If you’ve got a lot of information coming at you fast, or you need to pick up a new skill in a short amount of time, no worries. 32
Take notes by hand.
Research shows it can help you learn more effectively. Make sure you bring a pen (or pencil) and plenty of paper whenever you’re studying. 33 As a result, you can still pay attention and won’t waste time on every little word.
Create a learning schedule.
A regular timetable can help your mind get more information. Follow the schedule you make and focus only on studying or learning during that time period. A detailed study plan can help you learn more quickly.
34
You’ll get more information if you study in 30-60 minute periods. Breaking study into short blocks (区块), also known as “time-chunking”, works better than long hours. While super long study (something like 2-4 hours) may help for immediate tests, it doesn’t lead to lasting memory.
Keep a positive attitude.
35 Try to remind yourself that you’re learning something to improve your skills. Think about all of the benefits, rather than what you’re missing while studying. For example, think about how mastering maths can help future projects, not just recent homework.
By following these tips, hopefully you can improve your learning ability quickly.
A.Learn in short periods of time.
B.Remember to prepare yourself for the tests.
C.Write in phrases instead of complete sentences.
D.The right attitude can help you learn more effectively.
E.There are some tips you can use to improve your learning ability.
【答案】32.E 33.C 34.A 35.D
【导语】本文介绍了四种提升学习效率的方法:手写记笔记、制定学习计划、短时分段学习以及保持积极的学习心态。
【详解】32.上文说“no worries”,下文开始列举具体方法,E项“There are some tips you can use to improve your learning ability.”,可以承上启下,起到总起全文,引出下文多个建议的作用。
33.本段主题是手写笔记,后文提到“won’t waste time on every little word.”,说明了不用在每个单词上浪费时间,C项表达的“Write in phrases instead of complete sentences.”符合逻辑,能节省时间。
34.结合“You’ll get more information if you study in 30-60 minute periods. Breaking study into short blocks (区块), also known as ‘time-chunking’, works better than long hours.”可知,本段内容主要讲30-60分钟短时学习,分段学习效果更好,A项“Learn in short periods of time.”作为小标题,可以概括段意。

When you were a child, you might have taken a sweet, white sugar pill. But do you know who made it? It was Gu Fangzhou, a great Chinese scientist. His invention saved millions of children from polio (小儿麻痹症).
Gu was born in 1926. Seeing how much people suffered from diseases, he decided to 36 himself to medicine. After years of hard study, he became a doctor and later a virus expert.
In the 1950s, polio broke out in China. Many children got sick and some 37 walk again. Gu felt very sad and made up his 38 to fight the disease.
Making a vaccine was a hard job. At that time, there was little technology, and the work had to be done 39 . Gu and his team worked day and night in a small lab. They tried again and again but 40 gave up. In 1960, they finally made a vaccine. To make sure it was safe, Gu tested it on 41 first. Some team members were worried, but Gu said, “If we don’t test it, how can we let children use it?”
Later, Gu found the liquid (液体) vaccine was hard to carry and not 42 for children to take. So he thought of a clever idea—putting the vaccine into candy. The “sugar pill” vaccine was born, cheap, easy to keep, and loved by children.
Gu didn’t stop there. He kept working for more than 43 years until China got rid of polio in 2000. When people praised him, he 44 said, “I did nothing special. I just did what a doctor should do.” In 2019, Gu passed away at the age of 92, but his sugar pills will always be 45 in our hearts.

44.句意:当人们赞扬他时,他只是说:“我没做什么特别的事。”

In 2026, a group of teenagers in Shanghai started a “Money Diary” project. They wanted to understand their spending habits. For one month, they wrote down every single thing they spent money on.
The results were surprising. Many teenagers didn’t realize how much they spent on small things. One student, 14-year-old Li Ming, found that he spent over 200 yuan on bubble tea in just one month! “I never thought about it before,” he said. “I just bought one every day after school. ”
