听第10段材料,回答第17至20题。(Text 10)
I was coming out of the grocery store yesterday, and my hands were full. When I grabbed my keys from my purse, they accidentally fell into a channel that carries away dirty water. I was so upset that I dropped the grocery bags, and my food spilled everywhere. I remember a man in a suit laughing as he walked by. I was about to ask for help when a nice old man was coming over with two new bags. And he helped to pick up my groceries. Then a young boy tried using a wooden stick to get my keys, but he couldn’t reach them. His mother even used the end of her umbrella to try to pick them up but failed. Two strong men tried lifting up the channel cover, but it was too heavy. Just when I was about to give up, a man with a beard said he had the perfect tool in his car. He came back with a long metal bar and helped me to get my keys. Everyone clapped, and I thanked them all for their help. It is moments like these that remind me how many good people there are in the world.

原文 Text 7
W: Can I help you?
M: Yes, I’ve just arrived here on holiday. Have you got a map of the town?
W: Yes. Here you are. The tourist office is just here. If you walk down this street, you’ll get to the beach. It’s about five minutes away.
M: Thank you. Do you have any information about things to do in the area?
W: Yes, of course. There’s a walking tour of the old town. It takes a couple of hours and is very interesting. And then there are coach tours. There’s one that takes you to the castles in this area.
M: Do I need to book everything in advance?
W: For the coach tour, you’d need to book at least a day in advance, and you can do that here. For the walking tour, you just need to turn up outside this office at ten o’clock in the morning on Tuesday .
M: Well, thank you very much.

原文 Text 8
M: I can’t think of anywhere I’d rather be. Just listen to the birds in the trees. It’s so peaceful here.
W: I’m so glad you took me here. Did you say your dad used to take you here when you were younger?
M: Yes, we used to spend a day exploring the nearby countryside, and then camp out here by the lake. It was so exciting. He would make a campfire and we’d cook sausages.
W: I used to do something like that with my dad too, but he’d toast bread on the fire. We’d stay up late telling stories or going for night walks.
M: You used to come here too?
W: No, not here. We went to a place near where my grandmother lived up in the northern forests. But it was just as peaceful.
M: Sounds great. Hey, do you fancy wandering along the river?
W: Maybe a bit later. I fancy sitting and reading my book for a while. Perhaps you could start a fire and make me a nice cup of tea?
M: Great idea! I’ll get some wood.

M: Hi, Dr. Johnson. I’m really not feeling well.
W: What are your symptoms, Billy?
M: Well, I have a deep cough and my nose is really blocked up. I’ve been sneezing a lot. And I feel really tired and weak all the time.
W: Hmm… it sounds like you actually have a very bad cold . If untreated, it could turn into something worse, like a problem with your lungs. We’re going to get you better long before that happens.
M: Thanks so much, doctor . What should I do?
W: First, I want you to go to the drugstore and get some cold medicine, as well as some vitamin C tablets. Also, you need to drink a lot of water. Tea with lemon and honey should make you feel better. Oh, also, try to get as much rest as possible.
M: Thanks so much, Dr. Johnson. I’ll do everything you said.
W: Good job, Billy. But if you get sicker, I’m afraid that you need to have another appointment with me then. I hope you’ll feel better soon!

原文 Text 10
