倒装结构 一 用于以so，neither（nor）开头的句子 1． 当so用在句首表示“…也这样”时，句子的语序为：so+be（have，助动词，情态动词）+主语。 I was tired，and so were the others. Our society has changed，and so have the people in it. Chen Hua worked deep into the night，and so did Li Ying. Louise can dance beautifully，and so can her sister. 在这种结构中，除了be和have外，其他实义动词都不能使用。 在这种结构中，不能用完整的动词短语（助动词+实义动词）。 如果后面的句子只是重复前面句子的意思或对别人说的话有同感，则尽管so置于句首，语序不用颠倒。 —That is Isabel，look！ —So it is！ 2． 当neither（nor）用在句首表示“…也不这样”时，句子的语序为：neither（nor）+be（have，助动词，情态动词）+主语。 He is not wrong，nor are you. Not a word did he say about the matter. Hardly did I think it possible. Scarcely did he speak about the difficulties in his work. Rarely could she have been faced with so difficult a choice. Seldom has he taken a day off. Little does he know the English language. 2． 以not until开头的句子，要用倒装结构。 Not until after midnight did he fall asleep. 3． 以nowhere开头的句子，要用倒装结构。 Nowhere in the world can one find more attractive scenery than in Switzerland. 4． 以hardly…when，scarcely…when，no sooner…than（解作“刚一…就”）开头的句子，要用倒装结构。通常其前面部分多用过去完成时，后面部分用一般过去时，前两个短语中的when也可以用before，但是在现代英语中，多用when。 Hardly had I got on the bus when it started to move. Scarcely had he gone out when it began to rain. No sooner had I gone out than he came to see me. 5． 以not only…but also开头的两个并列句子中的前一个句子要用倒装结构。 Not only was she a singer，but she was also a dancer. 用not only…but also连接两个主语时不用倒装。 Not only young but also old men were invited to the party. 6． 含有no的介词短语位于句首时，常表示强调，此时须用倒装结构。 At no time will China be the first to use nuclear weapons.
