第十七讲 让步状语从句 一、让步状语从句的引导词 从属连词：although, though, as, however (=no matter how), even if(即使), whether...or(不论...还是)等连词。 二、让步状语从句的种类 1.由though, although引导的状语从句 例如：Although/Though he was worn out, he kept on working. 虽然他已经精疲力竭了，但仍然继续工作。 2.由as, though引导的让步状语，表示“虽然......但是”，“纵使......”之意。 例如：Hard as/ though he works, he makes little progress. 尽管他学习很努力，但几乎没取得什么进步。 Child as/though he was, he knew what was the right thing to do. 虽然他是一个孩子，但他知道该做什么 3.由even if, even though引导的状语从句，表示“即使......”，“纵使......”之意。 例如：We’ll make a trip even if the weather is bad. 即使天气不好，我们也要作一次旅行。 三、让步状语从句的注意点 1.让步状语从句是指某一个句子发生在某一个时态，句子本身就是状语从句，这个状语从 句让了一步给主句，一般翻译为“尽管......”或“即使......” 例如：He went out even though it was raining. 尽管下雨，他还是出去了。 2.as也可引导让步状语从句，但要将名词、形容词或副词等提到as前，若提前的是单数可数名词，要省略a/ an。 例如：Teacher as he is, he can’t know everything. 虽然是老师，他也不可能什么都懂。 3.连词 while 有时也可表示“尽管”、“虽然”，引导让步状语从句。 例如：While we don’t agree we continue to be friends. 尽管我们意见不同，我们还是朋友。 4.whatever, whoever, however, whenever, wherever 等引导让步状语从句。 例如：Don’t lose heart whatever you do. 不管你做什么，都不要灰心。 Whoever you are, you can’t pass this way. 不管你是谁，你都不能从这里通过。 注：表示“虽然”的 though, although 不可与 but 连用，但可与 yet, still 连用。 5.由even if, even though 引导的状语从句，表示“即使......”，“纵使......”之意。这两个复合连词的意思基本相同。它们常可互换使用，但意义有细微差别。 even if 引导的让步从句含有强烈的假定性。 even though 引导让步状语从句时，是以从句的内容为先决条件的，也就是说，说话人肯定了从句的事实。 例如：I will marry him even my father opposes to this marriage. 我要嫁给他，即使我爸反对我们的婚姻。 课后习题 单选题 1.
