Look at the pictures of the Taiwan Earthquake and talk about what happened. 2. Discuss the question: What were people doing when the earthquake happened? 【设计意图】有目的、有意义地导入，既复习了阅读部分学习的内容，同时也引导学生思考过去进行时态。 Step 2 Presentation 1. Look at the pictures and complete the sentences. 2. Read the sentences aloud and then learn the structure and the usage of the past continuous tense. 【设计意图】采用归纳教学法，让学生自己发现语法规则符合现有的心智结构，更便于记忆与运用
