O O It wasn't until her younger brother,Leo,joined and complained about the club's trouble that Mila paid attention.Leo loved nature photography, but the club had just three broken cameras,no money for supplies, and was at risk of closing. The club was founded in 1985,and the number of its members had dropped from 25 to 8 by 2022. When help is needed,Mila doesn't hesitate to volunteer. She'd always taken charge of her neighborhood's small craft fairs, making sure every detail fell into place,so she felt confident she could turn the situation around. 成 She talked to advisor Mr.Brown, and then mapped out steps to attract students and raise funds. Mila first started"Photo for a Cause".Every weekend, she and club members set up a small table in the park : with a sign explaining their goal, but people walked past quickly, speaking quietly that the teens might be keeping 性 the donations for themselves instead of helping the club. But slowly, things changed. One Saturday,an elderly lady O ○ asked them to take a photo of her with her grandson;she donated $20 and said,"It's lovely to see young people caring about something other than screens."After that, more families stopped by."People support us because they like kids loving art,"Mila said. The project raised $1,200,enough for four cameras, photo paper, and editing software. : With new supplies, the club grew.It held bi-monthly library photo exhibitions, and one of the most popular 松 席 displays was Leo's photo of pink cherry tree flowers in the park. Many classmates said it made them notice the town's beauty.By 2024,members rose to 32.Mila said helping brought joy."We saved the club and got kids off : phones to see beauty, and Leo,now active, won a local photo contest last month. That makes me proud." 24.What problem had the photography club faced? Meacham-Hensold and her colleagues at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign had engineered the potato to overcome a major limitation in plant biology:a wasteful,heat-triggered process called photorespiration( 呼吸). : This occurs when RuBisCO,a key photosynthesis enzyme(光合作用),accidentally captures oxygen instead of carbon dioxide, creating an unwanted byproduct. This error becomes more frequent at high temperatures, O gobbling up energy that would otherwise contribute to growth and potentially reducing crop yields by up to 50 percent. To solve this problem, the team introduced a new gene that produced a protein capable of breaking down the : unwanted by-product inside the cells'photosynthesis centers. As a result, the plant didn't need to process or transport 桨 the by-product elsewhere. This saved energy, similar to how eating local food saves the energy of trucking it across the country. The results are exciting, says biochemist Edward Smith of the University of Oxford, although he'd like to see : : data from future growing seasons. : The new technique could help crops adapt to climate change.Similar strategies have been used previously in O rice, but this study is the first to show that it doesn't cause a decrease in a food crop's nutritional quality. : Meacham-Hensold and her team froze and ground up the tubers to measure their fiber, sugars, protein, calcium, iron, and vitamins. Next the researchers are working on soybeans and cowpeas;the latter is "a hugely important food-security 女 crop in African countries,"Meacham-Hensold says.A high-yield soybean variety with the same genetic change will hit the field this year. 28.How did Meacham-Hensold initially feel when the heat wave hit? A.Concerned. B.Relieved. C.Astonished. D.Pessimistic. 29.What do the underlined words"gobbling up"in paragraph 3 probably mean? O A.Storing. B.Collecting. C.Releasing D.Consuming. 30.What is special about the new technique in this study? A.It improves crops'natural flavor. B.It shortens crops'growing seasons C.It preserves crops'nutritional value. D.It helps crops adapt to climate change. 31.What is the researchers'next move regarding the new technique? A.Apply it to other crops. B.Promote it among farmers. C.Evaluate its impact on food security. D.Study its performance across seasons. D You're at a theme park. After a 45-minute wait in the heat, your feet ache and you wonder why you're bothering. But then you get on the ride. It's thrilling. You reach the peak)of the rollercoaster and let out an excited roar. You step off and feel alive. The irritation of the queue couldn't be further from your mind. This illustrates the peak-end rule,a psychological bias()where we judge an experience based on how we felt at its most intense moment (the peak)and its conclusion(the end),rather than an average of how we felt throughout the entire experience. The model was proposed by psychologists Barbara Fredrickson and Daniel Kahneman. In their 1993 study, participants put one hand in 14C water for 60 seconds. In the second trial, they put the other hand in 14C water for 60 seconds, and kept it there for another 30 seconds while the temperature was gradually raised to 15C.Asked which trial they would repeat, most chose the second, despite spending longer in cold water. Since then, the peak-end rule has been observed in many areas of life.Patients may rate painful medical procedures more favourably if they are slightly longer but end with a gradual decrease in pain. But the rule can also work the other way around.Life coach Latasha Baynham notes that a painful departure from a job can overshadow years of good work. Our brains do this because we tend to have a better memory of highly emotional events. To break free, Baynham suggests separating what happened from what we've decided it means. One way is to divide a page into two columns.Write down the facts in one and the story you have attached to them in the other."My role was removed is a fact;"I'm not as good as I thought"'is a story. Then recover the rest of the evidence and consider the whole experience. The aim isn't to pretend a difficult experience did not matter, but to stop one part of the story from becoming the whole truth.Becoming aware of how we subconsciously rewrite our experiences can help us find balance and self-compassion. 32.Which situation best illustrates the peak-end rule? A.Jack enjoys every part of a concert equally. B.Tom feels tired after studying for several hours. C.The smell of fresh bread makes Emma feel hungry. D.A lovely final dinner makes Lily recall a dull trip fondly 试题第6页(共10页) @学科网·学易金卷做树:就限是普 33.Why did most participants choose the second trial in the 1993 study? A.It lasted for a longer time. B.It ended with less discomfort. C.It used a more familiar method. D.It caused less pain throughout the trial. 34.What does paragraph 4 mainly discuss? A.How the rule affects real-life judgments. B.How job satisfaction relates to physical pain. C.Why emotional events are remembered clearly.D.Why longer treatments may earn higher ratings. 35.What would someone following Baynham's advice most likely do after losing a job? A.Put the experience aside until they feel ready to reflect. B.View the experience as a sign they should change careers. C.Identify who was responsible before deciding how to respond. D.Review their overall performance before drawing conclusions. 第二节共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 The Observant Gardener:Tending to Daily Garden Chores Now that fall has begun,I have been reflecting on this year's growing season.36 Weeding, cutting overgrown plants, cleaning out beds, watering when conditions are dry-the list goes on and on.All of these add up to a garden that is tended to and functioning well. By October every year,I start to clean up my garden to prepare for winter.I remove dead plants from their beds and put them into the fertilizer bin.I cut back evergreens and remove dead ones.37 At the same time,I plant daffodils for next spring. Each season has its own chores to prepare for the upcoming season. 38 During my time there,I saw varying results. One woman started in the spring with great energy and attention, but after a short time, she lost interest.By August, she was not visiting her plot and her vegetables began to rot,unpicked.39 Over the summer they harvested abundant flowers and vegetables because they consistently tended to their plants. As I work on the garden after my vacations,I realize that I do many garden chores almost every day without much effort. It takes only a few minutes to weed one small area or to pick ripe pumpkins. For these chores,I rely on my garden tools, gloves and boots.40 Successful gardening amounts to paying attention and following through with what needs to be done at any one time.Whatever we put our attention on will flourish, and a flourishing garden can give us much enjoyment. A.I have leamned that daily garden chores matter. B.Other gardeners paid close attention to their plots. C.Having the right tool is essential to work effectively. D.Fall is also the time to note what grew well in my journal. E.The changing seasons remind us that nature follows its own rhythm. As a young boy, John was shy, not wanting to hang out with people of his age. John commented that school was hard because reading and writing were extremely slow for him. In 1965, John left the University of Montana and was drafted into the army. He served for about three years before he returned and tried school again. However, he dropped out in 1972. John didn’t give up on his dream job. He applied to many museums for any job that was willing to hire him. He accepted a position at Princeton University’s Natural History Museum as a technician. After the museum noticed his expertise, he moved up to research assistant and eventually managed his own projects. It was during the mid-1970s that John and a colleague discovered the first concrete evidence that dinosaurs cared for their young. John currently works at Chapman University as a principal. 第二部分 阅读(共两节, 满分50分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题2.5分, 满分37.5分) 阅读下列短文, 从每题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中选出最佳选项。 A What’s a BioBlitz? It wasn’t until her younger brother, Leo, joined and complained about the club’s trouble that Mila paid attention. Leo loved nature photography, but the club had just three broken cameras, no money for supplies, and was at risk of closing. The club was founded in 1985, and the number of its members had dropped from 25 to 8 by 2022. When help is needed, Mila doesn’t hesitate to volunteer. She’d always taken charge of her neighborhood’s small craft fairs, making sure every detail fell into place, so she felt confident she could turn the situation around. She talked to advisor Mr. Brown, and then mapped out steps to attract students and raise funds. Mila first started “Photo for a Cause”. Every weekend, she and club members set up a small table in the park with a sign explaining their goal, but people walked past quickly, speaking quietly that the teens might be keeping the donations for themselves instead of helping the club. But slowly, things changed. One Saturday, an elderly lady asked them to take a photo of her with her grandson; she donated $20 and said, “It’s lovely to see young people caring about something other than screens.” After that, more families stopped by. “People support us because they like kids loving art,” Mila said. The project raised $1,200, enough for four cameras, photo paper, and editing software. With new supplies, the club grew. It held bi-monthly library photo exhibitions, and one of the most popular displays was Leo’s photo of pink cherry tree flowers in the park. Many classmates said it made them notice the town’s beauty. By 2024, members rose to 32. Mila said helping brought joy. “We saved the club and got kids off phones to see beauty, and Leo, now active, won a local photo contest last month. That makes me proud.” 24. What problem had the photography club faced? A. The lack of professional guidance. B. The inexperience of its members. C. Outdated photography techniques. D. Too little equipment. 25. What can be inferred about Mila from paragraph 3? A. She’s well-known in school. B. She’s a frequent funder of others. C. She’s a skilled photographer. D. She’s good at organizing. 26. What was the people’s initial attitude to “Photo for a Cause”? A. Supportive. B. Doubtful. C. Mixed. D. Unclear. 27. What can be a suitable title for the text? A. A Club’s Decline B. A Photography Contest C. Bringing New Life to a Club D. Raising Funds for More Clubs 【答案】24. D 25. D 26. B 27. C 【导语】本文是一篇记叙文。主要讲述美国高中生米拉帮助濒临解散的摄影俱乐部筹款、招新,使其重获生机的故事。 24. 细节理解题。根据第二段中的“Leo loved nature photography, but the club had just three broken cameras, no money for supplies, and was at risk of closing.(利奥热爱自然摄影,但俱乐部只有三台坏掉的相机,没有购买耗材的资金,甚至面临解散的风险。)”可知,摄影俱乐部面临的问题是设备匮乏(仅三台坏相机)且无耗材资金,核心问题为设备不足。故选D项。 25. 推理判断题。根据第三段中的“She’d always taken charge of her neighborhood’s small craft fairs, making sure every detail fell into place, so she felt confident she could turn the situation around. She talked to advisor Mr. Brown, and then mapped out steps to attract students and raise funds.(她过去一直负责社区的小型手工艺品集市,确保每个细节都安排妥当,因此她有信心扭转局面。她先与指导老师布朗先生沟通,随后制定了吸引学生加入和筹集资金的详细计划。)”可知,米拉有负责活动、统筹细节、制定计划的经历,可推断她擅长组织协调。故选D项。 26. 推理判断题。根据第四段中的“Every weekend, she and club members set up a small table in the park with a sign explaining their goal, but people walked past quickly, speaking quietly that the teens might be keeping the donations for themselves instead of helping the club.(每个周末,她和俱乐部成员都会在公园摆一张小桌子,放上写有活动目标的告示牌,但人们总是匆匆走过,还低声议论这些青少年可能会把捐款据为己有,而非用于帮助俱乐部。)”可知,人们最初对“以摄影行善”活动持怀疑态度。故选B项。 27. 主旨大意题。通读全文,结合第二段俱乐部濒临解散的困境、第四段筹款成功、第五段俱乐部成员增至32人并举办展览可知,文章核心是米拉通过努力让摄影俱乐部重获新生。所以C选项“让俱乐部重焕生机”为最佳标题。故选C项。 C When an extreme heat wave struck Illinois in June 2022, crop physiologist Katherine Meacham-Hensold hoped her team’s new bioengineered potato variety would survive it — but she was astonished by just how well it thrived. The plant yielded 30 percent more of its large red tubers than a normal, unengineered plant in the same conditions, according to a recent study in Global Change Biology. Meacham-Hensold and her colleagues at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign had engineered the potato to overcome a major limitation in plant biology: a wasteful, heat-triggered process called photorespiration(光呼吸). This occurs when RuBisCO, a key photosynthesis enzyme(光合作用酶), accidentally captures oxygen instead of carbon dioxide, creating an unwanted byproduct. This error becomes more frequent at high temperatures, gobbling up energy that would otherwise contribute to growth and potentially reducing crop yields by up to 50 percent. To solve this problem, the team introduced a new gene that produced a protein capable of breaking down the unwanted by-product inside the cells’ photosynthesis centers. As a result, the plant didn’t need to process or transport the by-product elsewhere. This saved energy, similar to how eating local food saves the energy of trucking it across the country. The results are exciting, says biochemist Edward Smith of the University of Oxford, although he’d like to see data from future growing seasons. The new technique could help crops adapt to climate change. Similar strategies have been used previously in rice, but this study is the first to show that it doesn’t cause a decrease in a food crop’s nutritional quality. Meacham-Hensold and her team froze and ground up the tubers to measure their fiber, sugars, protein, calcium, iron, and vitamins. Next the researchers are working on soybeans and cowpeas; the latter is “a hugely important food-security crop in African countries,” Meacham-Hensold says. A high-yield soybean variety with the same genetic change will hit the field this year. 28. How did Meacham-Hensold initially feel when the heat wave hit? A. Concerned. B. Relieved. C. Astonished. D. Pessimistic. 29. What do the underlined words “gobbling up” in paragraph 3 probably mean? A. Storing. B. Collecting. C. Releasing. D. Consuming. 30. What is special about the new technique in this study? A. It improves crops’ natural flavor. B. It shortens crops’ growing seasons. C. It preserves crops’ nutritional value. D. It helps crops adapt to climate change. 31. What is the researchers’ next move regarding the new technique? A. Apply it to other crops. B. Promote it among farmers. C. Evaluate its impact on food security. D. Study its performance across seasons. 【答案】28. A 29. D 30. C 31. A 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍了作物生理学家Katherine Meacham-Hensold及其团队如何通过生物工程技术改良土豆品种,以克服植物生物学中的一个主要限制——光呼吸过程,并详细说明了这一改良技术的原理、效果以及潜在的应用前景。 28. 推理判断题。根据文章第一段“When an extreme heat wave struck Illinois in June 2022, crop physiologist Katherine Meacham-Hensold hoped her team’s new bioengineered potato variety would survive it—but she was astonished by just how well it thrived.(2022年6月,当一股极端热浪袭击伊利诺伊州时,作物生理学家Katherine Meacham-Hensold希望她团队新培育的经过生物工程改造的马铃薯品种能够经受住考验,但该品种的茁壮成长程度还是让她大为惊讶)”可知,当极端热浪袭击伊利诺伊州时,作物生理学家Katherine Meacham-Hensold希望她团队新的经过生物工程改造的马铃薯品种能够存活下来,“希望”一词表明她起初对马铃薯品种能否存活的担忧。故选A。 29. 词句猜测题。根据划线单词所在句“This error becomes more frequent at high temperatures, gobbling up energy that would otherwise contribute to growth and potentially reducing crop yields by up to 50 percent.(在高温环境下,这种错误发生得更为频繁,它会gobbling up本可用于植物生长的能量,并且有可能使作物减产多达50%)”可知,这里说的是高温时这种错误变得更频繁,会对本应促进生长的能量产生某种影响,且可能使作物产量降低多达50%,从“降低产量”可推断出是消耗了能量。由此可知,划线短语的意思应该和“消耗”相似。选项D“Consuming”,意为“消耗”,与此相符。故选D。 30. 细节理解题。根据文章第六段“The new technique could help crops adapt to climate change. Similar strategies have been used previously in rice, but this study is the first to show that it doesn’t cause a decrease in a food crop’s nutritional quality.(这项新技术有助于作物适应气候变化。此前,类似的策略已在水稻上得到应用,但这项研究首次表明,这种技术不会导致粮食作物的营养品质下降)”可知,此前类似的策略已在水稻上应用,但这项研究首次表明该技术不会导致粮食作物营养品质下降,即它能保持作物的营养价值。故选C。 31. 推理判断题。根据文章最后一段“Next the researchers are working on soybeans and cowpeas; the latter is “a hugely important food-security crop in African countries,” Meacham-Hensold says. A high-yield soybean variety with the same genetic change will hit the field this year.(接下来,研究人员将致力于研究大豆和豇豆;Meacham-Hensold说,豇豆是“在非洲国家是一种极其重要的粮食安全作物”。今年,一种经过相同基因改造的高产大豆品种将进入田间试验阶段)”可知,研究人员接下来将致力于将这项新技术应用于大豆和豇豆上。由此推知,他们的下一步行动是将新技术应用于其他作物。故选A。 D You’re at a theme park. After a 45-minute wait in the heat, your feet ache and you wonder why you’re bothering. But then you get on the ride. It’s thrilling. You reach the peak(顶峰) of the rollercoaster and let out an excited roar. You step off and feel alive. The irritation of the queue couldn’t be further from your mind. This illustrates the peak-end rule, a psychological bias(心理偏差) where we judge an experience based on how we felt at its most intense moment (the peak) and its conclusion (the end), rather than an average of how we felt throughout the entire experience. The model was proposed by psychologists Barbara Fredrickson and Daniel Kahneman. In their 1993 study, participants put one hand in 14℃ water for 60 seconds. In the second trial, they put the other hand in 14℃ water for 60 seconds, and kept it there for another 30 seconds while the temperature was gradually raised to 15℃. Asked which trial they would repeat, most chose the second, despite spending longer in cold water. Since then, the peak-end rule has been observed in many areas of life. Patients may rate painful medical procedures more favourably if they are slightly longer but end with a gradual decrease in pain. But the rule can also work the other way around. Life coach Latasha Baynham notes that a painful departure from a job can overshadow years of good work. Our brains do this because we tend to have a better memory of highly emotional events. To break free, Baynham suggests separating what happened from what we’ve decided it means. One way is to divide a page into two columns. Write down the facts in one and the story you have attached to them in the other. “My role was removed” is a fact; “I’m not as good as I thought” is a story. Then recover the rest of the evidence and consider the whole experience. The aim isn’t to pretend a difficult experience did not matter, but to stop one part of the story from becoming the whole truth. Becoming aware of how we subconsciously rewrite our experiences can help us find balance and self-compassion. 32. Which situation best illustrates the peak-end rule? A. Jack enjoys every part of a concert equally. B. Tom feels tired after studying for several hours. C. The smell of fresh bread makes Emma feel hungry. D. A lovely final dinner makes Lily recall a dull trip fondly. 33. Why did most participants choose the second trial in the 1993 study? A. It lasted for a longer time. B. It ended with less discomfort. C. It used a more familiar method. D. It caused less pain throughout the trial. 34. What does paragraph 4 mainly discuss? A. How the rule affects real-life judgments. B. How job satisfaction relates to physical pain. C. Why emotional events are remembered clearly. D. Why longer treatments may earn higher ratings. 35. What would someone following Baynham’s advice most likely do after losing a job? A. Put the experience aside until they feel ready to reflect. B. View the experience as a sign they should change careers. C. Identify who was responsible before deciding how to respond. D. Review their overall performance before drawing conclusions. 【答案】32. D 33. B 34. A 35. D 【导语】本文介绍峰终定律:人们依靠一段经历的情绪峰值和结尾感受评判体验,而非全程感受。介绍冷水实验,列举生活实例,并给出方法,避免仅凭片段感受对经历片面评价。 32. 细节理解题。根据第二段“This illustrates the peak-end rule, a psychological bias (心理偏差) where we judge an experience based on how we felt at its most intense moment (the peak) and its conclusion (the end), rather than an average of how we felt throughout the entire experience.(这就体现了峰终定律,一种心理偏差:我们评判一段经历时,依据的是感受最强烈的时刻(峰值)和这段经历的收尾时刻(终点),而不是整个过程里所有感受的平均值)”可知,一顿美好的晚餐让莉莉深情回忆起一次乏味的旅行最能体现“峰终定律”。 33. 细节理解题。根据第三段“In the second trial, they put the other hand in 14℃ water for 60 seconds, and kept it there for another 30 seconds while the temperature was gradually raised to 15℃. Asked which trial they would repeat, most chose the second, despite spending longer in cold water.(在第二次试验中,他们将另一只手放入14℃的水中60秒,然后继续保持30秒,期间水温逐渐升至15℃。当被问及会选择重复哪一次试验时,大多数人选择了第二次,尽管他们在冷水中停留的时间更长)”可知,大多数参与者在1993年的研究中选择了第二次试验是因为它结束时的不适感更小。 34. 主旨大意题。根据第四段“Since then, the peak-end rule has been observed in many areas of life. Patients may rate painful medical procedures more favourably if they are slightly longer but end with a gradual decrease in pain. But the rule can also work the other way around. Life coach Latasha Baynham notes that a painful departure from a job can overshadow years of good work.(此后,峰终定律在生活的许多方面都得到了体现。患者可能会对疼痛的医疗程序给予更积极的评价,如果过程稍长一些,但最终疼痛感逐渐减轻。然而,这一法则也可能反过来起作用。人生教练拉塔莎·贝恩汉指出,一次痛苦的离职可能掩盖了多年来的出色工作成果)”可知,第4段主要讨论了该规则如何影响现实生活中的判断。 35. 细节理解题。根据第五段“Baynham suggests separating what happened from what we’ve decided it means. One way is to divide a page into two columns. Write down the facts in one and the story you have attached to them in the other. “My role was removed” is a fact; “I’m not as good as I thought” is a story. Then recover the rest of the evidence and consider the whole experience.(贝恩汉建议把发生的客观事实和我们主观赋予这件事的解读区分开。 The Observant Gardener: Tending to Daily Garden Chores Now that fall has begun, I have been reflecting on this year’s growing season. 36 Weeding, cutting overgrown plants, cleaning out beds, watering when conditions are dry — the list goes on and on. All of these add up to a garden that is tended to and functioning well. By October every year, I start to clean up my garden to prepare for winter. I remove dead plants from their beds and put them into the fertilizer bin. I cut back evergreens and remove dead ones. 37 At the same time, I plant daffodils for next spring. Each season has its own chores to prepare for the upcoming season. 38 During my time there, I saw varying results. One woman started in the spring with great energy and attention, but after a short time, she lost interest. By August, she was not visiting her plot and her vegetables began to rot, unpicked. 39 Over the summer they harvested abundant flowers and vegetables because they consistently tended to their plants. As I work on the garden after my vacations, I realize that I do many garden chores almost every day without much effort. It takes only a few minutes to weed one small area or to pick ripe pumpkins. For these chores, I rely on my garden tools, gloves and boots. 40 Successful gardening amounts to paying attention and following through with what needs to be done at any one time. Whatever we put our attention on will flourish, and a flourishing garden can give us much enjoyment. A. I have learned that daily garden chores matter. B. Other gardeners paid close attention to their plots. C. Having the right tool is essential to work effectively. D. Fall is also the time to note what grew well in my journal. E. The changing seasons remind us that nature follows its own rhythm. F. I used to think gardening was just planting seeds and waiting for rain. G. I first learned about the cycle of garden chores years ago in a community garden. 【答案】36. A 37. D 38. G 39. B 40. I reached a repairman only to find that he was overwhelmed by”和下文“from people in similar circumstances”可知,因为天气寒冷且电炉故障,很多人都需要修理工,所以修理工收到很多类似的“请求”,他被处于类似情况的人们的请求淹没了。故选C。 42. 考查连词词义辨析。句意:我联系了一位修理工,却发现他被处于类似情况的人们的请求淹没了,要过8天才能有人到这里来。A. before在……之前;B. since自从;C. after在……之后;D. unless除非。根据下文“someone could arrive here”可知,要过8天才能有人到这里来,“It would be+时间段+before...”是固定句型,表示“要过……时间才……”。故选A。 43. 考查副词词义辨析。句意:我急忙去了当地的五金店,买了两个取暖器。A. apparently显然地;B. frequently频繁地;C. hesitantly犹豫地;D. hurriedly急忙地。根据下文“went to the local hardware store and bought two space heaters”可知,由于电炉无法及时修理,天气又冷,所以作者“急忙”去买取暖器。故选D。 44. 考查动词词义辨析。句意:通过把它们从白天的客厅移动到晚上的卧室,到目前为止我们虽然有点凉但还算舒适。A. moving移动;B. hanging悬挂;C. abandoning抛弃;D. connecting连接。根据下文“them from living room during the day to the bedrooms at night”可知,此处指把取暖器“移动”位置,白天取暖器在客厅,晚上把它们移动到卧室。故选A。 45. 考查形容词词义辨析。句意:通过白天把它们从客厅移动到晚上的卧室,到目前为止我们虽然有点凉但还算舒适。A. comfortable舒适的;B. stable稳定的;C. hopeful有希望的;D. convenient方便的。根据上文“went to the local hardware store and bought two space heaters”可知,有了取暖器,虽然不至于很暖和,但还是能让人感觉“舒适”。故选A。 46. 考查名词词义辨析。句意:然而,这件事让我想起了我童年冬天的回忆。A. adventures冒险;B. memories回忆;C. accidents事故;D. performances表演。根据上文“One thing this did, however, was to remind me of my own childhood winter”和下文“I remembered as a boy”可知,下文讲述的是童年冬天的事,所以是这件事唤起了作者童年“回忆”。故选B。 47. 考查动词短语辨析。句意:我记得小时候在寒冷的冬日醒来,迅速穿上厚袜子、牛仔裤和外套,走进客厅,那里有一个烧木柴的炉子为整个房子供暖。A. driving away赶走;B. waking up醒来;C. stepping in走进;D. leaving off停止。根据上文 “quickly pulling on thick socks, jean, and a coat”可知,这些是早上“醒来”后的动作。故选B。 48. 考查动词词义辨析。句意:我记得小时候在寒冷的冬日醒来,迅速穿上厚袜子、牛仔裤和外套,走进客厅,那里有一个烧木柴的炉子为整个房子供暖。A. decorated装饰;B. bonded使结合;C. heated加热,供暖;D. lighted照亮。根据上文“going into the living room where a single wood stove”和下文“the whole house”可知,木炉的作用是为房子“供暖”,所以此处指那里有一个烧木柴的炉子为整个房子供暖。故选C。 49. 考查名词词义辨析。句意:我爸爸往火里添柴,我们都围在炉子旁取暖。A. reception接待;B. reunion团聚;C. warmth温暖;D. rescue救援。根据上文“My dad added wood to the fire while we all gathered around it for”可知,围在烧木柴的炉子旁是为了“取暖”,此处指一家人都围在炉子旁取暖。故选C。 50. 考查动词词义辨析。句意:我记得走到外面去取木柴,手指冻僵,呼出白气,一路上都在发抖。A. confusing使困惑;B. panicking惊慌;C. shaking颤抖;D. cheering欢呼。根据上文“I remembered walking outside to fetch wood, with freezing fingers and frosty breath”可知,因为天气寒冷,所以取木柴时会“颤抖”,所以此处指走到外面去取木柴,手指冻僵,呼出白气,一路上都在发抖。故选C。 51. 考查动词词义辨析。句意:那时为了获得温暖要付出更多的努力,但不知为何,这让我们更加珍惜温暖。A. resign辞职;B. inspect检查;C. reflect反映;D. gain获得。根据下文“warmth back then”可知,取木柴等为获取温暖付出努力,可知此处指“获得”温暖付出更多的努力。故选D。 52. 考查动词词义辨析。句意:那时为了获得温暖要付出更多的努力,但不知为何,这让我们更加珍惜温暖。A. miss错过;B. create创造;C. admire钦佩;D. appreciate欣赏,珍惜。根据下文“the warmth even more”可知,因为获得温暖不易,所以更加“珍惜”。故选D。 53. 考查形容词词义辨析。句意:我认为温暖不仅在我们家中,在我们心中也同样珍贵。A. precious珍贵的;B. natural自然的;C. amusing有趣的;D. challenging有挑战性的。根据下文“warmth is not only in our homes but also in our hearts”可知,作者认为温暖是“珍贵的”,不仅指家中的温暖,也指的是心中的温暖。故选A。 54. 考查形容词词义辨析。句意:这个世界有时会非常寒冷,这取决于我们是否为它增添温暖。A. fair公平的;B. cold寒冷的;C. strange奇怪的;D. fresh新鲜的。根据下文“world at times and it is up to us to add our warmth to it”可知,这里表示世界有时是“寒冷的”,这取决于我们是否为它增添温暖。故选B。 55. 考查名词词义辨析。句意:我们奉献的心和对生活的爱将成为一个火炉,也能温暖我们周围其他人的心。A. symbol象征;B. site地点;C. lamp灯;D. stove火炉。根据下文“that can warm the hearts of others around us as well”可知,这里把爱心和对生活的爱比作能温暖人心的“火炉”,此处指我们奉献的心和对生活的爱将成为一个火炉,也能温暖我们周围其他人的心。故选D。 第二节(共10小题;每小题1.5分 ,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,在空白处填入1个适当的单词或括号内单词的正确形式。 In a short video, rain falls over Dianchi Lake, softening the outline of the Western Hills in the distance. Instead, she typed a question that had been pressing on her heart for weeks: ‌“Why won’t Grandma eat properly?” It was early January. After finishing her exams, Mira had returned to her hometown to spend some quiet days with her grandmother. The old woman had once been a legend — she’d worked as a tailor(裁缝), made dresses for half the village and saved enough to open her own shop. Time had taken its toll. Now her eyesight had dimmed, her fingers trembled, but she was still that legendary woman who lived on her own terms. Whenever someone ladled(用勺子舀) soup into her bowl, she would push it away, murmuring, ‌“I don’t need it. Save it for yourselves.” Every meal played out the same way. It broke Mira’s heart. Actually, the family was doing well. There was plenty of food, plenty of love. So why did eating — a simple, everyday act — seem like a burden to her? She tried reasoning with her, but the more she talked, the more Grandma resisted. Until one day, in a moment of frustration, she blurted out, ‌“Grandma, you make me so sad when you act like this.” The old woman froze, then sighed. ‌“I’m over seventy. I won’t be around much longer. It doesn’t matter how I eat.” The words cut deep. Mira thought about taking her to a psychologist(心理医生) but knew she’d refuse. So she turned to an old companion, the AI. The response came quickly. Grandma was refusing food because she felt like she no longer had a place in the family. The AI offered suggestions: Help her feel secure and needed. 注意: (1)续写词数应为 150 左右; (2)请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Paragraph 1: With AI’s assistance, Mira began her plan. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Paragraph 2: As meals became less of a battle, Mira decided to relight the sparkle in grandmother’s eyes. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 With AI’s assistance, Mira began her plan. First, she worked with AI to create customized recipes for Grandma, accounting for her age-related digestive issues and past preferences to make nutritious, easy-to-swallow dishes. Meanwhile, following AI’s suggestion to make Grandma feel valued, the family started to shower her with more attention — sitting with her at meals, chatting warmly, expressing appreciation and encouraging her to eat. As days passed, Grandma began to sense the genuine care and importance the family placed on her. Gradually, the once-stubborn resistance to food faded away. As meals became less of a battle, Mira decided to relight the sparkle in grandmother’s eyes. “It’s time to make her feel needed,” Mira thought, appealing to Grandma’s pride as the village’s best tailor and asking her to make a special outfit for a school event. Grandma’s eyes lit up immediately, a spark of the old force she once had returning. Mira and Grandma spent hours crafting together — Grandma patiently guiding her through measuring, cutting, and sewing, sharing stories of her tailor days. This interaction restored Grandma’s self-worth, strengthened their bond, and gave her a new lease on life. Her appetite improved with renewed energy from skill recognition, leaving Mira amazed at AI’s role as an outstanding virtual psychologist. 词汇激活: 行为类 ①表达:express/show/convey ②恢复:restore/recover/renew ③加强:strengthen/reinforce/enhance 情绪类 ①耐心地:patiently/with patience ②惊讶的:amazed/openmouthed 【点睛】 [高分句型1]As days passed, Grandma began to sense the genuine care and importance the family placed on her. B Mila Hale, an American high schooler, once knew next to nothing about her school’s photography club, only spotting a few members taking campus photos with old cameras at lunch now and then. Raising Funds for More Clubs C When an extreme heat wave struck Illinois in June 2022, crop physiologist Katherine Meacham-Hensold hoped her team’s new bioengineered potato variety would survive it — but she was astonished by just how well it thrived. D You’re at a theme park. 第二节(共5小题;每小题2. 5分, 满分12. 5分) 阅读下面短文, 从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 The Observant Gardener: Tending to Daily Garden Chores Now that fall has begun, I have been reflecting on this year’s growing season. 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题,每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文, 从每题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。 With winter entering a particularly bitter cold and temperatures dropping to below zero every night, our electric furnace(火炉) stopped working. On the Danxia Bridge, a group of dancers 56 (dress) in black suits stand motionless for a moment before raising their long swords(剑). Then the drums beat. With sharp turns, powerful steps and sweeping sword movements, the dancers transform a traditional Jingpo sword dance into a performance, 57 feels both ancient and contemporary. The rhythm of Munao Zongge, one of the 58 (important) traditional festivals and art forms of the Jingpo ethnic group in Southwest China’s Yunnan province, echoes(回响) across the water. The video, filmed in Kunming, the provincial capital of Yunnan, in late July, quickly spread across Chinese social media platforms, 59 (draw) millions of views and inspiring waves of imitations. Many viewers are fascinated by the contrast: traditional swords paired 60 modern suits, ethnic heritage presented through a visual language familiar to younger audiences. At the very center is Yuan Zhiping, 61 lead dancer of Yunnan Provincial Song and Dance Ensemble(剧团). For Yuan, the popularity is not 62 (simple) the result of a striking image. It reflects years of 63 (explore) into how traditional culture can find new forms of expression. Most of the movements come from original Jingpo sword techniques, Yuan says. B Mila Hale, an American high schooler, once knew next to nothing about her school’s photography club, only spotting a few members taking campus photos with old cameras at lunch now and then. Raising Funds for More Clubs C When an extreme heat wave struck Illinois in June 2022, crop physiologist Katherine Meacham-Hensold hoped her team’s new bioengineered potato variety would survive it — but she was astonished by just how well it thrived. D You’re at a theme park. 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题,每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文, 从每题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。 With winter entering a particularly bitter cold and temperatures dropping to below zero every night, our electric furnace(火炉) stopped working. One thing this did, however, was to remind me of my own childhood winter 46 . I remembered as a boy 47 on freezing winter days, quickly pulling on thick socks, jeans, and a coat and going into the living room where a single wood stove 48 the whole house. My dad added wood to the fire while we all gathered around it for 49 . I remembered walking outside to fetch wood, with freezing fingers and frosty breath, 50 the whole way. It took so much more work just to 51 warmth back then, but somehow that made all of us 52 the warmth even more. I think how 53 warmth is not only in our homes but also in our hearts. The turns, spins and sword gestures 64 (adapt) from traditional elements, while the presentation is redesigned 65 (create) a stronger connection with contemporary audiences. The video proves that traditional culture can still be attractive when presented in a modern way. 第四部分 写作(共两节, 满分40分) 第一节(满分15分) 近年来,随着科技发展,电子产品越来越多,学生的汉字书写能力大大降低。假定你是校书法协会的会长,为了让同学们重视书写,写一封倡议书,内容包括: 1.减少对电子产品的依赖,多动手记笔记; 2.养成练书法和写日记的习惯。 注意: 1.词数100左右; 2.可适当增加细节,以使行文文连贯。 ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第二节(满分25分) 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。 This time, Mira wasn’t asking the AI to polish her essays. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 8 / 10 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
