1. What's the matter?
①用于询问某人发生了什么事情等;用于健康话题时,则旨在询问某人哪里不适,其中matter之后还可由介词 “with”引出具体的询问对象。
如:What's the matter with you?
除本句外,人们还常用以下结构询问疾病、不适及突发情况:
What' wrong (with ...)?
What's the trouble (with ...)?
What happened (to ...) ?
Is there anything wrong (with ...)?
Do you have a(n) +疾病名称?
Did you catch/get ...?
②用于表述疾病及事故伤害的语言特征
·用“have/get a(n)+疾病名称”表示患病,且以have更为常见:
如:have a fever, get a toothache, 还有如:catch a cold等。
·用“be/feel+形容词”表示不适:
如:be/feel tired, be/feel dizzy等;
或用“get+动词的过去分词” 表示受伤:get hurt等。
·用动词“hurt/cut/break+具体部位”等表示伤害:
如:hurt my leg, cut her finger, break his arm等;hurt/cut等动
词还可以接用反身代词进行反指,表示“伤着自己了”:
hurt/cut myself等。
③表示救治、就医
·用动词take/get(以take更为常见)表达诊治:
如:take one's temperature, take some medicine, take /get an X-ray ...
·用see或go to...表达就医:
如:see the dentist/doctor, go to a doctor, go to (the) hospital等。
·用情态动词should或had better表达建议:
如:You should lie down and have a rest.
