Parcel lockers, also called smart lockers or package lockers, are secure, automated (自动化的) storage units in centralized locations. They are revolutionizing how goods can be delivered and received. People can pick up a package from a locker at a time that suits them, in a convenient location near their residence or workplace. Why are they not widely used? Despite all their advantages, parcel lockers are still far from being widely adopted by online shoppers. It offers a lower delivery fee for large packages. D. It delivers parcels directly to the user’s office. 3. Who are the target readers of the text? A. Locker producers. B. Delivery staff. C. Online purchasers. D. Potential investors. B Zhang Hongjun once spent his days on noisy construction sites in Shanghai, far from his rural hometown in Fujian province. For over a decade, his life followed a common path: long hours of labor, low pay, and the loneliness of being a migrant worker in a vast city. He dreamed of a change but saw few opportunities back home. A visit became a turning point. Staying in his village, Zhang noticed something new. The roads were paved, internet access had reached the village and the local government was offering support to those willing to start businesses. The beautiful mountains and fresh air, once taken for granted, now seemed full of potential to him. An idea began to form: what if he could build a future here, not just make a living there? Using his savings and a small government allowance, Zhang took a daring step. He transformed his family’s old, empty house into a modern café, a place where city visitors could enjoy coffee while viewing the terraced fields (梯田). At first, neighbors were puzzled. “Who will come to the mountains for coffee?” they asked. Zhang persisted (坚持), learning about coffee beans and coffee-making skills online. Today, “Mountain Cloud Café” is more than a coffee shop. It’s a window for his village. Tourists come on weekends, and in his café they discover and buy local specialties like mountain tea and dried fruits. Zhang has hired two local women, providing them with steady income. More importantly, his success has sparked (引发) a conversation. A few other young people, who once thought leaving was the only option, are now asking, “Could I come back too?” “My dream isn’t huge,” Zhang says, looking at the lively scene outside. “I just want our home to prosper, so that our children love to stay here.” His journey paints a picture of modern rural China — one where returning wings bring new life. 4. Which of the following best describes Zhang’s early life as a migrant worker? A. Simple. B. Secure. C. Unsatisfying. D. Undisturbing. 5. Why did Zhang return and start his Café business? A. He failed in his job in Shanghai. B. He was in poor health in the city. C. He was invited by the local government. D. He found new changes and support in his village. 6. What can we learn about Mountain Cloud Café? A. It helps develop the village. B. It features special coffee beans. C. It is profitable and custom-made. D. It is popular from beginning to end. 7. What can be the most suitable title for the text? A. A New Trend of Village Tourism B. The Importance of Local Specialties C. From Migrant Worker to Café Owner D. Between the city and the village C It's a classic complaint in relationships, especially romantic ones: "She said she was okay with me forgetting her birthday! Then why is she throwing dishes in the kitchen? Are the two things related?" The answer is YES. Communication is more than words. It's how those words are said, the tone, the order, even the choice of a particular word. It's multi-dimensional, as explored by Deirdre Wilson and Dan Sperber in Meaning and Relevance. Consider the following example: Peter got angry and Mary left; Mary left and Peter got angry. Though identical in words, their meanings differ completely. The first one may have us thinking: Wow, Peter must get angry often if Mary leaves. The second sentence suggests that Peter wants more from Mary. Same words — a totally different context. Human language is not a code (编码). True codes have a one-to-one relationship with meaning. One sound, one definition. This is what we see with animals. Wilson and Sperber explain that "coded communication works best when emitter and receiver share exactly the same code." Not so for humans. We communicate more than the definitions of our words would suggest. This is inferential communication, and it means that we understand not only the words spoken, but the context in which they are spoken. Irony (反语) is a great example of how powerfully we can communicate context with a few simple words. It is more than just stating the opposite. For example, when Mary says, after a boring party, "That was fun", she is neither saying literally that the party was fun nor saying "ironically" that the party was boring. Rather, she is expressing an emotion. Three words replace paragraphs, showcasing language's efficiency. Wilson and Sperber concluded that human language developed and became so powerful because of two unique abilities of humans: language and the power to try to interpret mental states of others. We look for context for the words we hear. And we should be very good at absorbing this context to infer meaning. 8. What does the complaint in Paragraph 1 mainly indicate? A. The inconsistence between words and meaning. B. The misinterpretation of emotional expressions. C. The crucial role of non-verbal communication. D. The underlying messages in casual remarks. 9. What may make human language different from true codes? A. The context included in understanding meanings. B. The definitions made by words in communication. C. The coded communication between emitter and receiver. D. The fixed correspondence between words and meanings. 10. What does the underlined word “emitter” in Paragraph 3 refer to? A. Passive observer. B. Message receiver. C. Code translator. D. Message sender. 11. What does the author suggest in communication? A. Stating the opposite directly. B. Translating word by word. C. Reading beyond the words. D. Simplifying messages to single meanings. D “Computer software to identify AI-generated text exists, but most programs share one weakness: no sense of style,” says Jun Jang, a 16-year-old junior at Oxford High School in Mississippi. His new software hopes to fill that gap. Jun says he often sees students admit using AI tools on classroom assignments. “But relying too much on these tools can be harmful,” Jun says, pointing to a 2025 study published in Societies. “I figured that by solving this issue, I could assist teachers as well as help kids become more creative and contribute more innovation.” Currently, most AI detectors look at one text by itself, and search for certain AI traits (特征) but don’t account for someone’s unique style of writing. Jun’s program instead analyzes a text known to have been written by a student without AI help. How? Schools already use browser-lockdown programs that block access to AI writing tools. A teacher could collect writing samples at the beginning of the school year when students are in this lockdown mode and “cannot cheat”. After that, the teacher can employ his new program to compare future work by the student with those early samples. Jun’s software then reviews the text from a known author for how that person used such things as punctuation and grammar. Did the writer regularly use long, complex sentences, simple ones or a mix of both? His software searches for such personal styles in someone’s writing. Then it looks for evidence of the same style traits in a second text. By carefully examining the two, it judges whether both share the same author. To test his model, he trained his model on some data, and then gave it a new set of data and asked it to identify whether the two documents came from the same author. Compared to author-verifying software on the market, Jun’s model was more veracious. He reports a 25% increase across the board”. If a student’s work gets flagged as AI-written, Jun’s model explains how the model arrived at that judgment. Teachers will understand how a model made its decision, therefore being able to talk to their students about those issues. 12. What is a feature of Jun’s software? A. It considers writers’ writing styles. B. It is poor at analyzing AI texts. C. It fails to search for certain Al traits. D. It can increase data processing speed. 13. How does Jun’s software detect AI-generated texts? A. By quoting a teacher. B. By giving examples. C. By making comparisons. D. By providing statistics. 14. What does the underlined word “veracious” in paragraph 5 mean? A. Creative. B. Accurate. C. Complex. D. Practical. 15. How can Jun’s software benefit teachers? A. Generate writing samples. B. Identify students’ emotions. C. Simplify grading processes. D. Explain detection decisions. 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 “No pain, no gain” is a widely popular saying in fitness. When his school organized a weekly reading program at Sunshine Nursing Home, he immediately signed up. Every Saturday morning, he would arrive with a bag full of books, ready to spend the day reading to the elderly residents. Most welcomed him warmly — some even saved their favorite stories for his visits. But there was one exception: Grandpa Zhang, a retired mathematics teacher who stayed alone in his room and refused to join any activities. During his first few visits, Chen Ming tried various approaches. He brought books on mathematics, offered to play chess, and attempted to chat about current events. Each time, Grandpa Zhang waved him away without even looking up, saying, “I don’t need company. Leave me alone.” Mrs. Liu, his neighbor, told Chen Ming that Grandpa Zhang used to be the happiest man in the nursing home, playing chess every afternoon with his wife. Since she passed away six months ago, he had withdrawn from the world. “It’s like the light went out of him,” she sighed. One rainy Saturday, with most residents resting indoors, Chen Ming wandered through the garden and noticed Grandpa Zhang sitting alone at a stone table. An old chessboard lay on the table, the pieces arranged in a mid-game position. The elderly man was moving them silently, playing both sides by himself, his fingers trembling slightly as he handled each piece. Chen Ming stood at a distance, watching. The old man was completely focused on the game, yet his eyes carried a sadness that was hard to miss. Chen Ming’s heart ached at the sight — he could feel the loneliness in every move. 注意:1. 续写词数应为150个左右; 2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Gathering his courage, Chen Ming approached Grandpa Zhang and asked quietly, “May I play with you?” ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Weeks passed, and a real smile finally appeared on Grandpa Zhang’s face. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 田家炳高中2026-2027上学期期中考试题 高三英语试卷 本试题卷分选择题和非选择题两部分。全卷共5页,满分150分,考试时间120分钟。 第一部分  听力(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共5小题;每小题1.5分,满分7.5分) 听下面5段录音,每段对话后有一个小题,从题中所给的A、B、C三个选项中选出最佳选项,并标在试卷的相应位置。听完每段对话后,你都有10秒钟的时间来回答有关小题和阅读下一小题。每段录音读两遍。 1. The beautiful mountains and fresh air, once taken for granted, now seemed full of potential to him.(道路已铺设完毕,互联网也已覆盖到村庄,当地政府还为有意创业的人提供支持。那些曾经习以为常的美丽山景和清新空气,如今在他眼中充满了无限潜力)”可知,他回乡发现“道路铺好、网络覆盖、政府支持创业”等新变化,从而萌生开咖啡馆的想法。 【6题详解】 细节理解题。根据第四段“It’s a window for his village. Tourists come on weekends, and in his café they discover and buy local specialties like mountain tea and dried fruits. Zhang has hired two local women, providing them with steady income.(这是他村庄的一扇窗口。周末游客纷至沓来,在他的咖啡馆里发现并购买当地特产,如山茶和干果。张雇佣了两名本地女性,为她们提供了稳定的收入)”可知,咖啡馆成为“村庄的窗口”,带动旅游、销售土特产、雇佣当地妇女,并引发年轻人回乡思考,这些都体现了“帮助村庄发展”。 【7题详解】 主旨大意题。根据最后一段““My dream isn’t huge,” Zhang says, looking at the lively scene outside. “I just want our home to prosper, so that our children love to stay here.” His journey paints a picture of modern rural China — one where returning wings bring new life.(“我的梦想并不宏大,”张看着外面热闹的景象说道,“我只是希望我们的家兴旺起来,让我们的孩子愿意留在这里。”他的经历描绘出一幅现代中国农村的图景——一个归来的翅膀带来新生的地方)”以及全文围绕张宏军从农民工转变为咖啡馆老板的经历展开,并突出这一转变对乡村的积极影响。C项(从农民工到咖啡馆老板)最符合文章标题。 C It's a classic complaint in relationships, especially romantic ones: "She said she was okay with me forgetting her birthday! 【答案】8. A 9. A 10. D 11. C 【解析】 【导语】这是一篇说明文。文章围绕“人类语言的交流特点”展开,介绍了语言交流不仅是文字本身,还涉及语气、语境等多维度因素。 【8题详解】 推理判断题。根据第一段“She said she was okay with me forgetting her birthday! Then why is she throwing dishes in the kitchen? Are the two things related? (她说她不介意我忘记她的生日!那她为什么在厨房里摔盘子呢?这两件事有关系吗?)”以及第二段“Communication is more than words. It's how those words are said, the tone, the order, even the choice of a particular word. (交流不仅仅是言语。还包括这些话是怎么说的,语气,顺序,甚至是某个特定单词的选择)”可推知,第一段的抱怨主要表明了言语和意思之间的不一致。故选A项。 【9题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段“Human language is not a code (编码). True codes have a one-to-one relationship with meaning. One sound, one definition. This is what we see with animals. Wilson and Sperber explain that “coded communication works best when emitter and receiver share exactly the same code.” Not so for humans. We communicate more than the definitions of our words would suggest. This is inferential communication, and it means that we understand not only the words spoken, but the context in which they are spoken. 故选A项。 【10题详解】 词句猜测题。根据第三段中“coded communication works best when emitter and receiver share exactly the same code (当emitter和接收者拥有完全相同的编码时,编码交流效果最佳)”可知,“emitter”与“receiver”构成通信双方的对立关系,所以emitter是信息发出者。故选D项。 【11题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段“Wilson and Sperber concluded that human language developed and became so powerful because of two unique abilities of humans: language and the power to try to interpret mental states of others. We look for context for the words we hear. And we should be very good at absorbing this context to infer meaning. (威尔逊和斯珀伯得出结论,人类语言之所以发展并变得如此强大,是因为人类有两种独特的能力:语言能力和试图解读他人心理状态的能力。我们为听到的单词寻找语境。我们应该非常善于吸收这种语境来推断意义)”可推知,作者认为在交流中应该理解话语背后的意思,也就是不仅仅局限于字面意思。故选C项。 D “Computer software to identify AI-generated text exists, but most programs share one weakness: no sense of style,” says Jun Jang, a 16-year-old junior at Oxford High School in Mississippi. 【答案】12. A 13. C 14. B 15. D 【解析】 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍少年研发的新型AI文本检测软件及其检测原理和优势。 【12题详解】 细节理解题。根据第一段““Computer software to identify AI-generated text exists, but most programs share one weakness: no sense of style,” says Jun Jang, a 16-year-old junior at Oxford High School in Mississippi. His new software hopes to fill that gap. (密西西比州牛津高中16岁的高二学生张俊(音译)说:“现有的识别人工智能生成文本的软件大多有一个缺点:不具备风格识别能力。” 而他的新软件有望填补这一空白)”以及第三段中的“Currently, most AI detectors look at one text by itself, and search for certain AI traits (特征) but don’t account for someone’s unique style of writing. Jun’s program instead analyzes a text known to have been written by a student without AI help.(目前大多数人工智能检测器只查看一篇文章本身,并搜索某些人工智能特征不会考虑个人独特的写作风格,而张骏的程序会分析确定由学生独立完成的文本)”可知,张骏软件的特点是考虑作者的写作风格。故选A项。 【13题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段中的“After that, the teacher can employ his new program to compare future work by the student with those early samples.(之后,老师可以利用这款新程序,将学生后续的作业和早期的样本进行对比)”可知,张骏的软件是通过对比的方式检测人工智能生成文本的。故选C项。 【14题详解】 词句猜测题。根据第五段中的“Compared to author-verifying software on the market, Jun’s model was more veracious. He reports a 25% increase across the board.(与市面上的作者验证软件相比,张骏的模型更加veracious,他称整体准确率提升了 25%)”可知,他的软件整体准确率提升了25%,即他的模型更加准确,因此veracious在此处的意思是“准确的”,与 accurate 同义。故选B项。 【15题详解】 细节理解题。根据最后一段“If a student’s work gets flagged as AI-written, Jun’s model explains how the model arrived at that judgment. Teachers will understand how a model made its decision , therefore being able to talk to their students about those issues.(如果一份学生作业被标记为人工智能生成,张骏的模型会解释其判定依据,老师也能了解模型的判断逻辑,因此能够与学生讨论这些问题)”可知,这款软件能为老师解释检测的判定依据。故选D项。 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 “No pain, no gain” is a widely popular saying in fitness. Many people believe that intense workouts and physical pain are necessary to get stronger and fitter. Interest comes first. A job aligned with my passion motivates me to explore deeply and grow continuously. Salary ranks second, as it ensures a decent living and supports my family. However, it shouldn’t be the sole pursuit. Stability comes last. While job security matters, I believe passion and growth matter more in the long run. In conclusion, a satisfying career depends on arranging these factors in the right order. By putting interest and salary first and also taking stability into consideration, we can achieve true career happiness. 【解析】 【导语】题目要求考生投稿,对择业三要素排序并说明理由。 【详解】1.词汇积累 考虑:consider→ reflect on 激励:motivate→ inspire 探索:explore→ investigate 持续地:continuously→ constantly 2.句式拓展 简单句变复合句 原句:Interest comes first. (运用了动名词作宾语) 第二节(满分25分) 47. 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。 Chen Ming had always been eager to volunteer. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】One possible version: Gathering his courage, Chen Ming approached Grandpa Zhang and asked quietly, “May I play with you?” Grandpa Zhang looked up, surprised. He seemed ready to refuse. But then something in his eyes softened. “Sit down,” he said coldly. “But don’t expect me to go easy on you.” They played three games that afternoon. Chen Ming lost each one, but Grandpa Zhang was slowly warming up. When Chen Ming made a clever move in the third game, Grandpa Zhang nodded. “Not bad. Come back next week—I’ll teach you properly.” Weeks passed, and a real smile finally appeared on Grandpa Zhang’s face. The garden had become their regular meeting spot. Every Saturday, Grandpa Zhang had the chessboard ready and tried to teach Chen Ming strategies patiently. Between moves, Chen Ming chatted about the weather or asked about Grandpa Zhang’s teaching days. Other residents would smile, surprised to see the once-lonely man so lively. When Chen Ming won his first game, Grandpa Zhang laughed and patted him on the shoulder. “You’re learning fast,” he said warmly. Chen Ming smiled back, knowing Grandpa Zhang had found his way back to the world. 词类激活: 行为类: 拒绝:refuse/turn down/decline 期待:expect/anticipate 情绪类: 惊讶的:surprised/astonished 冷漠地:coldly/icily 【点睛】【高分句型1】When Chen Ming won his first game, Grandpa Zhang laughed and patted him on the shoulder.
