In 1891, she went to Pairs to live with one of her sisters and was accepted into Sorbonne University. She was so poor that she worked as a teacher in the evenings and studied chemistry, physics and maths during the day. While Marie was at the university, she was introduced to another scientist, Pierre Curie. They worked together and got married in 1895.She was the first person in history to receive two Nobel Prizes. Marie Curie died in 1934 because she did a dangerous experiment and got a serious illness.
