Teaching procedures

Step 1  Warming up & Revision

1. Greet the class.

2. Oral communication.

Is it cold/… today? Yes, it is./ No, it’s not.

3. Say the chant.

4. Spell and read the 5 word cards. ( together / in groups)

5. Play a Missing game to review the 5 words & pay attention to the vowels in hot warm cold cool weather.

Step 2  Presentation & Practice

1. Show the pictures on the screen and ask Is it hot?

T: It’s hot today. Can I have some ice cream?

Ss: Yes, you can.

T: Is it cold outside? Teach outside and practice group by group.

T: Can I have some ice cream?

Ss: No, you can’t.

2. Lead to say Yes, It’s cold outside. So I can’t have ice cream. What about Mike? What does Mike want to do? Let’s watch the video.
