Artificial intelligence (AI) is no longer a far-off idea. It has entered many parts of our lives, from daily tasks to global (全球的) fields. At the 2025 Bund Summit (外滩金融峰会) in Shanghai, different AI products were shown. Some companies showed their high-tech AI machines, showing how much AI has improved in different fields.
Dr. Demis Hassabis, a top AI scientist and the winner of the 2024 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, said at an event in Greece that “learning how to learn” will be the most important skill for young people. He thinks that as AI develops faster, this skill will be more important because it helps people keep up with changing technology. He added that AI can do many things, like dealing with large amounts (数量) of data (数据) quickly, but it can’t give people the ability to explore new knowledge on their own.
To keep up with AI’s fast development, students need to develop important skills. These skills include critical (批判性) thinking, managing study time well, and getting used to new technologies. In some schools, students learn to check if AI-collected information is trustworthy—this is a way to practice critical thinking. With these skills, students can do better in an AI-driven future.
Though AI brings much convenience, we shouldn’t depend on it too much. We should see AI as a useful tool, not a replacement for our own thinking. Only then can we make good use of AI while keeping our ability to learn and create.
4. What may be shown at the 2025 Bund Summit in Shanghai?
A. A silk scarf. B. A traditional fan. C. A smart watch
5. According to Dr. Demis Hassabis, what is the most important skill for young people?

Music is more than just a way to relax. It is a powerful tool that can change how we think and feel. Yet, most of us do not make full use of it.
We already know that music can influence our feelings—reduce our pain, cheer us up or make us cry. But over the past few years, research at the University of Bergen, Norway, suggests it can change our thoughts. In one study, people were asked to listen to heroic or sad-sounding music while their minds wandered (游离). The results were clear:the cheerful music made people full of energetic thoughts, while sad music brought calmer or negative ones. This doesn’t just happen by chance. It matters for our mental health.
Studies find we spend nearly half our waking hours daydreaming. During this mental wandering, our brains often get into negative thoughts—like late-night worries or regrets—that lower our happiness.
But why do these thoughts have such a powerful hold on us? Recent brain research discovers the answer: they activate (激活) some of the same brain regions that process physical pain. The good news is music provides a natural solution. When we take an active part in music by tapping along, or moving to the beat, we change our brain from negative cycles into focusing on the present mind. This creates a healthy “mental reset” that breaks these harmful cycles.
The power of music goes beyond the mind. Studies show that being active in music during small physical hurts, like a brief pressure on the fingernail, makes people feel less pain. This shows music can be a natural way to ease pain and make us mentally stronger. It is time for society to value music’s power not only when we’re sick, but also in our everyday lives.
8. Why does the writer introduce the example in Paragraph 2?
A. To offer a solution. B. To present a fact.
C. To stress a difference. D. To support an opinion.
9. According to the text, what is a good example of a“mental reset”?
A. Trying hard to forget all past memories.
B. Stopping listening to music to avoid sadness.
C. Using a cheerful song to stop worrying about a test.
D. Daydreaming about a happy place instead of working.
10. How does the writer organize the text in Paragraph 4?
A. By comparing the differences. B. By telling events in time order.
C. By explaining causes and effects. D. By showing a problem and its solution.
11. What can we learn from the passage?
A. Listening to music is enough to get its full benefits.
B. Music can work for mental problems, not physical pain.
C. Society is beginning to value music’s power in our daily life.
D. Negative thoughts can activate brain areas about physical pain.
【答案】8. D 9. C 10. D 11. D

For composer Zhang Xiaoyu, music is a special way to express love for her hometown. Through her work River of Memory, she encourages people to value the rivers and lakes that nourish their lives.
River of Memory is made up of five parts. The first part brings the audience into a peaceful riverside scene. Soft water sounds are heard against the sound of birds singing gently. As the scene changes, a violin starts to play a sweet melody. It sounds like the river telling its long history through music. In the next part, the music becomes lively. It brings to mind the happy moments of people fishing and playing by the river. The river provides food and joy for the local people. Then, the third part shows how the river is polluted by waste from factories. The music turns sad and heavy. People start to worry about losing their beloved river. After that comes a hopeful part. It is full of bright tunes. People take action to clean the river and protect the environment. The final part is filled with cheerful rhythms, with the river finally becoming clean and beautiful again.
Before she started writing River of Memory, Zhang spent a week living near the river, listening carefully to every sound. The sounds of flowing water, birds and even frogs filled her with ideas for her musical work.
Zhang hopes people hear the ▲ in her music. “You may think one small river doesn’t matter much, but a whole water system starts to suffer as soon as the first river is polluted,” she said. “I hope everyone will care for every river.”

【答案】
Last month, I took part in a space-themed activity held by our school. It was such an unforgettable experience that I learned a lot from it.
First, I listened to the stories of astronauts. From their experiences, I deeply understood the scientific spirit of perseverance. No matter what difficulties they met, they never gave up. Besides, I joined in some scientific research tasks. Not only did I gain much new knowledge, but I also realized how important teamwork is. We could finish our work better only by working together. What’s more, we visited a space exhibition. Seeing various models of spacecraft greatly aroused my interest in exploring space.
I think space exploration is amazing. I will keep studying hard and hope I can make my own contribution to our country’s space program in the future.

A. Getting used to new technologies
B. Learning how to learn
C. Mastering basic computer skills
6. What does the underlined word “trustworthy” mean in Paragraph 3?
A. Forgettable B. Changeable C. Dependable
7. Which of the following could be the best title for the passage?
A. AI Users: To Learn How to Learn
B. AI Products: To Bring More Fun to Life
C. AI Technologies: To Be Used in More Fields
C
12. What’s Zhang’s way to protect the environment?
A. Planting trees. B. Writing articles. C. Creating music. D. Sharing stories.
13. How may people feel when hearing the third part of River of Memory?
A. Sad. B. Lonely. C. Relaxed. D. Excited.
14. Which word can be put in “▲”?
A. talent B. rhythm C. peace D. message
15. What can we infer (推断) from the passage?
A. Zhang makes up all the sounds in her music by herself.
B. Zhang thinks small rivers are important to the whole water system.
C. The river in Zhang’s hometown is still heavily polluted now.
D. River of Memory has five different parts in total.

七、阅读表达(共5小题,计10分)
阅读下面的短文,并根据短文后的要求答题。
Nobody knows who invented the pencil or when it was invented. A Swiss described a pencil in a book in 1565. He said it was a piece of wood with lead inside it. In 1795, someone started making pencils from graphite and they became very popular. Today, people make pencils in the same way. They put it inside a piece of wood. One pencil can make a line as long as 55 kilometers.
In the past, when people wrote with pens, they had to put the pen point into the ink after writing every few letters. Later someone invented a fountain pen and this kind of pen could hold ink inside it. A fountain pen can write several pages before you have to fill it again.
The Biro brothers invented the ballpoint pen that we all use today. They came from Hungary and started making ballpoint pens in Argentina in 1943. Ballpoint pens were more useful than fountain pens. They could work at high altitudes (海拔), where fountain pens leak.
