【答案】17. B 18. C 19. A 20. A
【解析】
【原文】W: Good morning, everyone. Today I’d like to talk about a common problem among teenagers — being addicted to social media. A recent survey shows that 72% of high school students use social media for over 2 hours every day, with most starting at the age of 13 or 14. On one hand, social media helps students stay connected with friends, share interesting stories, and even access free educational resources, like online courses and study tips. On the other hand, it brings many problems. Parents and teachers have noticed that students who spend too much time on social media often have trouble focusing in class. They may also feel upset after comparing their daily lives with the “perfect” posts online, which makes them lose confidence. What’s worse, some students get disturbed by messages during study time, leading to a drop in grades. Experts suggest that instead of banning social media completely, schools should teach students to manage their screen time wisely. For example, setting a fixed time for checking social media after finishing homework, or choosing educational accounts to follow instead of those with meaningless content. Remember, social media is a tool. It can either help us or harm us, depending on how we use it.

In a crowded gallery in the 1940s, a student of traditional Chinese painting, Duan Wenjie, gazed at the vivid Mogao murals (壁画) and felt an immediate urge to visit Dunhuang. “I was like a hungry ox breaking into a vegetable garden,” he recalled, “and enjoying a spiritual feast.” From that moment on, thoughts of the murals filled Duan’s mind. His initial idea of a brief visit had transformed into a lifelong mission.
Duan’s work began in the caves, where he painted copies of the murals. Due to the severe damage done to some of the murals, this was at times an almost impossible task. Determined, Duan labored through hundreds of reference sources, making numerous notes on how to best reproduce the all-but-invisible images. Sometimes, years of painstaking work yielded only one single copy. Starting in 1946, he copied nearly 400 ancient murals mostly by himself, covering an area of about 150 square metres.
Despite such remarkable achievements in restoration work, the situation was far less encouraging when it came to academic research. For a long time, Dunhuang studies were largely carried out in other countries, such as Japan, France and Russia. This was the direct consequence of a tragic history. Starting in the early 1900s, foreign explorers smuggled (走私) thousands of ancient manuscripts and relics (遗物) out of the Mogao Grottoes. As a result, those irreplaceable materials became scattered across the globe. Renowned Chinese historian Chen Yinque once referred to Dunhuang studies as an example of “our sad academic history”.
In 1982, Duan Wenjie became Dunhuang Academy’s second director and spared no effort to change this situation. Dunhuang studies quickly expanded in range, and Duan led his colleagues in publishing Dunhuang Research, the first Chinese academic journal of Dunhuang studies. “Dunhuang is the whole of my life,” he once said. Thanks to his decades of sustained efforts, the Mogao Grottoes were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1987.
24. What inspired Duan Wenjie to go to Dunhuang?
A. An academic conference on cave art.
B. A spiritual feast in a vegetable garden.
C. His desire for a lifelong mission in Dunhuang.
D. His strong fascination with a mural exhibition.
25. How did Duan address the challenge of copying the murals?
A. By restoring the damaged images.
B. By working with mural researchers.
C. By consulting extensive materials carefully.
D. By producing several copies of the same mural.
26. Why did Chen see Dunhuang studies as a case of “our sad academic history”?
A. Overseas studies caused thefts. B. The murals were gradually damaged.
C. Chinese scholars showed little interest. D. Historical losses led to foreign dominance.
27. Which of the following best describes Duan Wenjie?
A. Thorough and devoted. B. Independent and ambitious.
C. Creative and practical. D. Curious and adventurous.
【答案】24. D 25. C 26. D 27. A

You open a free weather app. Seconds later, an ad for running shoes appears. Have you ever wondered how much the advertiser paid to reach you?
When you visit a website or open an app, your personal information, including location, device type, and browsing habits, is packaged into an “ad request.” This request is sent to an ad marketplace. Advertisers then bid (竞拍) in real time for the chance to show you an ad. The highest bidder wins, and their ad appears on your screen. All of this happens in less than 100 milliseconds.
This brings us to an uncomfortable truth: if you are not paying for the product, you are the product. Instead of charging you money, advertisers collect your data and sell access to your attention. You are what is being traded.
So what price do advertisers put on a person? To get reliable figures, researchers ran their own advertising campaigns. They analyzed one full year of mobile browsing data from 1,600 users. It turned out that a typical user cost advertisers only about 2.5 cents over the year. Most people cost advertisers less than 10 cents in total. But about 2% of users cost between one and ten dollars. Who are these valuable individuals? Those who share data about their exact location, frequent purchases, or specific interests are considered far more valuable.
Some might say this system works for everyone: users get free content, advertisers find potential customers, and websites earn money. But privacy experts ask a harder question: How many of us truly understand what we are giving away? Each click, each search, each location update becomes a data point. Together, these points create a detailed picture of who you are — sometimes more detailed than you would ever accept.
The team later developed a browser tool to show users their true price. Their goal is simple: transparency (公开透明). After all, if you are the product, should you not know what you are worth?
28. How does an ad reach a user?
A. The users choose ads themselves. B. Advertisers compete to display ads.
C. Marketplaces sell the user’s identity. D. Apps select one from browsing history.
29. What can we learn about the research findings?
A. Each ad costs about 2.5 cents.
B. Purchase history is the top pricing factor.
C. High-value users form a large group.
D. Richer data increase users’ advertising value.
30. Which of the following may privacy experts suggest?
A. Stop using free online services. B. Share details for personalized ads.
C. Weigh free content against data exposure. D. Compare prices across advertising marketplaces.
31. What is the author’s attitude toward the system?
A. Cautiously critical. B. Strongly opposed. C. Largely neutral. D. Generally supportive.
【答案】28. B 29. D 30. C 31. A
根据第二段“Advertisers then bid (竞拍) in real time for the chance to show you an ad. The highest bidder wins, and their ad appears on your screen.(随后广告主会实时竞拍向你展示广告的机会,出价最高者胜出,其广告就会出现在你的屏幕上。)”可知,广告是通过广告商竞争投放广告送到用户面前的。
【29题详解】
细节理解题。根据第四段“It turned out that a typical user cost advertisers only about 2.5 cents over the year…Those who share data about their exact location, frequent purchases, or specific interests are considered far more valuable.( 事实证明,普通用户一年仅需广告主花费约2.5美分……而那些分享自身精确位置、高频消费记录或特定兴趣的用户,被认为价值要高得多。)”可知,从研究结果我们能得知更丰富的数据会提升用户的广告价值。
【30题详解】
推理判断题。根据第五段“But privacy experts ask a harder question: How many of us truly understand what we are giving away? Each click, each search, each location update becomes a data point.(但隐私专家提出了一个更尖锐的问题:我们当中有多少人真正明白自己正在交出什么?每一次点击、每一次搜索、每一次位置更新,都会成为一个数据点。)”可知,隐私专家可能会提出在免费内容和数据泄露之间权衡这个建议。
【31题详解】
推理判断题。根据第三段“This brings us to an uncomfortable truth: if you are not paying for the product, you are the product.(这让我们面对一个令人不安的真相:如果你没有为产品付费,那么你自己就是产品。)”,第五段“Some might say this system works for everyone: users get free content, advertisers find potential customers, and websites earn money. (有些人可能会说这套机制对所有人都有利:用户能获取免费内容,广告主能找到潜在客户,网站也能赚到钱。)”以及最后一段“After all, if you are the product, should you not know what you are worth?(说到底,如果你本身就是商品,难道不该知道自己价值多少吗?)”可知,作者承认有人认为这套系统对各方都有利,但同时指出这个体系存在隐私隐患,主张提高透明度,不是全盘否定,是谨慎批判。
D
A recent review of numerous studies reveals that childhood exposure to chemicals in common plastic household items poses significant and lasting health risks, extending well into adulthood. Published in The Lancet Child & Adolescent Health, the findings highlight particular concern for three classes of chemicals: Phthalates (making plastic flexible), bisphenols (providing rigidity), and PFAS (resisting heat and water).
The research, which analyzed data from thousands of pregnant mothers, fetuses, and children, links these chemicals to a range of long-term health issues. These include heart disease, obesity, infertility, and asthma. Experts explain that these substances (物质) can derange hormone function and trigger body-wide inflammation. Furthermore, early-life exposure is associated with neurodevelopmental problems like autism and ADHD, as well as IQ loss.
These chemicals are widespread, found in food packaging, cosmetics, and even paper receipts. As plastics are used, heated, or washed, microplastics and nanoparticles are released and become ingested.
The review also suggests practical solutions. Parents can reduce exposure by switching to glass or stainless-steel containers and avoiding microwaving or dish washing plastic. Healthcare providers are encouraged to guide families toward safer choices.
At a policy level, researchers call for stricter regulations, especially for nonessential plastics. This urgency is supported by the ongoing negotiations for the UN Global Plastics Treaty, which aims to establish legally binding limits on plastic production. According to Trasande, the findings in the article support the urgent need for a strong agreement to help protect not only the environment but human health as well.
He notes that while the economic value of the plastics industry is commonly raised as a barrier to carrying out regulations, the resulting health care costs from exposure are enormous, with his research estimates reaching roughly $250 billion per year in the United States alone.
However, the researchers clarify that their findings do not challenge the essential, life-saving uses of plastic in medical settings, such as in ventilators for premature infants or neutralizers for asthmatic children. The concern lies primarily with unnecessary use outside of healthcare.
32. The underlined word “derange” in paragraph 2 most probably means ________.
A. disturb B. regulate C. ignore D. fulfill
33. According to the passage, which is NOT the measure to reduce plastic exposure?
A. Making policies to limit nonessential plastics.
B. Launching campaigns to recycle plastic bottles.
C. Avoiding microwaving and dish washing plastic.
D. Replacing plastic containers with glass or stainless steel.
34. What is Dr. Trasande’s attitude towards plastics regulation?
A. Objective. B. Supportive.
C. Ambiguous. D. Dismissive.
35. What is the main purpose of the passage?
A. To call for a total ban on plastic production.
B. To stress the essential role of plastics in medicine.
C. To reveal risks of plastic exposure and urge actions.
D. To assess the economic cost of plastic-related diseases.
【答案】32. A 33. B 34. B 35. C

Why Do We Love Fall So Much?
The autumn equinox (秋分) marks the first official day of fall. Some parts of the country are welcoming the most striking symbols of the season: colorful leaves, sweater weather, and pumpkin spice in everything.
Fall stimulates our senses. Every season has its own positive associations, but fall happens to be an especially rich sensory experience — think golden sunlight hitting the maple leaves, the sound of leaves crunching underfoot, or even the scents of damp soil in the air. “____36____ They make us feel cozy, calm, and nostalgic (怀旧的),” says Dr Albers, a Cleveland Clinic psychologist.
Fall is short. Because fall is a transitional time between summer and winter, we also view it as more transitory. Thanks to the “rarity effect”, we tend to place higher value on things we can’t have all the time. ____37____
Fall provides stability and routine. For families with children, returning to school in the fall also provides a sense of predictability and routine. Dr Albers says that during the fall, kids tend to return to their set schedules. ____38____
Fall weather makes it easier to get outdoors. A blazing summer sun may keep people indoors. ____39____ “The outdoor activity raises the oxygen level in our brains, which helps us to think clearer and feel calmer,” Dr Albers says.
____40____ Cooler temperatures and an earlier sunset may promote a more comfortable room and a more reliable bedtime routine — increasing our odds of getting the seven to nine hours of sleep we need.
A. Fall also helps us sleep better.
B. That may make us feel even more attached to it.
C. Fall also provides suitable environment for planting.
D. We can buy more seasonal products during this period.

上文“think golden sunlight hitting the maple leaves, the sound of leaves crunching underfoot, or even the scents of damp soil in the air.(想想金色阳光洒在枫叶上、脚下落叶沙沙作响,甚至空气中湿润泥土的气息)”列举了秋日的光影、声响与气味等感官景象。E选项“These sights and sounds help the brain release dopamine.(这些景象与声音能促使大脑分泌多巴胺)”中“These sights and sounds”承接上文所列举的秋日视觉、听觉等感官体验,且与下文“They make us feel cozy, calm, and nostalgic (怀旧的)(它们让我们感到舒适、平静又怀旧)”衔接自然。

【39题详解】
上文“A blazing summer sun may keep people indoors.(盛夏的烈日可能会让人们待在室内)”说明炎热天气阻碍人们外出。G选项“But fall’s milder temperatures lend themselves to spending time outside.(但秋天更为温和的气温适合人们待在户外)”与上文形成转折,引出秋日适宜户外活动的内容,引出下文“The outdoor activity raises the oxygen level in our brains...(户外活动会提升我们大脑中的氧气含量……)”。
【40题详解】
此处为段落小标题。下文“Cooler temperatures and an earlier sunset may promote a more comfortable room and a more reliable bedtime routine — increasing our odds of getting the seven to nine hours of sleep we need.(更凉爽的气温和更早的日落能营造更舒适的室内环境、更固定的就寝作息——提升我们获得所需7至9小时睡眠的概率)”主要讲述秋季环境有助于提升睡眠质量。A选项“Fall also helps us sleep better.(秋天也有助于我们睡得更好)”概括本段主旨,适合作为小标题。

第二节:读后续写(满分25分)
67. 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一个完整的短文。
Recently I graduated from high school. The afternoon sun warmed my graduation cap as I stared at the mountain of flowers crowding my room-bunches of flowers from family and friends, forty to be exact! Roses, daisies, and lilies spilled across every surface, their sweet scent overwhelming. “How will I ever…” My thought was interrupted by sudden giggles.
Six-year-old Sue and seven-year-old Mike exploded into the room, eyes widening at the floral jungle. “Auntie, are you opening a flower shop?” Mike asked, poking a sunflower taller than himself. Sue pressed her nose into a pink rose, sneezing dramatically.
An idea bloomed. “Let’s give these to strangers!” I announced. The kids froze mid-giggle. “Why?” Sue frowned. “To grow smiles,” I explained, showing them blank cards. “We’ll write nice notes!” Cheerful creativity followed. Mike’s cards read “SMILE!!” in colourful capitals, while Sue drew rainbow hearts. We tied them to the flowers’ stems with ribbons.
Our first target stood at the park entrance-Officer Martinez, who was directing traffic, Sue dashed forward. “Flower for you!” she shouted, stretching her tiny arm upward. The officer’s stern face melted into a sunrise smile. “Made my day, kiddo,” he said, pinning the daisy to his uniform.
Next, we approached Mr. Thompson, our grumpy bus driver. “Flower for making our rides safe!” Mike declared. The man’s coffee-stained mustache twitched. “Kids these days…” he muttered, placing the lily carefully beside his timetable.
By noon, our basket neared empty. Thirty-eight flowers had found homes-a tired bus driver, a lonely bench-sitter, a laughing child and so on. It was lunch time and we went to Subway for lunch. There the kids gave a flower to the waitress, a girl with blue-streaked hair, held her breath when Sue offered the flower. “For me? Nobody’s ever gave me a flower!” Her voice cracked as she tucked it behind her ear. As we were eating our lunch, the waitress came up to the kids with two big chocolate cookies! “For the flower angles,” she grinned. The kids’ eyes lit brighter than their cookie sprinkles. As they ate the cookies, “Best cookies ever!” Sue and Mike exclaimed with the biggest smiles I had ever seen.
注意:1. 续写词数应为150左右;
2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
Paragraph 1: With just one flower left, I said it should be given to the person who needed it most.

Paragraph 2: It turned out to be a great day for us.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】范文
With just one flower left, I said it should be given to the person who needed it most. Just then, my nephew caught sight of an old woman in a wheelchair nearby. “I think she’s the very person for the flower. She lives a hard life because of bad health. She needs smiles most,” said my nephew. With these words, my nephew, followed by my niece, took the flower up to her. You can imagine how happy the old woman looked! She smiled, and gave each of the kids a big kiss.
It turned out to be a great day for us. We spread a lot of smiles by giving out flowers, and received a lot of smiles in return. The flowers not only made us feel good about ourselves, but also made 40 other people feel happy. I feel there is nothing more enjoyable than being friendly to people. Meanwhile, the kids learned an important lesson in the process. In fact, they can’t wait until next time they have such a chance again. They want to give out more flowers!

E. These sights and sounds help the brain release dopamine.
F. And all of us tend to grow better with a little extra structure in our lives.
G. But fall’s milder temperatures lend themselves to spending time outside.

Today, i'd like to talk about a common problem among teenagers being addicted to social media. A recent survey shows that seventy two percent of high school students use social media for over two hours every day, with most starting at the age of thirteen or fourteen. On one hand, social media helps students stay connected with friends, share interesting stories, and even access free educational resources like online courses and steady tips. On the other hand, IT brings many problems. Parents and teachers have noticed that students who spend too much time on social media often have trouble focusing in class. They may also feel upset after comparing their daily lives with the perfect posts online, which makes them lose confidence. What's worse, some students get disturbed by messages during study time, leading to a drop in grades. Experts suggest that instead of banning social media completely, school should teach students to manage their screen time wisely. For example, setting a fix time for checking social media after finishing homework, or choosing educational accounts to follow instead of those with meaningless content. Remember, social media is a tool IT can either help us or harm us, depending on how we use IT. Good morning, everyone.
