Teaching plan of Frankenstein Period 1 Step1: Protagonist of the novel. (Frankenstein and the monster) Imprinted in the cover is a picture of the monster, so do you have any idea of Frank’s appearance. (Pictures of Frank are in page…) The novel has been adapted into many films, cartoon or manga. Share with the class pictures of Frankenstein in different works and ask questions about the general information of the novel, including author, genre and subtitle (5 minutes). Step 2: Divide all the groups into three in-class working team. Assign each of them with the task in the reading material. (15 minutes) Task 1: Read through the reading material of Mary Shelley, underline the names in the passage and figure out the relationships between the historical figures mentioned in the article according to the hints of the relationship map. (Group 1 and 2) Ask students to share their versions on the blackboard. Task 2: Consider the question, ‘Why was Frankenstein called the modern Prometheus?’ But students may find it difficult to reach the understanding, and thus read the passage first and consider the questions below.
