Teaching procedures

Step 1  Warming up & Revision

1. Greet the class.

2. Show the main scene (4 cities Harbin, Beijing, Lhasa, and Hong

  Kong for 4 teams) & declare the rules of match. (The one who does well will get one sticker for their city.)

3. Talk and discuss.

Step 2  Presentation & Practice

1. Show a picture of a report. T: What’s this? Lead the Ss to say weather report. Practice the word group by group.

  2. Lead to say How many cities can you see? Point to the map and ask What city is it? Help the Ss find out Harbin, Beijing, Lhasa and Hong Kong. Have the Ss repeat.

  3. Show Mike who is in Hong Kong and ask What’s the weather like in Hong Kong? Lead Ss to say It’s hot. Then put the picture of hot on the board. Practice the word hot with a Gesture game group by group.

  4. Present the word cold. Show Chen Jie on the screen who is in
