It aims to get the students focus on the topic. Step 2 Vocabulary learning Task1: Students learn vocabulary “space, spaceship, spacesuit, and float ”by finishing “What do you know about…?” and learn“diary, leave, breathe, tie, camera ，（be）able to, have to, and more than…” based on one picture , guidance from the teacher. It aims to clear the obstacle of the new words. Step 3 Pre-reading Task2: Students think about the type of the passage and finish “Before you read” by looking at the photos, the title and the first paragraph of the diary on page 59. It aims to help Ss reach the background. Step 4 While-reading 1. Skimming 1st reading: Task3: Ss skim the diary to decide the main idea of each paragraph. Paragraph 1 a.
