I had brown hair that started going gray(灰白的)when I was 30. So, like a lot of women,I started coloring my hair, which may make me look younger.
However, it was expensive and a waste of time. And my hair grew fast, so I needed to color it every five weeks.
Then one day, I suddenly realized that many people seemed to enjoy keeping young for as long as possible, no matter how much time and money they had to spend in coloring their hair. More importantly, I felt that it was OK to be ourselves because going gray had done more for me than saving me time and money.
I like my natural hair, just as it is. I like how it has gotten curly and full again. After years of not being colored, it is healthier than before.
I also like that it makes me realize something different. It reminds me that I'm not a kid anymore-and this isn't a bad thing.
Not being a kid any more means I read the books I want and not the books I feel I should read. It means not wasting my time at events I don't need to attend when I'd rather be with family and friends.
When I see my hair in the mirror,it's a reminder that my time is not infinite(无限的)and I should spend it doing what matters.
There's nothing shameful about growing older. So I stopped coloring my hair. I see gray hair as my "flag" now - and I'm letting it fly, proudly.
65. Does the writer think it's a bad thing that she's not a kid anymore?
66. How often did the writer color her hair in the past?
67. What does the writer think of her gray hair after stopping coloring it?
68. Will you be afraid of growing older? Why or why not?
