根据第二段中“Every year, more than one million visitors enjoy the grounds, view innovative exhibitions (创意展览) and take part in different kinds of educational programs.(每年,超过一百万的游客在这里欣赏美景,观看创意展览,并参加各种教育项目。)”
根据Know Before You Go部分中“Leave pets at home. Service animals trained to do work or carry out tasks for people with disabilities (残障) are welcome.(把宠物留在家里。欢迎为残疾人工作或执行任务的服务性动物。)”可知,带导盲犬是被允许的。故选A。
B
Banana bread has always been my favorite, especially the ones my mom made. The crispy brown top and the mouth-watering smell could turn our home into a heaven. The key wasn’t the flour or sugar — it was the bananas. To me, fresh, yellow bananas seemed perfect, but Mom always said, “They’re not ready yet.” Her insistence (坚持) on waiting for bananas to fully ripen (成熟) before baking always annoyed me. Later, I learned that the gas released (释放) by bananas makes them sweeter and softer, and ripe bananas are more perfect to delicious bread. So, I guess my mom was right. I had to let them be. They were just not ready yet.
I considered this lesson relatively unimportant until recently. Years later, as a teacher candidate in the Stanford Teacher Education Program (STEP), I faced a similar struggle in teaching. I worried: “What if students aren’t ready for exams? Shouldn’t I push them harder?” Firstly, I thought I was just learning how to teach chemistry. However, my professors guided me to an eye-opening realization: I was not teaching chemistry, I was teaching students.
That slight distinction over what I was teaching will change how I see teaching forever. Beyond teaching the chemistry knowledge, I am also teaching students community, determination and how to fit into the challenging education system. Indeed, every student comes to school with different challenges — some struggle with complex terms like “financial aid,” while others face unspoken expectations from peers and teachers. Whether in high school or college, students need time to learn knowledge and develop abilities.
Like the bananas before banana bread, I need to let my students be and support them until they are ready, no matter whether you are a professor or a teaching assistant. Being patient, knowing that it takes time to make progress and that you should not push someone until they are ready, is a practice that can be learned and does not take an advanced degree in chemistry to do so.
14.What made Mom’s banana bread special?
A.Her knowledge of food chemistry. B.Her insistence on the condition of bananas.
C.Her choice of good flour and sugar. D.Her experience in making the bananas ripen.
15.Why does the author mention students’ different challenges in paragraph 3?
A.To show need for learning time. B.To advocate peers’ immediate help.
C.To praise students’ constant efforts. D.To analyze causes of academic pressure.
16.Which is the most suitable title for the text?
A.Waiting for Ripening B.Making Banana Bread
C.Learning to Teach Chemistry D.Overcoming Learning Challenges
【答案】14.B 15.A 16.A
根据第一段中“To me, fresh, yellow bananas seemed perfect, but Mom always said, “They’re not ready yet.” Her insistence (坚持) on waiting for bananas to fully ripen (成熟) before baking always annoyed me. Later, I learned that the gas released (释放) by bananas makes them sweeter and softer, and ripe bananas are more perfect to delicious bread. (对我来说,新鲜的黄色香蕉看起来就是最理想的,但妈妈总是说:“它们还没熟呢。”她坚持要等到香蕉完全成熟后再进行烘焙,这总是让我感到很烦。后来我了解到,香蕉释放出的气体会使它们变得更甜、更柔软,而成熟的香蕉更适合用来制作美味的面包。)”可知,妈妈的香蕉面包的特别之处在于她坚持使用特定条件的香蕉。故选B项。
15.推理判断题。根据第三段中“Indeed, every student comes to school with different challenges — some struggle with complex terms like “financial aid,” while others face unspoken expectations from peers and teachers. Whether in high school or college, students need time to learn knowledge and develop abilities. (事实上,每个学生来到学校时都面临着不同的挑战——有些学生会因诸如“助学金”这类复杂的术语而感到困惑,而另一些学生则会受到同学和老师无形的期望影响。无论是在高中还是大学,学生们都需要时间来学习知识并培养能力。)”可知,此处列举学生的不同挑战后,用总结句点明学生需要时间学习知识并培养能力。由此可知,作者提到这些挑战,是为了表明学生需要学习时间。故选A项。
通读全文,尤其是最后一段中“Like the bananas before banana bread, I need to let my students be and support them until they are ready, no matter whether you are a professor or a teaching assistant. (就像之前制作香蕉面包那样,我需要给我的学生们一些空间,给予他们支持,直到他们做好准备为止,无论你是教授还是助教。)”可知,文章采用类比的方式,前半部分用等待香蕉成熟才能做出美味面包的经历,引出后半部分在教学中的核心感悟:教育如同等待果实成熟,需要耐心给予学生时间,等待他们准备好。因此,A项“等待成熟”最适合作为文章标题。故选A项。

Li Haorong, a 17-year-old student from Beijing, reached the summit of Mount Qomolangma, the world’s highest peak in the Xizang autonomous region on May 25, 2025, becoming the youngest Chinese male to climb the summit from its northern slope. Beyond mountaineering, he is also keen on other sports like basketball, skiing and surfing, thus contributing to his active and open-minded way of thinking.
As a member of the Youmei Youth Mountaineering Team, the world’s first youth team to climb Qomolangma, Li began his mountaineering journey in January 2023. He said the sport has taught him valuable life lessons, the most important of which is “to have a heart of awe”. After returning to base camp, Li kowtowed (叩头) three times to Qomolangma to express his gratitude for a safe climb and for all the lessons it had taught him.
Li Jinghui, the team leader and CEO of Youmei Camp, said the journey took 46 days. Lobsang Dondrub, an experienced mountaineering guide, told China Daily that spring weather on the mountain remains unstable and risky. He noted that teenagers are generally discouraged from attempting the summit because their developing bodies are less able to deal with the challenges of high-altitude climbing. However, he praised Li Haorong’s performance in particular. “He braved various challenges, such as the crevasses of the Rongbuk Glacier, the steep ice walls of the North Col and the oxygen-deprived (缺氧的) ‘death zone’ above 8,000 meters,” he said.
17.What benefits does sports bring to Li Haorong?

C.To value the success of climbing Qomolangma.
D.To respect the experienced mountaineering guide.
19.Why are teenagers not advised to climb Qomolangma according to Lobsang Dondrub?
A.They are unable to stand long-term training.
B.They are lacking in basic mountaineering skills.
C.They are underdeveloped in physical conditions.
D.They are easy to get lost in snow and ice conditions.
20.Which words best describe Li Haorong according to the passage?
A.Active and responsible. B.Helpful and creative.
C.Respectful and adventurous. D.Adaptable and honest.

根据第二段“After returning to base camp, Li kowtowed (叩头) three times to Qomolangma to express his gratitude for a safe climb and for all the lessons it had taught him. (回到大本营后,李向珠穆朗玛峰磕头三次,以表达他对这次安全攀登的感激之情,并感谢它教会了他所有的教训。)”可知,李浩榕从登山中学会了对自己所获得的一切心怀感激。故选B项。

20.推理判断题。根据第二段“He said the sport has taught him valuable life lessons, the most important of which is “to have a heart of awe”. After returning to base camp, Li kowtowed (叩头) three times to Qomolangma to express his gratitude for a safe climb and for all the lessons it had taught him.

Dear Mike,
How is everything going? I am glad to receive your e-mail, in which you asked me about my new school and how I deal with the stress I suffer from in the new school. Now I am writing to share with you my situation.
I feel excited because this school differs a lot from my previous one. Previously, we had fixed classrooms. In my new school, we don’t have fixed classrooms. Students sit around in groups and have group discussions or check work together. What is also very different is that students in the same class can have different class schedules.
Though I am excited, I still feel stressed. To reduce stress, I’ll take some measures. For example, I’ll make a list and do the important things first. Besides, when I feel stressed, I’ll do something relaxing, such as running, listening to music or reading. In addition, I’ll talk to my friends or teachers from time to time.
Best wishes!
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua

After arriving at base camp, the team carried out progressive high-altitude adaptive training, climbing from 5,200 meters to 7,028 meters at Camp1. “This strict training involved walking through real snow and ice environments, practicing crevasse (冰缝) crossing and other high-altitude skills,” he said.
A.Thinking patterns. B.Physical strength.
