In 2014, a company called OFO started a bike-sharing programme at a university in Beijing. Students could use an app to find and unlock a bike. They could ride it anywhere and leave it for the next person. The cost was very low.
Soon, the idea spread to other cities and countries. Many companies started similar programmes. Today, shared bikes can be seen in almost every big city in China. They are popular because they are cheap, convenient, and good for the environment. People use them to go to work, to school, or to the subway station. They don’t need to worry about traffic jams or parking spaces.
However, shared bikes also bring problems. Some people park them in the wrong places. Some break the bikes or steal them. To solve these problems, companies and governments are working together. They are setting rules and using technology to manage the bikes.

In my family, we have a special tradition called the “No Phone Dinner”, which takes place every Sunday. This is just eating.” So he made a rule — no phones at the dinner table on Sundays. At
first, my brother and I thought it was boring. We didn’t know what to say. However, my parents started asking us questions about school and friends. We began to talk and laugh.
Now, Sunday dinner is my favourite time of the week. We talk about our week, our plans, and our dreams. We tell jokes and share funny stories. Sometimes we even play a quick game after dinner.

The concept of zero is one of the greatest achievements in human history. Long ago, people did not have a symbol for zero. They could count one, two, three, but they had no way to express “none”. 36 This made doing maths difficult, especially with large numbers.
Then, around the 5th century CE, Indian mathematicians developed the symbol for zero. They used a small dot to represent nothing. 37 This small dot made new kinds of calculation possible.
With zero, people could write large numbers more easily. They could also perform more complex calculations. 38 It helped scientists and traders all over the world.
Later, the idea of zero travelled to the Arab world and then to Europe. 39 Today, zero is essential(必不可少的)in modern life.
Zero may seem unimportant, but it is a great idea. 40 It shows how a small idea can change the world.
选项:
A. It became widely used in mathematics.
B. Without it, modern science would be impossible.

A Great Person and a Great Idea
1. B 2. B 3. C 4. D 5. C 6. A 7. D 8. A 9. C 10. B
2. 解析:told us 后接宾语从句,从句 “we should write each stroke slowly and carefully”是完整的陈述句,用 that 引导。
+ to do sth.,it 作形式宾语,真正宾语是后面的不定式 to control the brush。That / this / one 都不能作形式宾语。
8. 解析:固定短语 be good at(擅长于)。be good in 不成立;be good on 无此搭配;be good for 表示“对……
What 后接名词短语;不存在 How an 的用法。
11. A 12. D 13. A 14. D 15. B 16. A 17. C 18. C 19. B 20. C
hated(讨厌)、refused(拒绝)、forgot(忘记)都与转折逻辑矛盾。
12. 解析:spend time (in) doing sth.
sadly(悲伤地)、quickly(快速地)、loudly(大声地)均不符合“思考”的合理修饰。
operated(操作)、allowed(允许)与 ideas 不搭配;taught(教)的主语应是人,思想不能“被教”在书中。
forget(忘记)、ignore(忽视)、lose(丢失)均与全文对孔子的正面评价矛盾。
17. 解析:固定搭配 be regarded as(被视为 / 被认为是)。become 不能用于被动语态 be become;be forgotten as 语义不通;be heard as 无此搭配。
19. 解析:“己所不欲,勿施于人”是一条道德原则(principle),而非 story(故事)、problem(问题)或 game(游戏)。
money(金钱)、luck(运气)、time(时间)均与文章主题无关。

36. D 37. E 38. C 39. A 40. B

48. He was in prison for 27 years.

50. Courage and patience can change the world.
51. pressure 52. perfect 53. reply 54. belief 55. impact / influence
a lot of 后接名词,pressure(压力)符合语境。
reply to the questions(回答问题),try to 后接动词原形。
a strong belief that...(坚定的信念),have a belief 为固定搭配。
have a deep impact / influence on sb.(对某人有深远影响),固定搭配。
56. watching 57. better 58. did 59. that 60. Inspired
56. 解析:be interested in 中 in 是介词,后接动名词,故为 watching。
59. 解析:强调句型 It is / was + 被强调部分 + that / who + 其他。被强调部分 his curiosity 是事物,用 that。
A Great Person and a Great Idea
Yuan Longping was a great scientist. His groundbreaking idea was to develop hybrid rice, which greatly increased food production. At that time, many people suffered from hunger. Yuan spent years in the fields, doing experiments again and again. His efforts finally paid off. Hybrid rice helped feed millions of people.
I admire him very much. His story shows me that great ideas come from hard work and care for others. A great person can change the world with a simple but powerful idea.
