二、阅读理解
(本题7.5分)Choosing to use an electric vehicle (EV) is exciting, but what about paying? Here are the four most common payment choices.Contactless Payments
Contactless payments are perfect for drivers in a hurry. With contactless payments, you just tap your phone, and charging starts right away. Operators charge drivers small extra fees, and contactless payments don’t offer discounts.App-Based Payments
For home charging users, the apps make it easy to track and manage home charging costs. For operators, app-based systems enable you to collect driver behavior data to improve station performance. New drivers might find the app download and account setup a bit troublesome. The phone signal is necessary for users.Card Payments
For older drivers or those who prefer traditional payment methods, card payments are very accessible. For those operators, card readers are easy to set up and maintain and they’re a great alternative if contactless or app systems go wrong. Card payments carry small service fees. Also, card readers need regular care to prevent damage.PnC Payments
In a PnC (Plug & Charge) EV charging process, charging starts once you plug in. Plug & Charge payments are linked to a contract (合同) associated with the vehicle and enabled by ISO 15118 using digital certificates.
A great EV charger payment system should make charging easier for both drivers and operators. These four payment methods are ready for you to choose from and backed by our round-the-clock after-sales service.
21.(2.5分)Which payment method needs mobile phone signal?
A.Contactless Payments. B.Card Payments.

C.Small extra fees are charged to drivers. D.They need regular care against damage.
23.(2.5分)Where is the text probably taken from?
A.An online blog. B.An advertisement.
C.A science report. D.A fashion magazine.
(本题10分)What if you could use the plastic waste littering your home country to help solve its housing crisis? For architect Oscar Andrés Méndez and his business partner, electronics engineer Isabel Cristina Gámez, that inspiration led to an invention. Their Colombia-based company, Conceptos Plásticos, transforms plastic, including bags, snack-food containers, and shampoo bottles, into a modular building system of bricks and columns.
The Lego-like blocks are made of about 95 percent plastic; builders only need to supply a roof and windows. A typical two-bedroom house recovers some six tons of plastic and can be built in about five days at a cost of anywhere from 4,000 to 7,000 — far cheaper than traditional construction. The structures are also earthquake-resistant, fireproof, and durable.
Initially, Conceptos Plásticos partnered with private companies to build houses and schools in Colombia. Years ago, they learned from UNICEF’s representative in Côte d’Ivoire about plastic waste blocking drains and the shortage of schools in the country. Visiting Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, they were moved to see women carrying children while collecting plastic for little pay. “We have the solution,” Méndez remembers thinking. Conceptos Plásticos had the technology. They just needed to share it.
As part of a three-million-dollar deal with UNICEF, Conceptos Plásticos built a new factory in Abidjan and hired workers, mainly women, to source the plastic needed. So far, over 4,000 tons of plastic have been transformed into more than 550 classrooms. The effort has created a circular economy (循环经济) that removes waste from the environment, improves the educational system by way of well-designed buildings, and creates jobs.
Méndez and Gámez are now negotiating a similar school project in Ethiopia and investigating how to build bathrooms in poor areas in South Sudan. To share their technology in places where building new factories may present challenges, the partners recently designed a smaller version of their system that can be transported in a 40-foot container. It may run on waste, but the concept is not just beautiful but brilliant.
24.(2.5分)What can be learned about Méndez and Gámez’s invention?
A.It supplies roofs and windows. B.It creates new plastic materials.
C.It turns waste into treasure. D.It improves builders’ safety.
25.(2.5分)Which of the following can best describe Conceptos Plásticos’ product?
A.Flexible and free. B.Time-consuming but green.
C.Labour-intensive but cheap. D.Economical and sustainable.
26.(2.5分)What does the specific data in Paragraph 4 imply?
A.The scale of plastic waste. B.The impact of the project.
C.The efforts made by local government. D.The challenges Conceptos Plásticos faced.
27.(2.5分)What is the author’s attitude toward the project of Conceptos Plásticos?
A.Doubtful but tolerant. B.Positive and admiring.
C.Critical but objective. D.Uncertain and unconcerned.
(本题10分)Back in the 1970s, psychologist J. P. Guilford conducted a well-known experiment to study creativity known widely as the nine-dot puzzle. He challenged research subjects to connect all nine dots with merely four straight lines, without lifting their pencils off the paper. Most volunteers limited their attempts within the invisible square formed by the dots. Only one fifth of the participants managed to break out of the boundary and extend their lines into the blank space surrounding the dots.
The fact that four fifths of participants were effectively blinded by the boundaries of the square led Guilford to draw a sweeping conclusion: creativity demands people to break conventional limits, or go outside the box. This viewpoint quickly gained massive popularity and went viral. Soon afterwards, specialists focusing on creative ability began teaching business managers this way to think outside the box. The concept became so mainstream that few scholars bothered to test the original experimental data. That was until two separate research groups carried out follow-up tests: Clarke Burnham & Kenneth Davis, and Joseph Alba & Robert Weisberg.
Both research teams adopted identical experimental settings and split volunteers into two groups. The first group received exactly the same requirements as participants in Guilford’s original research. The second group was clearly informed that the valid solution required drawing lines beyond the imaginary square formed by the dots. Guess what? The final result was surprising: merely 25 percent of the second group worked out the puzzle. From a statistical perspective, this tiny 5-percent rise in success rates is insignificant, as this can be attributed to random sampling error.
We can analyze this unexpected outcome further. Successfully finishing this task literally requires participants to step outside the preset boundary. Yet giving clear, explicit guidance brought no improvement to participants’ performance. That is, straightforward and clear instructions to think outside the box did not help. That this advice is useless should effectively have killed off the much widely spread — and therefore, much more dangerous — metaphor that out-of-the-box thinking boosts creativity. After all, this simple follow-up research proved that the popular connection between out-of-bound thinking and creativity is a misconception without solid basis.
28.(2.5分)What did Guilford observe in his nine-dot puzzle experiment?
A.Visual perception. B.Theoretical knowledge.
C.Thinking patterns. D.Practical experience.
29.(2.5分)What was the purpose of the two teams’ follow-up research?
A.To gather supporting evidence. B.To examine the catchy concept.
C.To overturn the original conclusion. D.To popularize Guilford’s viewpoint.
30.(2.5分)Which of the following best characterizes the follow-up experiment?
A.Revealing. B.Complicated. C.Controversial. D.Groundless.
31.(2.5分)What can be a suitable title for the text?
A.Creative Thinking: A Deadly Trap
B.Puzzle Solving: A Key to Creativity
C.Thinking Outside the Box: A False Link
D.Nine-Dot Puzzle: A Classic Test of Creativity
(本题10分)A robot inspired by desert tumbleweeds (风滚草) may become a new generation of energy-efficient explorers rolling into future disaster zones.
“The inspiration struck me on a windy winter afternoon along the shores of Lake Neuchâtel,” said Sanjay Manoharan. “I was watching kite surfers use the wind to carve beautiful arcs (弧线) and achieve effortless lifts. Yet, I realized nature had already perfected this art long before us.”
The tumbleweed is famous for its efficiency. Despite appearing like a seemingly random mass of twigs (细枝), the plants use wind to travel large distances and spread seeds as moving along on their journeys. In fact, they work so well that ecologists are trying to control them due to their tendency to turn into wildfire risks.
Manoharan and his research group investigated how the plant moves so easily, despite generating more air resistance than a solid ball. The results revealed an unexpected, previously undocumented structural feature of tumbleweeds: the plant remains are spongier on the “top” than they are on their “bottom”. “In the upright position, the upper half, being porous, allowed airflow to pass through freely. In contrast, the lower half was tightly packed and thus offered greater resistance,” the study’s authors explained.
Scientists included these findings in a robotic design printed using 3D laser molding. Their creation named HERMES was far more efficient than either natural tumbleweeds or artificial balls. In field testing, HERMES successfully moved through sharp slopes. During maze tests, it used 48 percent less energy than a robot requiring constant control, and finished the maze 37 percent faster.
With additional advancements and small adjustments, robots like HERMES could one day be sent into dangerous disaster zones, deadly minefields, and even on windy neighboring planets like Mars.
32.(2.5分)Why are ecologists attempting to control tumbleweeds?
A.Because they tend to cause fires.
B.Because they spread seeds too quickly.
C.Because they look like a random mass of twigs.
D.Because they travel too fast and block paths.
33.(2.5分)What does the underlined word “porous” in paragraph 4 mean?
A.Solid. B.Holey. C.Soft. D.Thick.
34.(2.5分)What can we learn about HERMES?
A.It requires no energy to operate.
B.It demands constant human control.
C.It performs better in energy use and speed.
D.It has the same structure as natural tumbleweeds.
35.(2.5分)What can be a suitable title for the text?
A.HERMES: An Energy-Efficient Robot in Use
B.HERMES: A Nature-Inspired Robot for Future Explorations
C.Tumbleweeds: A Wind-Driven Traveler That Spreads Seeds
D.Tumbleweeds: A Natural Model for Energy-Efficient Design
(本题12.5分)Nowadays, smart devices manage nearly every aspect of home life, from temperature regulation (调控) to security monitoring. A sudden power failure is more than a simple inconvenience. It can shut down your heating, cut off your network, and even leave your security system blind all at once. 36(2.5分)
One of the benefits of a portable power station is the comfort it brings when the power fails. Imagine a storm hits, and suddenly, your heater or air conditioning shuts off. With a power station, you can keep essential devices running. 37(2.5分) This makes it quieter, cleaner, easier to maintain, and more suitable for indoor use.
Being able to control appliances via Wi-Fi is one of the hallmarks of modern smart homes. However, if the power goes down, you lose access to that connectivity. Even if the power comes back in a few minutes, some of your appliances may not work properly after a forced restart. 38(2.5分) That way, you won’t lose connectivity during a blackout (停电).
If you’ve invested in solar panels or another renewable energy source, a portable power station can be an excellent way to store energy. When the sun is shining, any extra energy generated by your solar panels can be stored in the portable power station. 39(2.5分)
40(2.5分) An entire security system will become blind without stable power. So if you want to make sure your system is fully functional during a blackout, you’d better have a portable power station as backup power.
A.Don’t count on backup batteries for security.
B.It powers your home when solar panels stop working.
C.A portable power station can keep your Wi-Fi running.
D.A portable power station can prevent such interruptions.
E.Security systems require nonstop power to stay effective.
F.Internal batteries in some devices disable Wi-Fi to conserve energy.
G.Unlike traditional generators, the portable power station runs on batteries.

In an old town, Grandpa Chen was the last master of shadow puppetry (皮影戏). His signature cry, “Behold, the golden light!” followed by a three-tap strike on the wooden stage, was the signal for heroes to arrive. The New Year’s Eve show was a promise he had never broken until now.
Li Ming, a high school student who’s good with technology, deeply respected the craft. He often watched Grandpa Chen repairing the puppets’ silver-jointed arms and legs. The most important part was the Monkey King’s main joint — a detailed piece that balanced the magic stick. “Technology is cold,” Grandpa Chen often said. “It cannot feel the heartbeat of the art.”
Disaster struck the night before the festival. A fierce wind shut the window, knocking the Monkey King to the floor. The key joint broke. Once broken, the delicate joint couldn’t be repaired. Carving a new one by hand would take days — far too late for the next day’s show. Grandpa Chen’s eyes were filled with despair. “Without this joint, the hero can’t move,” he whispered. “The stage must stay dark.” He went back into his room, leaving the pieces behind, as if it was meant to happen.
Li Ming couldn’t let the tradition disappear. He carefully gathered the pieces, determined to prove that technology could serve the heart rather than replace it. Using his 3D printer and a tough 3D-printing material, he spent the night making a replacement. It wasn’t a perfect copy, but he hoped it was flexible enough to keep the puppet moving naturally. However, as he looked at the slightly see-through joint, he wondered if the old master would ever let a lifeless plastic piece touch his beloved hero.
Paragraph 1: With the newly printed resin (合成树脂) joint in hand, Li Ming knocked on Grandpa Chen’s door hours before the performance.

Last week, hundreds of local business men, teachers and government leaders were present. I heard a scientist deliver a speech about new technology that can protect our environment. Sounds interesting. Please go on. Well, we always hear about using less plastic electricity and gas. Of course, these efforts are important. But the scientists said, we need technology to solve environmental problems. We need modern electricity sources and recycling technology. I've mainly researched urban planning. Some south american cities planted hundreds of plants and trees along highways to reduce air pollution like this. Not quite, but that's important too, he said. We need to spread influence. The more people learn and get excited about new technology that helps the environment, the Better these technologies will do work. His technology involves recycling plastic to three deep print items. Wow, i've never heard of that printing technology before. Plus, I doubt if anyone in the city is using this system. So we need to prepare. I will be responsible for researching more information, and then you can make the result into a video that can be shown in class OK. I agree. What are we going to do on our project? Hello everyone. Today my speech is aimed at people who are interested in science. The rise of modern science be considered to date as far back as the time of Roger bacon, who lived between the years twelve fourteen and twelve ninety two. He was probably the first in the middle ages to believe that we must learn science by experimenting on the things around us. Galileo, however, who lived more than three hundred years later, was the greatest of several great men in italy, france, germany or england. They began to show how many important truths could be discovered by experiment. Before the time of gallio learned men believed that large bodies fall more rapidly towards the earth and small ones, because aristotle said so. But gallio going to the top of the leaning tower of pizza in italy, let fall two unequal stones, and proved aristotle was wrong. IT is galileos spirit of going direct to nature and proving our opinions and theories by experiment that has LED to all the great discoveries of modern science. Hello, everyone. B.To show the importance of scientific experiment.
C.To list the discoveries by some great scientists.
【答案】18.B 19.C 20.B
【原文】
Hello, everyone. Today my speech is aimed at people who are interested in science. The rise of modern science may be considered to date as far back as the time of Roger Bacon who lived between the years 1214 and 1292. He was probably the first in the Middle Ages to believe that we must learn science by experimenting on the things around us.
Galileo, however, who lived more than 300 years later, was the greatest of several great men. In Italy, France, Germany, or England, they began to show how many important truths could be discovered by experiment. Before the time of Galileo, learned men believed that large bodies fall more rapidly towards the earth than small ones, because Aristotle said so. But Galileo, going to the top of the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy, let fall two unequal stones and proved Aristotle was wrong. It is Galileo’s spirit of going direct to Nature, and proving our opinions and theories by experiment, that has led to all the great discoveries of modern science.

【答案】28.C 29.B 30.A 31.C
【导语】文章主要介绍Guilford九点谜题实验得出“跳出盒子思考”激发创造力,后续实验却证明该流行观点缺乏可靠依据。
【详解】28.细节理解题。根据第一段中“Back in the 1970s, psychologist J. P. Guilford conducted a well-known experiment to study creativity known widely as the nine-dot puzzle. He challenged research subjects to connect all nine dots with merely four straight lines, without lifting their pencils off the paper. Most volunteers limited their attempts within the invisible square formed by the dots. Only one fifth of the participants managed to break out of the boundary and extend their lines into the blank space surrounding the dots.(早在20世纪70年代,心理学家J. P. Guilford开展了一项著名的创造力研究实验,也就是广为人知的九点谜题实验。他要求实验对象只用四条直线连接全部九个点,且铅笔不能离开纸面。大多数志愿者都把自己的尝试局限在这些圆点所构成的无形方框内。仅有五分之一的受试者能够突破这一边界,将线条延伸到圆点周围的空白区域。)”和第二段中“The fact that four fifths of participants were effectively blinded by the boundaries of the square led Guilford to draw a sweeping conclusion: creativity demands people to break conventional limits, or go outside the box.(五分之四的受试者实际上被方框的边界所束缚,基于这一事实,Guilford得出一个笼统的结论:创造力要求人们打破固有局限,也就是“跳出盒子思考”。)”可知,Guilford观察人们解决九点谜题时的思维模式。
29.推理判断题。根据第二段中“The concept became so mainstream that few scholars bothered to test the original experimental data. That was until two separate research groups carried out follow-up tests: Clarke Burnham & Kenneth Davis, and Joseph Alba & Robert Weisberg.(该理念变得十分主流,几乎没有学者费心去检验原始实验的数据。
通读全文,尤其是根据第四段中“After all, this simple follow‑up research proved that the popular connection between out‑of‑bound thinking and creativity is a misconception without solid basis.(毕竟,这项简单的后续研究证明,跳出边界思考与创造力之间广为人知的联系是没有可靠依据的错误观念。)”可知,文章核心论点是否定“跳出框框”与创造力之间的关联,指出这是一种错误的联系。C选项“Thinking Outside the Box: A False Link(跳出框框:一种错误的联系)”准确概括了文章主旨,适合作本文标题。
【答案】32.A 33.B 34.C 35.B
【导语】主要介绍科研人员受风滚草结构启发,研发出高效节能的HERMES机器人,介绍其优势并展望其未来勘探应用前景。
【详解】32.细节理解题。根据第三段中的“In fact, they work so well that ecologists are trying to control them due to their tendency to turn into wildfire risks. (事实上,它们繁殖扩散效果极佳,以至于生态学家正尝试管控它们,因为它们容易成为野火隐患。)”可知,生态学家想要管控风滚草,是因为这类植物容易引发火灾。
33.词句猜测题。根据第四段中的“In the upright position, the upper half, being porous, allowed airflow to pass through freely. In contrast, the lower half was tightly packed and thus offered greater resistance. (在直立状态下,植株上半部分呈 porous,可让气流自由通过。相比之下,下半部分结构紧实,空气阻力更大。)”可知,该词与“tightly packed and thus offered greater resistance (结构紧实、阻力大)”形成对比,结合气流可自由通过的语境可推断,该词意为“多孔透气的”,与Holey意义相近。
34.细节理解题。根据第五段中的“During maze tests, it used 48 percent less energy than a robot requiring constant control, and finished the maze 37 percent faster. (在迷宫测试中,它比需要持续操控的机器人节能百分之四十八,完成迷宫任务的速度快百分之三十七。)”可知,HERMES机器人在能耗控制和运行速度上表现更优异。
35.主旨大意题。通读全文,尤其是首段中的“A robot inspired by desert tumbleweeds (风滚草) may become a new generation of energy-efficient explorers rolling into future disaster zones. (一款受沙漠风滚草启发的机器人或许能成为新一代节能探测装置,奔赴未来各类受灾区域。)”可知,文章围绕仿生风滚草机器人HERMES展开,介绍其研发灵感、性能优势与未来勘探用途,所以“HERMES: A Nature-Inspired Robot for Future Explorations (HERMES:一款取材自然、面向未来探测任务的机器人)”最能概括全文核心,适合作为最佳标题。

1. 续写词数应为150个左右;
2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Paragraph 2: The festival crowd gathered in silence, staring at the dark stage, until the familiar warm glow of the oil lamp shone.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】One possible version:
Paragraph 1: With the newly printed resin joint in hand, Li Ming knocked on Grandpa Chen’s door hours before the performance. He hesitated for a moment, then told Grandpa Chen the whole story nervously and presented the printed joint. Grandpa Chen picked it up carefully and examined it closely, still doubting whether the man-made part could work well. He fitted the joint onto the Monkey King puppet tentatively. To his amazement, the puppet moved flexibly and naturally, with no difference from the original one. He looked at Li Ming with a mixture of surprise and relief.
Paragraph 2: The festival crowd gathered in silence, staring at the dark stage, until the familiar warm glow of the oil lamp shone. Grandpa Chen gave his usual three taps and shouted his signature line. The lively shadow puppetry show began immediately, and the Monkey King performed wonderfully, earning bursts of applause. After the show, Grandpa Chen smiled at Li Ming warmly. He came to understand that technology was not a rival to traditional art, but a powerful way to protect and pass on precious folk culture.
