考点 01 was / were 的用法
You were shy and quiet. 你（那时）又害羞又安静。
When I was four months old, I was sick. 我四个月大的时候生病了。
▸ was 和 were 是 am / is / are 的过去式，用来谈论过去的状态。
解析：am / is 的过去式是 was，are 的过去式是 were。说过去的事情或状态时，be 动词要用 was 或 were。主语是 I、he、she、it 时用 was；主语是 you、we、they 时用 were。
一、was 与主语 I / he / she / it 搭配
例句：I was very nervous at first. 起初我非常紧张。
例句：It was a key to a new world. 它是通向新世界的一把钥匙。
二、were 与主语 you / we / they 搭配
例句：You were shy and quiet. 你（那时）又害羞又安静。
例句：We were happy to see the plants. 我们看到这些植物很开心。
三、时间词暗示过去
at first（起初）、in the past（在过去）、when I was...（我……岁的时候）都提示要用 was 或 were。
例句：In the past, my school was small. 过去我的学校很小。

考点 02 was / were 的否定式

▸ 变否定句时，在 was 或 were 后面直接加 not。
解析：was not 缩写为 wasn't，were not 缩写为 weren't。was / were 的否定不用 didn't，直接在后面加 not 就可以。
