Q: Do you think it is necessary to study abroad? Why or why not?
Dear Till,
How is everything going? Faced with so challenging a problem now, I’m have no alternative but to turn to you for help.
What bothers me is that I am at a loss whether I should study abroad or not. To be honest, I am eager and willing to continue my studies abroad upon graduation to improve my knowledge on both academic and personal level. However, my parents are opposed to my choice, insisting that Chinese students’ inadequate English proficiency, unfamiliarity with the foreign culture, lack of appropriate study skills or strategies, academic learning anxiety, low social self-efficacy, financial difficulties and separation from family and friends are severe problems. What should I do? Can you give me some advice?
I would be very grateful if you could take the trouble to help me deal with the problem.
Your,
Li Hua
