. Suppose I have a friend ,he is William, now he meets many problems, ask Ss “Would you like to help him?” “If you are his mom, what will you say to him?” Lead in part A on page 78. 7. Give some time to Ss to finish part A, and ask some Ss to share their advice, the teacher correct them if necessary. 8. Game time: Before the game , give enough time to Ss to finish part B, let them get ready for the game. 9. Summing-up 10. Do some Exercises to consolidate if-clause.
