Teaching procedures

Step 1  Warming up & Revision

1. Greet the class.

2. Say the chant on Page 25 and do the actions.

3. Talk about the weather.

4. Oral communication. The words underlined can be replaced to make some more dialogues.

T: It’s time for English class. What time is it?  Ss: It’s 9:00.

T: Is it cold?                                 Ss: No, it isn’t.

T: What’s the weather like today?             Ss: It’s hot.

T: Can I have some Coke?                     Ss: Yes, you can.

Step 2  Presentation & Practice

1. Play a Guessing game. T Shows the places on the screen and asks What’s the weather like in …? Ss guess the weather in different places with the sentence pattern Is it… in …？

2. Show Singapore and the weather sign on the screen, then have some individuals guess. Lead out sunny and practice with a Golden
