一、学习准备

身体部位、常见伤病的词，你初中就背过。可换成一个真事就不行了：江滩上一位老人忽然蹲下去，脸色发白，同伴在喊他的名字。让你用英语讲清他怎么了，不少人只能说出 He is ill，再往下就没了。不是词不够，是没练过把这些词凑成电话里说得清的话。武汉夏天长，江边人多，入夏以后长江救援志愿队天天在两江四岸值守，这样的事每年都在发生。

二、学习目标

1. 听一遍 999 求助电话，能把地址、病人什么情况、屋里还有谁这三样填出来。

2. 听得出接线员哪一句是命令，再按 first、next、then 这些词把六条命令排出先后。

3. 在模拟的武汉现场，能用英语说清人在哪、出了什么事、需要什么，接线员的指令也听得懂。

三、学习重难点

重点（听）：三个细节问题答得准，六条指令排得对。

重点（说）：位置、病情、需求说清楚，接线员问什么就答什么。

难点（听指令）：录音一快，祈使句一句接一句地过去，只顾着听意思，忘了记顺序。

难点（开口）：心里明白，嘴上报不出来。

四、Learning Procedure 课堂流程（45 min）

Lead-in  A Summer Evening by the River  （5 min）

Read the scene below in 30 seconds, then cover it and tell your partner what you still remember. Scene: 七月的一个傍晚，汉口江滩。一位六十多岁的老人忽然扶着栏杆蹲下去，脸色发白，同伴一边喊他的名字一边摸他的脉。围观的人渐渐多起来，掏手机的没几个。

1. What happened to him? Write three English words. (heatstroke? heart attack?)

2. When the call gets through, does the operator ask WHERE you are first, or WHAT is wrong? Why?

3. Write the numbers: China ______ the UK ______ the US ______ Japan ______. At the riverside, which one would you dial first, 120, 110 or 119?

★ Today's task: Work in groups of four. One is the caller, one is the 120 operator, and the other two are people standing by. You will turn the riverside scene above into a real phone call. Before that, listen to a boy in England calling 999 for his grandfather, and see how he gets the words out when he is frightened.

Part Ⅰ  Pre-listening & Numbers  （7 min）

Match each place with the number people dial there.

★ Strategy box: 急救电话里要抓三样东西。第一是位置，说附近有什么标志物比说路名管用，接线员靠它派车。第二是人的情况，清不清醒，还有没有呼吸。第三是接线员给的指令，一条一条照做，别自己加戏。

Part Ⅱ  While-listening: Detail Questions  （12 min）

First listening: answer the three questions. Notes, not full sentences.

1. What made the boy pick up the phone?

2. Who else was in the room besides the boy and his grandfather?

3. How did the boy put his grandfather's condition into words?

Second listening: fill in what the operator asked and what the boy answered.

Part Ⅲ  While-listening: Order the Instructions  （8 min）

Listen to the operator once more. Number her instructions in the order you hear them, 1—6.
