复活节是在每年春分月圆之后第一个星期日。基督徒认为，复活节象征着重生与希望，为纪念耶稣基督被钉死在十字架之后第三天复活的日子。
鸡蛋是复活节的象征，因为它预示着新生命的降临。人们把彩蛋放在地上滚，最后破裂者即为获胜，胜利者可以得到所有游戏者的彩蛋。人们相信，彩蛋在地上来回滚动可以使恶魔不断惊颤、倍受煎熬。
复活节的另一象征是小兔子，它具有极强的繁殖能力，人们视它为新生命的创造者。

万圣夜
传说公元前五百年，居住在爱尔兰、苏格兰等地的凯尔特人（Celts）认为10.31是夏天正式结束的日子，也就是严酷的冬天开始的一天。
那时的人们相信，故人的亡魂会在这一天回到故居地，在活人身上找寻生灵，借此再生。人们惧怕死人的灵魂来夺生，于是就在这一天熄掉所有光亮，让死人的魂灵无法找到自己，又把自己打扮成妖魔鬼怪，把死人的魂灵吓走。
