2. —Mr Zhang is short and fat. How about his son?
—________ his father, the boy is tall and thin.
A. Like B. Unlike C. Against D. Beyond
Like像;Unlike不像;Against反对;Beyond超过。根据“Mr Zhang is short and fat.”以及“the boy is tall and thin.”

【答案】A

6. —When will you visit the newly opened museum?
—Not until the present show ________.
A. is finished B. has finished C. will finish D. will be finished
【答案】A

see sb. doing sth.

as long as只要(引导条件状语从句);as well as和……一样好/也(后接名词或动词);as much as和…… 根据题干“kept so well”和“it looks ________ new”可知,保存得很好,所以看起来“几乎像新的一样”,as good as new表示“几乎像新的一样”,应填as good as。
9. —Could you tell me ________?
—Sure. He won the Nobel Prize for Physics last year.
A. what prize did the scientist get B. how the scientist won a great prize
C. what prize the scientist got D. that the scientist won a great prize

what prize did the scientist get这位科学家获得了什么奖(疑问语序,宾语从句需用陈述语序,错误);how the scientist won a great prize这位科学家如何赢得大奖(询问方式,与答语“诺贝尔物理学奖”不匹配);what prize the scientist got这位科学家获得了什么奖(陈述语序,询问内容,与答语匹配);that the scientist won a great prize这位科学家赢得了大奖(that引导陈述句,无实际疑问意义,不符合Could you tell me的询问语境)。根据答语“He won the Nobel Prize for Physics last year.”
10. —Tom, it’s said that you enjoy listening to Rock music.

______________
A special plant called the corpse flower (巨花魔芋) comes out this month in Australia. You can see a flower like this only once every few years. It does not smell sweet but like bad meat because it wants to draw in small insects to help it bring the pollen (花粉) to other places.
How Do Plants Work?
It’s a quarter past seven. Here’s Worker No.55 in his green clothes. He works in the leaf. He collects sunlight and CO₂ during the day. Workers from the roof give him water. Then the plant will make sugar, which is useful. It also makes oxygen. Animals and humans need oxygen to breathe.

Young people in China are showing off their style with fun bag charms (包挂). These small decorations hang from backpacks and swing as people walk. They help young people show who they are and create a new way of emotional connection.
There are all kinds of these bag charms. Some are soft, plush toys, while others get ideas from traditional Chinese culture or museum pieces. For example, Xi’an Momo Dolls and Sanxingdui’s Bronze Mask series reimagine traditional elements (元素) into new forms. These “China-chic” designs turn bag charms into cultural bridges between the past and present.
These charms offer more than just a decorative touch; they play a key role in breaking the ice among strangers. A shared charm can help people connect with just a smile. As the Chinese New Year came near, Vicky, who lives in Nanjing, bought clothes not just for her family, but for her charms. “I match charms to my mood and clothes,” she explains. “Sometimes they feel like emotional codes—shared understanding brings quick connections at once.”
The charms have become popular because of the new and better ways of making them in places like Guangdong. Dongguan, known as the “designer toy capital”, has thousands of factories using smart technology to create new designs quickly. Today, these charms are reshaping the international image of “Made in China” by telling stories based on local creativity. These small items are building emotional ties with customers around the world and showing special Eastern beauty.
A Grade-10 student from Nanjing shared her thoughts. “Every time I see the same charm on a stranger’s backpack, it feels like discovering a tiny bridge linking two unknown hearts.” Dr Zhang, a teacher from Guangdong University of Finance & Economics, also put forward his view: “If fashionable small goods rush into teenagers’ daily life endlessly, will the nice glow of such lovely accessories (配饰) finally change into meaningless desire?”
29. What can we learn about Sanxingdui Bronze Mask bag charms?
A. They are real ancient museum works.
B. They mainly spread culture inside museums.
C. They are expensive gifts for museum visitors.
D. They carry ancient cultural elements in new forms.
30. What does the writer want to tell us by saying “Sometimes they feel like emotional codes”?
A. Bag charms hold hidden symbols. B. Teens leave messages on their charms.
C. People buy clothes just for charms. D. Shared charms can quickly connect people.
31. What can we infer from Dr Zhang’s words in the last paragraph?
A. The popularity of bag charms may bring a hidden problem.
B. Teenagers must stop buying bag charms right now.
C. Lovely accessories will never lose their beauty.
D. All fashionable small goods are meaningless desire.
32. What is the main idea of the passage?
A. Dongguan’s toy factories are famous for smart technology.
B. China-chic bag charms are sold all over the world.
C. Bag charms are popular for their cultural and emotional value, with some worries.
D. Young people in Nanjing like to share the same bag charms with strangers.
D 30. D 31. A 32. C
第二段“Some are soft, plush toys, while others get ideas from traditional Chinese culture or museum pieces. For example... Sanxingdui's Bronze Mask series reimagine traditional elements into new forms.”,明确说明三星堆青铜面具包挂是以新形式承载了古代文化元素。
【30题详解】
推理判断题。第三段“A shared charm can help people connect with just a smile.”
根据最后一段张博士的话“If fashionable small goods rush into teenagers’ daily life endlessly, will the nice glow of such lovely accessories finally change into meaningless desire?”(如果时尚小商品无休止地涌入青少年的日常生活,这些可爱配饰的美好光芒最终会不会变成毫无意义的欲望?),可以推断出张博士在担忧包挂的过度流行可能会带来隐患(如盲目消费、物质主义等)。
通读全文可知,文章主要介绍了包挂因其文化和情感价值而流行,同时在结尾提到了专家对其过度流行的担忧,“Bag charms are popular for their cultural and emotional value, with some worries”概括最全面。
C
Imagine a sports car turning upside down in the air. On October 15, 2026, Tesla showed its redesigned Roadster at a SpaceX test site in Texas, the US. It was October 16 in Beijing. During the demonstration (演示), the car climbed a curved ramp (弯曲坡道), flipped (翻转) through the air and landed. It also jumped over a line of Tesla vehicles.
How did it work? Engineers from Tesla and SpaceX worked together. Special thrusters (推进器) release compressed (压缩的) gas to push the car without burning fuel. Powerful fans pull air out from beneath the car, lowering the air pressure there. Higher pressure outside presses the car towards the surface. This suction (吸力) improves its grip: the tyres hold on more firmly instead of slipping. Fans help the car stick to a surface, while thrusters help it leave the ground.
However, the show needs a closer look. Tesla first presented a prototype (原型车) of the next Roadster in 2017 and planned production for 2020. That did not happen. Musk now says production is planned for 2028. The event did not provide a final price for the new car. The name Roadster covers several versions. In China, reservations (预订) are open for the Performance version, which lacks the full flight system. The flight-capable Rocket version has not been approved (批准) for public roads.
The demonstration makes a once strange idea easier to imagine, but several questions remain. When will customers receive their cars? How useful will the new abilities be outside a test site? A successful show is an exciting step, yet a practical product must work reliably (可靠地) in real life. The Roadster invites us to enjoy innovation while looking carefully at what has actually been proved.
33. What did the Roadster do during the demonstration?
A. It flew from Texas to Beijing. B. It jumped over several Tesla vehicles.
C. It carried customers to the test site. D. It stayed in the air throughout the show.
34. What does the underlined word “grip” mean?
A. The speed of turning wheels. B. The distance a vehicle can travel.
C. The power to rise into the air. D. The ability to hold onto a surface.
35. Why does the writer mention the plans for 2020 and 2028?
A. To show that production has been delayed.
B. To compare the speeds of two versions.
C. To explain why the first Roadster failed a test.
D. To describe how the flight system was built.
36. What can a reader reasonably conclude about the Roadster?
A. Every version will perform the same air tricks.
B. The next Roadster will certainly arrive in 2028.
C. A car’s version matters when judging its abilities.
D. The Rocket version can already use public roads.
B 34. D 35. A 36. C

第三段提到:“Tesla first presented a prototype (原型车) of the next Roadster in 2017 and planned production for 2020. That did not happen. Musk now says production is planned for 2028.”,表明原定2020年的量产计划并未实现,如今量产计划延后至2028年,作者提及这两个年份是为了说明量产已经被推迟。
【36题详解】
推理判断题。第三段提到:“The name Roadster covers several versions. In China, reservations (预订) are open for the Performance version, which lacks the full flight system. The flight-capable Rocket version has not been approved (批准) for public roads.”,表明Roadster有多个版本,不同版本的功能和使用权限存在差异,因此判断车辆的能力时,版本是重要的参考因素。

Tom and Becky walked into the cave, holding their candles high. They saw wonderful rocks that looked like frozen waterfalls. They walked deeper and deeper into the cave, forgetting the way back. No one else came to this part of the cave, because everyone thought it was an endless maze.
When they finally realized they were lost, their candles were almost burned out. Becky cried. “Tom, I’m so scared. We should never have come here. No one will find us!”
Tom held her hand and said, “Don’t worry, Becky. I will get us out of here. I’ll find the way.”
Tom blew out Becky’s candle to save the wax. He used his last candle to look for the way out. He walked from one tunnel to another, but every tunnel led to a dead end. Then, when he turned a corner, he saw a man holding a candle in the distance. Tom shouted with joy, but the man ran away quickly. It was Injun Joe, the murderer. Tom was too scared to move. He knew Injun Joe would kill him if he found Tom. But Tom didn’t tell Becky about Injun Joe. He didn’t want her to be more scared.
He kept looking for the way out. Three days passed. They had no food or water. Becky was too weak to walk. Tom gave her his last piece of cake, and told her he would find a way out. He took the candle and went into a small tunnel. He crawled for a long time. Then, he saw a small light at the end of the tunnel. It was sunlight! He had found the exit!
He went back to get Becky, and helped her crawl to the exit. They climbed out of the cave, and found they were five miles away from the entrance. Some people on a boat saw them and took them back to the town. Everyone was so happy to see them and amazed at what had happened to them.
