Lesson 8 单招词汇201-225词 1 PART I only adv. 仅仅；只有 adj. 唯一的；仅有的 or conj. 或者；还是 or so 大约…… other adj. 别的；其他的 out adv. 在外；向外 out of 向……外；从……当中 over prep. 在……上方；越过；遍及 over and over 反复；再三 over there 在那边（指较远处） 1. only adv. 仅仅；只有/ adj. 唯一的；仅有的 (1) only 作形容词： E. g. John is the only boy in his family. (2) only 作副词， 意为“仅仅，只是”： E. g. At present, we can only wait and see. E. g. He studies hard only to fail the exam. 约翰是家里唯一一个男丁。 现如今，我们也只能够等等看了。 他学习如此用功，最后竟然在考试中失利了。 (3) only to do...，意为“竟然……，结果是……”： == merely 仅仅 2. or conj. 或者；还是 (1) or 表示“或者”、“还是”： E. g. Would you prfer tea or coffee? (2) or 作连词，表示“否则，不然”： E. g. Hurry up, or you'll be late for school. 你更想喝茶还是咖啡？ 现如今，我们也只能够等等看了。 E. g. You may go or stay, it’s up to you. 你要么走要么留下，这取决于你。 3. other adj. 别的；其他的 (1) 作adj.，表示“其他的，另外的”，可修饰可数名词复数和不可数名词： E. g. Other problems may follow. 其他问题可能会接踵而来。 E. g.
