He was angry because he hadn’t seen Mary. 过去完成式不能单独存在，要与另一一般过去时从句或表过去的副词短语连用   He will have arrived in Chicago by this time tomorrow. When you come, everything will have been finished.   He was dying. He was going to die. He was about to die.   主句为一般过去时时，从属从句不得用表现在或将来的时态 I thought he had been working hard.   for/during/in/through/down through/over the past/last five years 过去五年来=since five years ago 这些短语与现在完成时或现在完成进行时连用 I have been studying English for the past two weeks.   since表自从，作介词，后面接名词或动名词 since后还可以引导一般过去时的状语从句,主句应用现在完成时或现在完成进行时 · I have lived here since 2000. · I have been studying English since I went to college.   since 之后必须接明确的某时间作宾语，不可以接一段时间作宾语,若接一段时间，需要在一段时间之后接ago Peter has lived here since two years ago.   现在完成时和现在完成进行时与for+一段时间连用时，该动词所表示的动作必须可持续进行 He has died for two months. 错误 He has married Jane for twenty years. 错误   It is three years since he died.
