第三章　状语从句 一、时间状语从句 1．when, while与as引导的时间状语从句 We will ensure that people from Taiwan will enjoy the same treatment as local people when they pursue their studies or seek jobs in the mainland. 我们将确保台湾同胞在大陆求学或就业时，享有与当地人同等的待遇。 I like listening to music while I am doing my homework. 我喜欢做作业的时候听音乐。 As the day went on, the weather got worse. 随着时间的流逝，天气变得更糟糕了。 [温馨提示] ①while 在句中的不同含义： While I was walking down the street, I came across an old friend.( 当……时候) While I really don't like art, I find his work impressive.(尽管) While there is life there is hope. (只要) He likes pop music, while I am fond of folk music.(然而) ②when常用在be doing ...when..., be about to do...when...和had just done...when...中。 They were walking down the street when they saw an accident. 他们正在街上走的时候看到了一起车祸。 I was about to go swimming when our guide stopped me. 我刚要去游泳突然我们的导游阻止了我。 2．before与since引导的时间状语从句 (1)before与since的常用句式 It won't be long before we meet again. 过不了多长时间我们就又见面了。 It has been/is six years since she graduated from the university. 自从她大学毕业已经有六年时间了。 It will not be long before you regret for what you've done. 不久你就会为你的所作所为后悔。 (2)since引导的从句如果用非延续性动词，所表示的是自从句谓语动作开始算起；若用延续性动词或状态动词，所表示的就是自动作或状态的完成或结束时算起。 It is five years since the boy was a Young Pioneer. 这个男孩已经五年没有当少先队员了。 3．表示“一……就……”含义的词(短语)引导的时间状语从句 (1)引导时间状语从句，且表示“一……就……”含义的词或短语有as soon as, the moment, the minute, the instant, immediately, directly, instantly, hardly/scarcely...when..., no sooner ...than ...等。 Directly I received his letter I went to see him. 我一收到他的信就去看他。 I will tell him about it as soon as he comes back. 他一回来我就告诉他这件事。 I'll give him your message the minute he arrives. 他一来我就把你的留言给她。 (2)hardly/scarcely ...when ..., no sooner ...than ...中主句应用过去完成时，从句应用一般过去时；当no sooner...和hardly/scarcely ...位于句首时，主句要用部分倒装。 I had no sooner begun to talk than he rang off.
