I believe (that) this plan will work.
I wonder if / whether the library is open.
what / which / who / whom:充当从句成分
Tell me what you need. I wonder who will help us. who 作从句主语。
when / where / why / how:表示时间、地点、原因、方式
Do you know where the meeting room is?
Can you tell me when the club opens? 不用 when does the club open。
I don’t know how I can begin. = I don’t know how to begin.
I know (that) she likes music. I know what she likes.
与 or not 紧邻、位于介词之后、或接不定式时用 whether:I wonder whether or not he agrees. / We talked about whether to change the plan. / I’m not sure whether to join.
Mum asks whether I have finished my work. Mum asked whether I had finished my work. The teacher said that the Earth moves around the Sun.
Could you tell me ...? Could you tell me where the bus stop is?
Who called you? → I wonder who called you. What happened? → Do you know what happened? What’s the matter? 的嵌入结构可保留 what the matter is 或 what is the matter,具体表达需结合惯用法。
Please tell me how I should plan my time. → Please tell me how to plan my time. I don’t know where he lives. I don’t know where to live,后者变为“我该住哪里”。whether to do 可用,if to do 不可用。

Our teacher asked 2 the messages were always urgent. Most of us answered no. Then she asked us to explain 3 we still felt we had to reply immediately. One student said that she did not want her friends to think she was rude.

A
For a week, Mei kept a record of what she did after school. She expected to find that homework filled every evening. Instead, her notes showed many short gaps: ten minutes choosing a video, five minutes reading comments and another few minutes looking for her school things. Each gap seemed small, but together they took up much of her time.
Mei did not decide to plan every minute. She chose two changes. Before starting homework, she put the books she needed on her desk and left her phone in the living room. She also wrote down one main task for the evening. When she finished it, she checked what else needed attention.
The first evening did not go perfectly. Mei looked for her phone twice and forgot where she had put a worksheet. Instead of calling the plan a failure, she moved a folder next to her desk. The next day, finding her papers was easier.
After two weeks, Mei still had busy evenings, but she no longer felt that all her time had disappeared. She could explain what was taking longer and ask for help with a particular problem. Some evenings she even had time to sketch before bed.
Her record was not a competition to see how much work she could do. It helped her notice patterns and make small adjustments. For Mei, balance meant leaving room for learning, rest and things she enjoyed, rather than filling every empty space.
1.What surprised Mei about her record?
A.Homework took no time at all. B.Her teachers gave her less work.
C.Small interruptions used much time. D.She never watched videos.
2.Where did Mei put her phone before homework?
A.In her schoolbag. B.In the living room. C.Under her worksheet. D.Next to her pillow.
3.Why did Mei move a folder next to her desk?
A.To find her papers more easily. B.To hide all her homework.
C.To keep a record of her meals. D.To compete with her friends.
4.What can we infer from the first evening?
A.A useful plan must work perfectly at once. B.Mei decided never to use her phone again.
C.Every minute of free time should be filled. D.A small problem can lead to a useful change.
5.What is the best title for the passage?
A.Winning a Homework Competition B.A Record That Left Room for Life
C.How to Finish Every Book D.A Week Without Any Schoolwork

A blank page can feel difficult. You keep waiting for the perfect idea. 1 The more you wait, the larger the task seems.
Begin with a small step. Instead of a whole report, write a title or list two questions. 2 Its job is simply to give you something to work with.
Next, choose a short period of work that fits your timetable. 3 Put that new idea on a separate list and return to the work in front of you.
Look back at your first attempt. Perhaps one sentence is useful, or one question shows what you need to learn. 4 You can improve that part instead of starting everything again.
Finally, a first attempt is not a promise to be perfect. You may still need advice or more practice. 5 Starting small leaves space for both progress and a life beyond the task.
A.You may think of another task during that time.
B.Even a rough beginning does not have to look impressive.
C.That useful part can be your next starting point.
D.So the page stays empty while the deadline gets closer.
E.But asking for help does not make your effort less valuable.
F.You must finish every project perfectly on the first try.

A
For a week, Mei kept a record of what she did after school.
