American country music is also known as (被视为) country Western music. It has a very long history. It comes from the folk songs of immigrants (移民) from Britain.

It talks about friends and enemies, trucks and roads, farms and crops. People in many parts of the world like country music, because everyone can understand what the music is about.

When cowboys visited their friends and family on holidays, they usually sang and played country Western music.

Yingge dance has just become more popular. During the past Spring Festival, a team of Yingge dancers from South China’s Guangdong Province amazed people in London. The sound of drums, gongs and shouts echoed (回响) throughout London’s streets. It is the first time that the Yingge dance, a national cultural heritage (文化遗产) in China, has been performed overseas.
A viewer named Lucy said, “Watching the dance was like stepping into a different world with the vivid colors, the lively expressions of the dancers. We don’t get to see things like that here. I was left in amazement by the ancient dance.” “We’ve waited for 300 years for the dance group to come to Europe. I have to say, it was well worth the wait. It has stood out,” said another.
Meaningfully translated as the “Songs of Heroes” dance, the 300-year-old dance rose from Chaozhou—Shantou region in Guangdong. Based on the stories of the 108 heroes of Liangshan Mountain from the classic novel Outlaws of the Marsh, with Shuihu Zhuan as its Chinese name, this folk art mixes a variety of forms, from martial (军事的) arts and Chinese opera to dance.
The lead dancer, “Shi Qian”, holds a snake in his hands, whose style of dancing is thought to drive off ghosts. Other performers each dress as one of the 108 heroes. They also wear different opera-style makeups, according to their roles. Dancers wave a pair of short sticks and make powerful movements. They hit the sticks together now and then while walking and dancing.
The coach, Chen Laifa, is a national-level inheritor of Yingge dance. ① “When it first appeared 300 years ago, Yingge was a celebration of the success of goodness over evil, and nowadays it is seen as a peace messenger,” said Chen. “We would like to make this spirit known to the British people and, at the same time, as the spreading of our culture.”
61. Where does Yingge dance come from?
A. North China. B. London streets. C. Overseas. D. Guangdong Province.
62. Why did Lucy say that they had waited for 300 years?
A. To show how she loved Yingge Dance. B. To tell how old the city of London was.

It was a Monday morning in April. Tina was sitting on a train to school, feeling a bit sleepy. She was reading a book when a voice came from the speaker. Usually, train announcements (通告) were boring, but this one made her look up.
“Good morning, everyone!” said the trainman. “It’s 7:35 a. m., and I’m happy to tell you we’ll arrive right on time. Look at Sydney today! The sun is shining brightly, like a big golden apple in the sky. The temperature is 21 degrees—just perfect for a walk in the park. Listen! Can you hear the birds singing outside? They sound like a little band welcoming the day. Thank you for choosing our train. I hope you have a wonderful day ahead!”
Around her, people were smiling! A lady next to her said, “What a nice way to start the day!” A boy in a school uniform turned to his friend and laughed, “Did he just call the sun a golden apple?” An old grandpa said, “Young people today need more kindness like this.” Even strangers started chatting about the beautiful words.
When the train stopped, Tina saw a young man with a uniform standing by the door. She realized it was him—the trainman! His name tag said “Tom”. Tina walked up to him shyly. “Hi, Tom! I just wanted to say thank you for your announcement. It made everyone so happy,” she said. Tom looked surprised at first, then his face turned red. “Oh, really? That’s nice to hear. I just thought... mornings can be hard, so why not add some sunshine?” he replied, smiling nervously.
That day, Tina learned two important lessons. First, when people love their jobs, their happiness shows in small, kind actions—like a trainman’s warm words. Second, saying “thank you” can make someone’s day great, especially when they don’t expect it. She wondered if Tom would go home and tell his family, “A girl thanked me today! Can you believe it?”
Years later, Tina still remembers that morning. A simple, kind message had turned a usual train ride into a heartwarming story.
66. According to the passage, what does the golden apple stand for?
A. The name of a book. B. The sun in the sky. C. The apple on the tree. D. The birds outside.
67. What kind of voice might the trainman use to make this announcement?
A. Warm and cheerful. B. Humorous and lovely.
C. Strange and excited. D. Calm and common.
68. The sentence, “Then, Tina noticed something amazing”, can be put at the beginning of ________.
A. Paragraph Two B. Paragraph Three C. Paragraph Four D. Paragraph Five
69. What can be inferred from Tina and Tom’s conversation in Paragraph 4?
A. Both Tina and Tom were shy.
B. Tom received “Thanks” every day.
C. Tina and Tom knew each other before.
D. Not everybody liked Tom’s announcement.
70. What did Tina learn from the trip?
A. One shouldn’t be too shy to say thanks.
B. One should find a kind trainman for a trip.
C. One should choose to travel on a sunny day.
D. One should love work and stay grateful (感激的).

Steps to deal with regrets (懊悔)
Here are three steps you can take the next time you find yourself thinking about your past mistakes.
People often say their regrets trouble them. This suggests that the regret is like a ghost: not clear but always scary (吓人的). Bring your ghost out of your mind by making a list of your regrets. Write down why each one still troubles you. Be honest. For example, note not only that you hurt a friend’s feelings through your own mistake, but also that this almost certainly didn’t destroy the person’s life.
After you make a mistake, life moves on. But sometimes you just keep kicking yourself. Perhaps you dropped out of school many years ago and are always thinking today how much money you would be making if you had finished school. In other words, you have chosen a life sentence for a poor decision you made in the past. However, you may make more today if you work hard. Change your idea with a simple saying, “I will not waste another minute of my life thinking of a decision that cannot be changed.”
The regret is like a school run by human nature. If you never experienced regrets, you would keep repeating the same behaviours that led you to miss chances. Your regret can teach you to become smarter and more successful—if you let it. In your list of regrets, also note how you want to change your behaviour. Next, list all the ways that you can use in your own skills and improvement right now—and get started.
Obsessing (念念不忘) about regrets does harm to you. Trying to live without regrets is a lost opportunity to grow. Life is a journey full of pleasures and pains. To live it well and fully means learning from every bit of it, including the mistakes, and moving forward.

A. The name of a book. B. The sun in the sky. C. The apple on the tree. D. The birds outside.
67. What kind of voice might the trainman use to make this announcement?
A. Warm and cheerful. B. Humorous and lovely.
C. Strange and excited. D. Calm and common.
68. The sentence, “Then, Tina noticed something amazing”, can be put at the beginning of ________.
A. Paragraph Two B. Paragraph Three C. Paragraph Four D. Paragraph Five

70. What did Tina learn from the trip?
A. One shouldn’t be too shy to say thanks.
