In other words, women who walked more than 7,500 steps per day saw no additional increase in longevity.” 1.C由上文“If you need to work all night, you can sleep seven to nine hours a night several days before you stay up. It can help reduce the bad influence of a single sleepless night. When you stay up, consider a powerful nap. Even a 10-minute nap will make you energetic. 符合语境,其中 a 10-minute nap与上文a powerful nap对应,有承接上文作用。 2.D根据下文“Time management is key. Exercise is another one. Just two minutes of physical activity can make you more creative. How to fit a healthy diet into a busy plan? 符合语境,其中a busy plan与下文Time management对应。 3.G根据上文“If you don’t have a lot of time, try some high-intensity exercise. Some simple but high-intensity ways like jumping rope will work well. 根据下文“To protect yourself, start taking vitamin C and vitamin B a few days before your flight. To make you feel less travel-related stress, try some quick ways to relax, such as drinking green tea. 由此可知,A项Get prepared for traveling. 5.E根据上文“Doing great work is important to you, but your health should be at the top of your list. So you should be honest with yourself. In other words, no good health makes no sense. 符合文意,其中good health与上文your health对应。 根据第一段“When you’re a teacher, a big part of your job is battling student misconceptions. Often students come to the classroom believing that learning can’t be fun and that what they learn isn’t relevant to the real world — much less to their personal interests 根据第二段“I’m a car enthusiast, so when I teach physics, I contextualize concepts with my knowledge about cars. If we’re covering friction, for example, I bring different tires into my classroom so that my students can conduct lab experiments with them to see how friction works in real-life applications 根据第三段“When I first brought my hobbies to my classroom, I was focused on how doing so would build engagement and help my students understand concepts in science. But I quickly learned that the practice also helped me build stronger relationships with them 通读全文,尤其根据作者打破传统教学模式,主动将自己的汽车爱好融入物理课堂,通过第二段“If we’re covering friction, for example, I bring different tires into my classroom so that my students can conduct lab experiments with them to see how friction works in real-life applications (例如,如果我们要讨论摩擦,我会把不同的轮胎带到教室里,这样我的学生就可以用它们进行实验室实验,看看摩擦在现实生活中是如何工作的)”和最后一段“What started as an experiment is now more of a philosophy.Even when I'm planning classes,I tend to think about how I can bring in my hobbies.I find that doing so energizes my instruction, engages my students, and demonstrates to them how abstract concepts play out in the real world.Best of all,my passion for my hobbies seems to inspire them to be passionate about finding their own.(最初的尝试如今已演变成一种教学理念。 1.G由上文“As Alice Black points out, today’s parents’ fear of letting kids do more housework has added to their inability to feel competent and, thus, confident in themselves. Psychologist Robert Turner wrote about this in his book, The Life Cycle, mentioning a stage when kids learn self-direction and mastery. G选项“When this stage is denied it creates a sense of insecurity. 2.E由上文“But Turner’s other cycles are just as important. 以及下文“If these life cycles are delayed, interrupted, or denied, you feel incapable of accessing your states of self, controlling unpleasant feelings, and manipulating (操控) the energy that puts together the fabric of your inner world. E选项“They teach emotional awareness and management as well as identity. 3.D由上文“Turner wisely said that “doing well” psychologically is being able to roll with the flow of emotions, manage them, communicate clearly and well with others, and master various skills. This requires an internal locus (核心) of control, which implies self-control of your thoughts, feelings, and actions. D选项“In other words, you’re playing the game of life — life isn’t playing you. 4.C由上文“So, being an adult isn’t just holding a job. Being an adult is about having a rooted sense of self while being capable of identifying and managing your emotions and actions. C选项“It’s being able to show understanding when communicating with others. 5.A由上文“While raising an adult is a parent’s job, it’s also our responsibility as a society to ensure that we support schools that nurture (培养) emotional and identity development. A选项“It’s also our job to support adults who need help repairing incomplete life cycles. Unit 2 Period 1 Welcome to the unit & Reading 目 录 A组 巩固过关 B组 能力进阶 C组 思维拔高 拓展 链接高考 1、 将下列短语翻译为英文 1.保持健康________ 2.影响你的专注力________ 3.采取相同的方法________ 4.普通青少年________ 5.典型的美国家庭________ 6.高中毕业________ 7.在20世纪60年代________ 8.搬到郊区________ 9.到达目的地________ 10.平均一天两小时________ 11.产生影响________ 12. 变得极其成功________ 14. 1.stay healthy 2.affect your ability to concentrate 3.adopt the same approach 4.an/the average teenager 5.a typical American family 6.leave high school 7.in the 1960s 8.move into the suburbs 9.reach the/one’s destination 10.an average of two hours a day 11.make a difference 12.change their lifestyle 13.become incredibly successful 14.three quarters of American teenagers 二、根据句意及汉语提示写出单词 1.Even ________ (假定) the plan to be in principle possible, it will not be achieved soon. 2.Many old factories had to close down for l________ of advanced technology. 3.Australians like talking about ball games like s________ and rugby. 4.This echo-location in b________ is often compared with radar, the principle of which is similar. 5.I stopped at the square and got out to ______(伸展)my legs. 6.There will be an increase in the ____ (范围) of 0 to 3 percent. 7.We should always keep it in mind that it is everyone's responsibility to ____ (维持) the image of our motherland. 8.____(此外), you have to practice your spoken Chinese to express yourself more clearly and fluently. 9.With convenient traffic network, you can travel to anywhere ____ (遍及) the province. 10.It was the first time for me to know the daily ____ (惯例) in a hospital. 1. assuming 2. lack 3. soccer 4. bats 5. stretch 6. range 7. maintain 8. In fact, the idea of walking at least 10,000 steps a day for health goes back many years to a marketing campaign started in Japan for the sale of a pedometer (计步器). And, in the years that followed, it was accepted in the US as a goal to build up good health. It’s often the default setting (默认设置) on fitness trackers, but what’s it really based on? “The original basis of the number was not scientifically determined,” says researcher I-Min Lee of Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She was curious to know how many steps you need to take a day to maintain good health and live a long life, so she and her workmates designed a study that included about 17,000 older women. Their average age was 72. The women all agreed to wear devices to track their steps as they went about their day-to-day activities. It turns out that women who took about 4,000 steps per day got an increase in longevity (长寿), compared with women who took fewer steps. In fact, women who took 4,400 steps per day, on average, were about 40 percent less likely to die during the follow-up period of about four years compared with women who took 2,700 steps. The findings were published Wednesday in JAMA Internal Medicine. Another surprise: The benefits of walking maxed out at about 7,500 steps. In other words, women who walked more than 7,500 steps per day saw no additional increase in longevity. Janz, who released the new national exercise recommendations last November, says the message that comes from this study was encouraging. “I think it’s really good news for women who may not be particularly active.” says Janz. “All they have to do is walk. To me, this study suggests there are more benefits to light activities than we were previously thinking there might be.” 1.How did the idea of walking 10,000 steps a day come into being? A.It was made up by a group of elderly ladies. B.It was indeed the result of a scientific research. C.It actually came from a business advertisement. D.It was based on a test by both Japan and the US. 2.Which is an ideal choice for women walkers according to the study? A.2,700 steps. B.4,400 steps. C.10,000 steps. D.17,000 steps. 3.Which of the following does Janz agree with? A.Light activities benefit people most. B.The study is not as satisfying as expected. C.Women should be more active than before. D.The result of the study is a little surprising. 4.In which part of a newspaper can you read the passage? A.Health. B.Culture. C.History. D.Tourism. 由第一段“In fact, the idea of walking at least 10,000 steps a day for health goes back many years to a marketing campaign started in Japan for the sale of a pedometer”可知,事实上,为了健康,每天至少走一万步的想法可以追溯到多年前日本开始的一项销售计步器的营销活动。 由第三段“It turns out that women who took about 4,000 steps per day got an increase in longevity , compared with women who took fewer steps.”和第四段“women who walked more than 7,500 steps per day saw no additional increase in longevity.” 根据第四段“Another surprise: The benefits of walking maxed out at about 7,500 steps. In other words, women who walked more than 7,500 steps per day saw no additional increase in longevity.” You probably know you should exercise, get enough sleep and eat right. But you are telling yourself that you don’t have the time. If you are wondering how to develop healthy habits, these pieces of advice will help you feel great. Change sleep time. If you need to work all night, you can sleep seven to nine hours a night several days before you stay up. It can help reduce the bad influence of a single sleepless night. When you stay up, consider a powerful nap. 1 Improve creativity. Eating more fruit and vegetables makes us more creative, which in turn improves our work. 2 Time management is key. Exercise is another one. Just two minutes of physical activity can make you more creative. Fit in with some high-intensity (高强度) but short exercise. If you don’t have a lot of time, try some high-intensity exercise. 3 Research suggests that exercising regularly is highly effective in burning fat and building muscle. 4 To protect yourself, start taking vitamin C and vitamin B a few days before your flight. To make you feel less travel-related stress, try some quick ways to relax, such as drinking green tea. Doing great work is important to you, but your health should be at the top of your list. So you should be honest with yourself. 5 Find time for exercise, healthy meals and some quality rest by cutting down useless activities. A.Get prepared for traveling. B.Remember to avoid taking flights. C.Even a 10-minute nap will make you energetic. D.How to fit a healthy diet into a busy plan? E.In other words, no good health makes no sense. 符合文意,其中good health与上文your health对应。 八、阅读理解 (2026·浙江卷)When you’re a teacher, a big part of your job is battling student misconceptions. Often students come to the classroom believing that learning can’t be fun and that what they learn isn’t relevant to the real world — much less to their personal interests. I’ve discovered that if I show students how what they learn is relevant to my hobbies, they’re much more willing to make connections to their personal interests and develop their own hobbies. No matter what subject I’m teaching, I find ways to bring my hobbies into the classroom. For example, I’m a car enthusiast, so when I teach physics, I contextualize concepts with my knowledge about cars. If we’re covering friction, for example, I bring different tires (轮胎) into my classroom so that my students can conduct lab experiments with them to see how friction works in real-life applications. When I first brought my hobbies to my classroom, I was focused on how doing so would build engagement and help my students understand concepts in science. But I quickly learned that the practice also helped me build stronger relationships with them. When I let them see an aspect of my life outside of school, some students who were also interested in cars connected with me more and became more engaged in my courses. Even those who didn’t share that interest with me seemed more engaged once I showed a different side of myself. What started as an experiment is now more of a philosophy. Even when I’m planning classes, I tend to think about how I can bring in my hobbies. I find that doing so energizes my instruction, engages my students, and demonstrates to them how abstract concepts play out in the real world. Best of all, my passion for my hobbies seems to inspire them to be passionate about finding their own. 1.What poses a challenge to teachers according to the author? A.Students’ misunderstandings about teachers. B.Students’ false assumptions about learning. C.The irrelevance of textbooks to students’ life. D.The gap between teachers’ and students’ hobbies. 2.Why does the author bring tires into the classroom? A.To teach an engineering skill. B.To explain the structure of a car. C.To share a real-life experience. D.To illustrate a scientific concept. 3.What was the unexpected outcome of the author’s teaching method? A.A higher class attendance rate. B.Better examination results. C.A closer teacher-student bond. D.More spare time for students. 4.Which of the following best describes the author as a teacher? A.Innovative. B.Humorous. C.Decisive. D.Sympathetic. 根据第一段“When you’re a teacher, a big part of your job is battling student misconceptions. But I quickly learned that the practice also helped me build stronger relationships with them 通读全文,尤其根据作者打破传统教学模式,主动将自己的汽车爱好融入物理课堂,通过第二段“If we’re covering friction, for example, I bring different tires into my classroom so that my students can conduct lab experiments with them to see how friction works in real-life applications (例如,如果我们要讨论摩擦,我会把不同的轮胎带到教室里,这样我的学生就可以用它们进行实验室实验,看看摩擦在现实生活中是如何工作的)”和最后一段“What started as an experiment is now more of a philosophy.Even when I'm planning classes,I tend to think about how I can bring in my hobbies.I find that doing so energizes my instruction, engages my students, and demonstrates to them how abstract concepts play out in the real world.Best of all,my passion for my hobbies seems to inspire them to be passionate about finding their own.(最初的尝试如今已演变成一种教学理念。 九、七选五 (2025·北京卷)What is adulthood? Societies all over the world view the concept of an adult as self-supporting and self-directed, because it identifies a point in the life cycle. As Alice Black points out, today’s parents’ fear of letting kids do more housework has added to their inability to feel competent and, thus, confident in themselves. Psychologist Robert Turner wrote about this in his book, The Life Cycle, mentioning a stage when kids learn self-direction and mastery. 1 But Turner’s other cycles are just as important. 2 If these life cycles are delayed, interrupted, or denied, you feel incapable of accessing your states of self, controlling unpleasant feelings, and manipulating (操控) the energy that puts together the fabric of your inner world. Turner wisely said that “doing well” psychologically is being able to roll with the flow of emotions, manage them, communicate clearly and well with others, and master various skills. This requires an internal locus (核心) of control, which implies self-control of your thoughts, feelings, and actions. 3 You’re self-directed and not reliant on the world to tell you who you are. And you know who you are within all this. So, being an adult isn’t just holding a job. Being an adult is about having a rooted sense of self while being capable of identifying and managing your emotions and actions. 4 We are a social species, so this is important. While raising an adult is a parent’s job, it’s also our responsibility as a society to ensure that we support schools that nurture (培养) emotional and identity development. 5 A.It’s also our job to support adults who need help repairing incomplete life cycles. B.They talk about someone’s inability to support themselves through work. C.It’s being able to show understanding when communicating with others. D.In other words, you’re playing the game of life — life isn’t playing you. E.They teach emotional awareness and management as well as identity. F.You feel like an 18-year old, especially when playing 80s music. G.When this stage is denied it creates a sense of insecurity. 1.G由上文“As Alice Black points out, today’s parents’ fear of letting kids do more housework has added to their inability to feel competent and, thus, confident in themselves. 变得极其成功________ 14.四分之三的美国青少年________ 二、根据句意及汉语提示写出单词 1.Even ________ (假定) the plan to be in principle possible, it will not be achieved soon. 1.He made up his mind to devote his life to preventing the river from (pollute). 2.Nowadays, being (equip) with knowledge of the computer is an important qualification for most posts. 3.I have to work by taxi today, for my car (repair). 4.Remembering 70 new words a week means remembering only 10 words a day average. 5.I tend accept any idea put forward by experts on TV. 6.Allow me to offer my warmest congratulations your success! 7.This is the best running equipment, because it can not only make running more comfortable but also prevent (injure). 8.I have a (tend) to talk too much when I’m nervous. 9.Try to understand what is actually happening instead of acting on the (assume) you’ve made. 10.We wonder there is any possibility of the statistics to be analysed as soon as possible. (名词性从句) There is a lot of evidence ________________. 2. The nurses carefully ____________ and helped them recover. 3. As we all know, China boasts abundant and unique culture with its long history, ________________ folk dances and local operas ________ themed exhibitions. 4. I would like to express my ________________ you ________ your receiving the first prize of “Chinese Bridge” Chinese speech contest. 5.Though he missed the training, he _________________ it by practicing twice as long the next day. I love this apartment, but admittedly it ________________, for it is too far away from my company. 7.The fitness model is famous for his _________, which he built through years of training. A.Health. B.Culture. C.History. D.Tourism. You probably know you should exercise, get enough sleep and eat right. F.Many people dislike staying up. G.Some simple but high-intensity ways like jumping rope will work well. 八、阅读理解 (2026·浙江卷)When you’re a teacher, a big part of your job is battling student misconceptions.
