Emotional aims: Promote traffic safety consciousness Ⅱ. Teaching aids PPT , a helmet ⅣTeaching procedures Step 1 Introduction 1. Greeting. 2. Invite a student to make a report which is about the advantages of cycling. Step 2 Presentation 1.Talk with students about how to ride safely to lead to 1a and learn some new words by showing pictures and a real bicycle helmet. 2. David is riding a bike. Ask students to tell him how to stay safe when riding a bike. Have a quick review. 3. Ask students one question. “What may happen if we break the traffic rules?” Ask students to watch the flash of 1a and find out the answer. Teach the phrases “break the traffic rules / get a fine / be in danger” 4. Set up three tasks. Task 1: Listen to 1a and finish 1b. Task 2: Underline the adverbial clauses of condition. Task 3: Practice 1a with your partner, then make your own conversation according to the key words. Invite some pairs to act it out.
