Goji Berries
The goji(枸杞)berry is a bright orange-red berry and it comes from China. In Asia, people use goji berries to try to treat many common health problems because they believe goji berries are rich in nutrients(营养物). Some studies using goji berry juice found possible benefits(好处)of it. For example, people say they develop a feeling of well-being and calmness because of it. Others report better sports performance and quality of sleep. Some people even become thinner while eating it. But it’s not clear if goji berries are better than other kinds of berries.
Chinese people have long believed that it has medicinal powers. It’s true that the ancient goji berry hnas long been part of Chinese culture. But times are changing for this simple(简单的)berry. Now it is being thought as a superfood all over the world.
Asia’s younger generation(一代人), the Gen Z, are embracing(接受) the goji berry in their own ways. Members of Gen Z, who were born around 1997-2012, are now buying “wellness kettles(养生壶)”for their goji berry tea. Their parents might recognize(认识)these as traditional soup kettles. According to a 2019 study on Gen Z in China, this generation sees living a healthy life as the most important thing, even over money, job, personal enjoyment and having a family.
The power of the goji berry doesn’t look as if it will dim anytime soon as there were a large number of goji berries sold in China during the sales on November 11th this year.
The berry has also become popular in foreign countries. People in the West are paying up to US $10 for a small bag of the superfood, around three times its price in Asia.
Some famous people such as Amrita Banta has seen young Asians embrace a healthier way of living: “There is in China a renewed pride in many traditional products and practices,” she said. “Yet, the popularity of goji berries comes on the back of a global awareness(意识)of their benefits. It is glad to see China becoming so proud of its past, yet so connected to the rest of the world.“
27.Why are the Asia’s younger generation embracing the goji berry?
A.Because their parents love the goji berry.
B.Because the goji berry goes with the wellness kettles.
C.Because the goji berry is a traditional Chinese medicine.
D.Because they believe that the goji berry is good for health.
28.The word “dim” in Paragraph 4 probably means “________”.
A.become less strong B.become less popular
C.become less believable D.become less expensive

A.The goji berry is more popular in the rest of the world than in China.
B.Thanks to the goji berry, Western people embrace a healthier way of life.
C.The goji berry becomes famous worldwide although it is unknown in China.
D.Chinese people are proud of the goji berry and make it popular across the world.

3D Printing Will Improve Our Food Choices
In early summer 2016, Londoners were treated to a new trend in dining. Food Ink, the world’s first 3D printing restaurant, opened to a special group of guests who dined on a nine-course meal prepared right before their eyes using 3D printers. Even the restaurant’s tables and chairs, lamps, cups, and plates were created with 3D technology. With London just the beginning, Food Ink plans to bring its creative restaurant form to a number of other cities around the world.
Like other 3D applications, printing food is a process that builds layers (层) upon layers of material on top of each other. Each layer is pushed through a print head to form an object with a desired shape, texture, size, and so on. Unlike other 3D printing, which uses spool (绕线轮) to create objects out of plastic, food materials in 3D printing are put into a syringe-like container (注射器形状的容器) which are then pressed into the shape required. Any food ingredients (原料) that can be pureed (煮成浓汤或者酱) or turned into a paste can be used in 3D food printing.
Fine dining is only one aspect of the food industry about to be improved by 3D printing. Researchers have been exploring ways to use 3D printing to deal with world hunger. Mass production of food using powdered (粉末状的) nutritional ingredients could help feed a growing population. The 3D-printed food would have the advantage of being produced cheaply and having a long shelf life. This is especially important with the world population projected to be 8.5 billion by 2030.
The technology will also enable consumers to quickly make meals with ingredients to suit their special health needs. Take the example of feeding elderly people, who often need to have their food pureed because they have problems with swallowing and chewing (咀嚼). Many elderly people did not like their food like this and so it discouraged them from eating. The Netherlands Organization for applied scientific research is turning to 3D printing to mash up peas, cabbages, and carrots to produce 3D-printed versions of the vegetables. These are easier to chew but hold their shape because of the addition of a gelling agent (胶凝剂). The 3D-printed vegetables are being served throughout nursing homes in Germany.
It seems that there is no end to the potential (潜力) of 3D printing. In 2013, NASA offered a large amount of money to develop a functional 3D food printer. The printer aims to create nutritional food to feed astronauts on long space missions. From creating special restaurant meals, to improving nutrition, to potentially feeding the world, 3D food printing is creating exciting new possibilities for food.
30.According to the passage, 3D food printing differs from other 3D printing in _____.
A.the way of creating objects out of materials
B.the desired shape of the 3D printed objects
C.the print heads for forming desired objects
D.the process of building layers of materials
31.What can we learn about 3D food printing?
A.3D food printing solves the elders’ eating problems with pureed food.
B.3D food printing is being developed for astronauts on space missions.
C.3D food printing ends world hunger with its cheaply-produced food.
D.3D food printing is being widely applied in fine dining restaurants.
32.What does Paragraph 4 mainly tell us?
A.Elderly people like to choose 3D-printed versions of the vegetables.
B.Consumers can use 3D food printing quickly to make healthy meals.
C.The Netherlands Organization is doing research on 3D food printing.
D.3D food printing technology will meet people’s special health needs.
33.What is the writer’s main purpose in writing this passage?
A.To explain how 3D food printing works.
B.To discuss what 3D food printing has brought us.
C.To show the possibilities created by 3D food printing.
D.To stress the importance of 3D food printing to the world.

Qingtuan: A Bite of Spring
For many in China, qingtuan is more than just a snack. Around Qingming Festival, people buy or make these green rice balls to “take a bite of spring”
Once a homemade food in Jiangnan, qingtuan has become a nationwide seasonal hit. Its popularity is driven by traditional taste, cultural meaning, and social media. On Xiaohongshu and Douyin, qingtuan-related content has gained billions of views.
Market data shows that tradition still anchors consumption (主导消费). A report found that 67% of consumers would recommend qingtuan products. Traditional flavors are the most preferred (43%), followed by new varieties (22%) and low-sugar choices (16%). The festive atmosphere (37%) and traditional customs(49%) are the main drivers of purchase (购买).
At the same time, new flavors keep appearing. Supermarkets now offer salted egg yolk, Thai-style salted cheese, and even qingtuan-inspired drinks. A Beijing fresh-food chain sells several hundred pieces daily. Two-piece packs cost 12 to 15 yuan. Time-honored brands like Beijing Daoxiangcun also sell gift sets during Qingming Festival, such as the “Spring Express” with taro paste and cheese, or grape and jasmine flavors.
For elder consumers, qingtuan carries memories of family, fields, and handmade spring food. For younger people, it’s about freshness, visual attraction, and sharing online. Reduced-sugar choices also matter for health-centered buyers. But at its heart, qingtuan remains a symbol of tradition, remembrance, and renewal. The growing popularity of qingtuan shows that Chinese tradition lasts because it doesn’t stand still, but moves with the times.
34.What percentage of consumers would recommend qingtuan products?
35.What do time-honored brands also sell during Qingming Festival?
36.Why does Chinese tradition last?
37.Would you like to try qingtuan? Why? (Give two reasons.)

A.Because their parents love the goji berry.

C.Because the goji berry is a traditional Chinese medicine.
D.Because they believe that the goji berry is good for health.
28.The word “dim” in Paragraph 4 probably means “________”.
A.become less strong B.become less popular
C.become less believable D.become less expensive
29.What can we learn from the passage?
A.The goji berry is more popular in the rest of the world than in China.

【答案】30.A 31.B 32.D 33.C
【导语】本文主要介绍了3D打印食物的优点以及这类食物的潜能。
【详解】30.细节理解题。根据第二段的“Unlike other 3D printing, which uses spool (绕线轮) to create objects out of plastic, food materials in 3D printing are put into a syringe-like container (注射器形状的容器) which are then pressed into the shape required. Any food ingredients (原料) that can be pureed (煮成浓汤或者酱) or turned into a paste can be used in 3D food printing.” 故选A。
31.细节理解题。根据最后一段的“In 2013, NASA offered a large amount of money to develop a functional 3D food printer. The printer aims to create nutritional food to feed astronauts on long space missions. ”可知2013年,NASA投入大量资金开发功能性3D食品打印机。该打印机旨在创造营养食品,为执行长期太空任务的宇航员提供食物。选项B符合。故选B。
32.主旨大意题。根据第四段的“The technology will also enable consumers to quickly make meals with ingredients to suit their special health needs. ”可知该技术还将使消费者能够快速使用食材制作餐点,以满足其特殊健康需求。因此选项D“3D食品打印技术将满足人们的特殊健康需求”符合。故选D。
33.主旨大意题。通读全文可知,主要介绍了3D打印食物的优点和应用,以及其未来可带来的积极影响,如在为宇航员提供食物方面,选项C“展示3D食品打印创造的可能性”符合。故选C。
