The reporter asked," How can we save polar bears from extinction?" 4."Let's work together to stop climate change," the expert said. 【答案解析】 1.The expert said that from the position of it’s dead body, the bear appeared to have starved and died. 2.The reporter asked whether/if polar bears would die out because of climate change. 3.The reporter asked how we could save polar bears from extinction. 4.The expert suggested working together to stop climate change. 直接引语与间接引语 引用某人的话一般采用两种方式∶一种是直接引用某人的原话，叫直接引语（Direct Speech）;另一种是用自己的话转述某人的话，叫间接引语（Indirect Speech）。 间接引语在多数情况下构成宾语从句。直接引语一般前后要加引号，间接引语不用放在引号内。例如∶ John told me，"I’d like to see a movie now."（直接引语）→John told me that he would like to see a movie then.（间接引语） 间接引语比直接引语使用起来更加灵活，而且还可以达到委婉、礼貌等交际效果，因此在语言交际中间接引语比直接引语更加常用。使用间接引语时，所转述的信息要便于听者理解.这就要求说话人根据时间、地点、指代关系等语境因素的变化，对直接引语中的部分词语在语言形式上进行必要的改动。 知识点1: 直接引语变间接引语时句式的变化 一、直接引语是陈述句 此时变为间接引语时，用连接词that 引导（that 可以省略）同时人称、时态、时间状语、地点状语和动词等要作相应的改动。引述动词如果是 say to 或 said to，常相应地改为 tell 或told。 Lucy said to me,"I came back an hour ago."
