3. 语法小贴士（本课语言重点：it 作形式主语的三种句式）：

① 句式一：It is/was + adj. + for sb. + to do sth.（形容词描述事情的性质，如 important, difficult, hard, impossible, necessary, easy）。如：It was difficult for women to do that kind of work back in those days.

② 句式二：It is/was + adj. + of sb. + to do sth.（形容词描述人的品质，如 kind, nice, clever, brave, wise, polite, careful）。如：It was great of Yuan Longping to develop a new kind of rice.

③ 句式三：It is/was + adj. + that 从句（形容词用来评价、描述从句表达的整件事情）。如：It was amazing that Marie Curie did research in physics and chemistry.

④ for 还是 of？“of 夸人，for 说事”——形容词描述人的品质、能说“Sb is adj to do sth”的用 of；形容词描述事情性质的用 for。如：You are kind to help me.（✓）→ of；We are important to learn English.（✗）→ for。

⑤ it 在句中作形式主语，真正的主语是后面的动词不定式（to do sth）或 that 从句；常用句型：It is/was + adj. + (for/of sb.) + to do sth. / It is/was + adj. + that ...

⑥ that 从句的时态：普通形容词（clear, true, certain）从句时态随主句；建议类形容词（important, necessary）从句常用 (should) + 动词原形。

⑦ 本课高频短语：look up to sb（钦佩；仰慕）、drop out of school（辍学）、do research on（对……进行研究）、play a big part in（在……中发挥重要作用）。

⑧ 易混辨析：disease（较严重的身体疾病，尤指影响器官的疾病）／illness（重病或小病均可，也可指精神上的疾病）／sickness（可泛指身体不适，也可特指呕吐、晕船、晕车等）。
