Think and discuss:
1. What do you use a mirror for?
2. The title says "Mirror, mirror — what do I see?" What do you think it means?
3. Have you ever noticed something about yourself through another person?
→ We use a mirror to look at ourselves and see what we look like.
→ It may mean that the people around us are like mirrors — they show us who we really are.
→ Yes, sometimes when I get annoyed at someone, I realize I have the same weakness.

Look at the title and the pictures, then predict:
1. What does a mirror do?
2. What does the writer mean by "everyone you meet is your mirror"?
3. When you dislike someone, what can you learn from it?
→ A mirror reflects the image in front of it.
→ It means the people we meet reflect something about ourselves — both good and bad qualities.
→ We may need to look inside ourselves and see if we have the same quality.

A loving person lives in a loving world. A hostile person lives in a hostile world. Everyone you meet is your mirror.
Mirrors have a very particular function. They reflect the image in front of them. Just as a physical mirror serves as a vehicle of reflection, so do all of the people in our lives.
When we see something beautiful such as a flower garden, that garden serves as a reflection. In order to see the beauty in front of us, we must be able to see the beauty inside of ourselves. When we love someone, it is a reflection of loving ourselves.
Sometimes, when we meet someone new, we feel an instant connection, as if we've known each other for a long time. That feeling can come from sharing similarities.

While-reading
Just as the "mirror" of another person can be a positive reflection, it is more likely that we notice it when it carries a negative connotation. For example, it is easy to remember times when we have met someone we're not particularly fond of. We may have some criticism in our mind about the person.
Frequently when we dislike qualities in other people, ironically, it's usually the mirror that is speaking to us. I began questioning myself each time I encountered someone I didn't like. I asked myself, "What is it about that person that I don't like?" and then "Is there something similar in me?"
It means that just as I can get annoyed when I notice that aspect in someone else, I'd better reexamine my qualities and consider making some changes. At times, we meet someone new and feel distant or disgusted. It can be a great lesson to figure out what part of that person is being reflected in you. It is simply another way to create more self-awareness.

Read and answer the questions.
1. What does "everyone you meet is your mirror" mean?
2. Why do we notice negative reflections more easily?
3. What should we do when we dislike someone's quality?
→ It means the people around us reflect something about ourselves
— both our positive and negative qualities.
→ Because negative connotations are more likely to catch our attention
— we remember people we don't like more easily.
→ We should reexamine ourselves and ask if we have the same quality, then consider making changes.

Discussion: What can we learn from "the mirror"?
1. When you feel an instant connection with someone new, what does it mean?
2. When you dislike someone, what should you ask yourself?
3. How does this "mirror" idea help us grow?
→ It means you share similarities with that person. You see something of yourself in them.
→ We should ask: "What is it about that person I don't like? Is there something similar in me?"
→ It helps us become more self-aware. We can reexamine our own qualities and make positive changes.
