onehandwithsignificantlybetterfunctionalitythantheotherseemsabitodd.Giveneverything
weknowaboutevolutionand“survivalofthefittest,”whyhaven’tweevolvedtohavetwo

We’vebeenyawningsincewewereinthewomb,andyetscientistsstillhaveyettofindan
explanationforwhy wedoit.Whilethere’snoshortageoftheories,thetruereasonfor
yawningremainsamystery.Onetheorysuggeststhatweyawntoregulatethetemperatureof
ourbrains,sincesleepdeprivationorboredom cancauseourbraintemperaturetodrop.
Anothersuggeststhatweyawntogiveourbodiesajolt,sinceourheartratestendtoincrease
andoureyemusclestenseupafterweyawn.Maybebotharetrue.
