Teaching Procedures:
Step1 Free talk
(1)Ask student two questions.
what’s your feeling about your new school life?
Do you want to join any school club?
(Justifications:Ask students how they feel about high school life and what they know about campus clubs to prepare for the learning tasks of this lesson.)
Step2 Listening
1. Pre-listening
(1)Encourages students to predict before listening to the conversation and ask students to go through the steps of part A1 and circle the key information.
(Justifications:Encourage and motivate students to read the questions, guess the content of the dialogue to maximize the listen ability before listening)
(2)Students listen to the conversation for the first time and finish the exercise of A1.
(3)Students read A2, try filling in the blanks and then check their answers.
(Justifications:Two listening exercises are used to train students' listening ability and improve their ability to find key information at the same time)
(4)The teacher shows the students how to circle the key information before listening
Example:
a Give the signed proposal to Mr Zhou.
b With Mr Zhou’s help, find a place for the club and set up the first meeting.
