Holi, also known as the Festival of Colors, is a traditional Hindu festival. It celebrates goodness beating evil and marks the coming of spring. It comes from an old Hindu folk story: a king hated his own son Prahlada and tried every means to kill him. Finally he ordered his sister Holika to finish the task. Changes in My Hometown
Great changes have taken place in my hometown over the past years.
In the past, most people lived in small old houses. Roads were narrow and dirty. People mostly went out on foot or by bike. Rubbish could be seen everywhere and people’s living conditions were poor.
Now everything has changed. Wide and clean roads appear. People can take buses or drive private cars. More trees and flowers are planted so our environment becomes much nicer. High‑tech products make daily life more convenient. People move into bright comfortable buildings.
I feel really proud of these wonderful changes. I believe my hometown will become even more beautiful in the future.
