Edward was glad he had the chance to make up the class. He can’t move on to the next level in math if he doesn’t pass algebra. Summer school isn’t easy though. Edward has to learn the material in 6 weeks instead of the 20 he had during the regular school year.
Summer school also meant that Edward would stay in a hot classroom while most of his friends were at the beach or parks. His friends passed algebra, so they had most of June, July, and August free from school work. Going to summer school also meant that Edward’s family had to change their summer vacation plans.
Edward had to be in summer school from 9 a.m. to noon. He couldn’t stay up late at night. He had to catch the early bus in the morning to school. The classrooms were hot since the school building was old and did not have air conditioning. After Edward took the bus home from school, he couldn’t do what he wanted. He had to do her homework.
This was the first time Edward had to go to summer school. He wanted it to be the last time. Edward made a promise to himself. In the new term, when regular classes begin again, he will try his hardest to pass. Studying hard without air conditioning in summer in a classroom
