Period Four　Writing—Non-chronological report：tourist guide 描写一个城市或地点是一种描述性的说明文文体。它主要说明或解释某一城市或地点的地理位置、外貌、环境、经济、文化、交通、历史演变、发展展望等，使读者获取信息。 一般说来，描述文的说明顺序主要有三种形式：时间顺序、空间顺序和逻辑顺序。 在写作时要注意： 1．客观、科学地介绍某一个城市或地点，内容应该突出特点，给人以可信的感觉； 2．层次清楚，条理分明； 3．注意合理地运用过渡词语，将各自然段有机地结合在一起，使整篇文章过渡自然、条理清晰； 4．要准确使用表示方位的词及短语，同时注意详略，重点部分要突出、详细描述。 1．常用短语： at the front/back of，with...in the centre/around a place；in front of，behind；next to，close to，in and around；on the left/right；in the south/west/east/north；on the other side/opposite side of，etc. 2．常用句型： (1)表示方位的句子： ①It lies/is located... ②It is in/on/to/off... ③It is the centre of... ④The office building is in the east of the campus. ⑤The monument，which was built in 1894，stands in the centre of the square.
